Chapter 530
"Thank you so much, Charles. Your wife is very considerate," George praised Noelle generously.
"Yes, my wife is amazing!" Charles readily agreed, never holding back on complimenting Noelle in front of others.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
After dropping George off, it was already quite late, so they decided not to head to the office and went straight home instead.
It had been an exhausting day. Feeling worn out, Noelle kicked off her shoes and went straight to the master bedroom to rest. Knowing how tired she was, Charles did not disturb her and went to the study to review the survey data that Brian had given him.
He became engrossed in his work and lost track of time. He continued until late into the night. After a nap, Noelle woke up feeling much better. Upon noticing Charles was not beside her, she slipped out of bed to look for him.
Seeing the light on in the study, Noelle knocked gently on the door. Charles' calm voice came from inside, "Come in!"
Noelle opened the door and saw Charles deeply focused on his work. The dim lighting in the study cast a serene glow, creating a quiet, tranquil atmosphere.
Carrying a cup of tea, Noelle walked over and noticed Charles' desk was covered in various conversion formulas. Surprised, she picked up a sheet. "Charlie, you could totally take over my mentor's role."
"Hmm?" Charles accepted the tea from Noelle and took a sip, raising an eyebrow slightly. "New tea?"
"Yes. Grandpa brought it over, and there's quite a lot. He said his professor friends sent it. How is it?" Noelle smiled as she sat down beside him, glancing at Charles' papers and giving him a quick look-over.
Charles nodded slightly. "Not bad." Then, he added, "You said I could replace your mentor? And who would your mentor replace? Me?"
"Pfft!" Noelle could not help but laugh. "Okay, maybe I misspoke. But for someone as talented as you, sitting in that position seems like a bit of a waste."
As she spoke, she carefully examined the formulas and notes Charles had jotted down. "Why didn't I think of that?"
Charles took another sip of tea. "Which part?"
Noelle got up and pointed to a section Charles had circled. "Right here. But seriously, Charlie, how do you know everything?"
Noelle was amazed by Charles' vast abilities. "What did you study in school?"
"Didn't your grandpa tell you?" Charles smiled faintly. "I was a student of your grandpa's at university. You should know what he taught."
"Exactly! That's why I find it so
strange. You. Oh, right! I remember my mentor saying that he was also one of my grandpa's students." Noelle suddenly came to a realization. "So, you and my m go way back?"
"Not exactly." Charles thought for a moment before continuing,
"Although Brian and I are around the same age, I started university when I was 12 or 13. I started much earlier than him."
Noelle playfully slapped her forehead and gave Charles a bemused look before chuckling. "If my mentor heard that, he'd probably cough up blood! He's already pretty impressive, but you..."
"What about me?" Charles raised an eyebrow, curious to hear what she would say next.
Noelle chuckled. "But you... you're just ridiculously extraordinary."
