The Cherished Wife

Chapter 617

Charles let out a laugh. "It's just a dress. You're acting like it's the end of the world. What about this one? Looks good, right?"

He pulled a crisp white shirt from Noelle's closet, pretty standard stuff, and then grabbed a cozy white sweater.

As Charles kept pulling out clothes, Noelle facepalmed. "These aren't dresses, they're... well..."

"Yeah?" Charles quirked an eyebrow. "They're what?"

"Never mind!" Sure, they were warm, but how were they any different from her everyday wear? This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.

The real difference was in Charles' styling. The outfits he chose had that crisp, detached vibe, especially with the black and white theme topped off with a sleek black coat. It was warm, classy, and totally Noelle's style, which was why her closet was full of these mix-and-match pieces.

"So, you're saying you want me to look good, but that's just business as usual, right?"

Charles softened his gaze. "You always look amazing. It's just a yearly get-together. There's no need to go all out. You're not like the rest of them!" "Alright, alright, this one's perfect!" Noelle decided, not wanting to dwell on her outfit choice any longer. "So, where's the shindig happening tomorrow?"

"The Majestic Lounge," Charles replied, holding up the outfit in front of Noelle for a quick comparison. "I was thinking of hosting it at Collosus Group, but things are a bit hectic there lately. We don't want to throw the company's rhythm off."

"Got it," Noelle said with a grin. "Oh, and that number tag everyone's buzzing about-you got one too? Arya from my team is super nosy and keeps bugging me about what it's all about."

As she spoke, Noelle neatly folded the clothes and strolled over to Charles, giving his head a gentle massage.

Charles, visibly relaxed on the couch, chuckled at her question. "I have a feeling it's not Arya who's dying to know. It's you, isn't it?"

Busted, Noelle just laughed it off. "Maybe. Are you going to spill the beans?"

"It's our little secret. If I give it away now, it'll spoil the surprise," he said, capturing her hand and playfully

thrilled with it when the time comes."

"Hey, take it easy," Noelle protested, trying to maintain some distance. "Remember, not a lot of folks know we're hitched. If we get spotted at the Collosus Group's big bash, it could get messy." It was not being seen that was the issue. She was more concerned about the rumors that might start flying about her and Charles.

Then there was J. Just thinking about her gave Noelle a headache.

"Don't worry, I've got this under control." Charles lifted Noelle's hand to his lips for a gentle kiss. "Tomorrow, you'll join your project department team, and Brian will look after you."

"I know." Noelle's smile was warm. "I'm grown up, I can handle myself. You'll have a lot on your plate tomorrow, so I won't add to your stress."

Noelle straightened Charles's collar

and gave his shoulder a reassuring pat. "I can't shake the feeling you're keeping something from me. You're not planning any surprises for tomorrow, are you?"
