Chapter 545
"Explain yourself—what exactly is going on!" After the meeting, Joseph directly called Xavier into his office.
He shut the door and nearly slapped Xavier in frustration but restrained himself. He pointed a finger at him instead. "I might let it slide that you snuck off to Ivory Heights during your business trip, but what about the Collosus Group partnership? Didn't you say it was a sure thing?"
"It was practically guaranteed. For the past three months, I had my team working around the clock, putting together impressive data for Charles. Who could've predicted he'd pull this?
"How can Frotconn possibly compete with Lennon Group?" Xavier, too, felt a burning frustration. After his team's relentless effort over three months, they were abruptly cut out of the deal.
"Dad, didn't you say that Sir Hoffman already promised to give Frotconn this opportunity?"
"Yes, Sir Hoffman did agree, but that damn Charles didn't!" Joseph seethed as he clenched his teeth. "I don't know what Charles is up to. We had an agreement to compete fairly, but then he goes and pre-selects a partner."
"So, what do we do now?"
"What else can we do? The priority is to find Charles. You go talk to him, and I'll go see Sir Hoffman. I want to hear what he has to say!" Joseph refused to believe it.
He had once saved someone from the Hoffmans, and they owed him a life debt. Since Maxwell had promised them, how dare Charles go back on it? "Alright, I'll go to Collosus Group now and get some answers from Charles. Dad, are you heading to see Sir Hoffman now?"
"No rush. You go gauge Charles' stance first. I'll follow up after."
At Collosus Group, Xavier found his usual ease of access disrupted. Without an appointment, he could not directly see Charles.
Then, lacking Charles' contact information, he had to ask the receptionist to call up to the 27th floor to inquire.
Becky answered the call. However, after consulting with Ronald, she informed Xavier that Charles was not in. In truth, Charles was indeed out of the office, currently conducting site visits.
On this cold winter day, a group trailed behind him as they assessed the West City land. They had spent the past three months meticulously preparing for this project, getting thoroughly familiar with every aspect of the site.
George was also present, having previously discussed his interest in West City's development with Brian. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Charles, this is the preliminary
design that Parker and I put
together. What do you think?"
George laid out the blueprints
believe a shopping mall would work
well here. As for this area, the poffution isn't too severe.
"With proper treatment, we could begin construction in about six months. I think it would be suitable for healthcare facilities. Over here, though, Parker and I have differing opinions-I'm in favor of an
ov
amusement park while Parker
suggests a welfare center.
"Let me take a look." Charles took the blueprints, scanning them briefly before pointing at the sections marked in blue. "George, are these your recommendations?"
George nodded. "Yes, I think an amusement park in this spot could greatly enhance West City's appeal and contribute to the area's prosperity. Isn't your local government working toward that goal?"
"Mr. Hoffman, Becky called to say that Xavier came by looking for you, but she sent him away. It's probably about the West City project.
"What would you like me to convey?" Ronald handed Charles the phone, but Charles simply waved it off.
"I'm not seeing him!"
