The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 476

Chapter 476

Two days later, at the school gate.

With a suitcase in her hand, Cordelia anxiously peered into the school grounds.

"If Sally stands me up, I swear..." Cordelia glanced at her wristwatch, muttering to Sean.

"Don't worry, I just called her before I came out. She hasn't forgotten," Sean reassured her.

"The conference starts at one in the afternoon, and we have to take a three-and-a-half-hour bus ride.

We'll probably get to the bus station around ten. It's all my fault, I don't know how to drive," Cordelia

fretted, her feet tapping nervously on the ground as sweat trickled down her forehead.

A car screeched to a halt in front of them.

"What's up?" A charismatic male voice echoed as the car window rolled down.

Sean was also anxious, but upon seeing the person who arrived, his face immediately lit up with a big

smile.

"It's Professor Evans. We're waiting for someone," Sean replied respectfully.

Upon hearing "Professor Evans", Cordelia turned around. Who else could it be but Ronan? However,

the title "Professor Evans" sounded strangely formal. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ronan's gaze briefly landed on Cordelia's suitcase. "Where are you headed?"

"Professor Evans, we're going to Millstone for a financial forum. We're taking a bus," Sean answered

quickly.

"Finally, she's here." Cordelia looked towards the school, where Sally was jogging towards them,

pulling a large suitcase.

"Three of you heading to Millstone?" Ronan asked again, "Why not ride with me? I'm also heading

there."

Sally arrived, panting heavily.

Cordelia checked her watch. It was already a quarter to ten. Even if they reached the bus station and

got on the bus, it would be half-past ten. They still had to sort out their things at the hotel. They were

definitely going to be late.

"Alright, let's go. Get in," Cordelia said, glancing at her watch.

Ronan had just switched to a more spacious Bentley. It would definitely fit them all.

Sally and Sean sat in the back, while Cordelia reluctantly sat in the front passenger seat.

She definitely couldn't sit in the back with two students, especially when Callum was also there.

Seeing Cordelia get in, Callum's face lit up with joy. "Mom, you come?"

Cordelia was buckling her seatbelt, and his words made her pause. "Huh? Yeah."

Sally and Sean exchanged surprised glances. They didn't dare ask anything in the car. They both eyed

Callum, confirming that the child was "Mr. Evans' son", and Mr. Evans' son was calling Cordelia "Mom."

"Mom, where are you going? Let Dad drive you there," Callum said.

Now, Sally and Sean were even more certain. Ronan's child was calling Cordelia "Mom." So, what

exactly was the relationship between Ronan and Cordelia?

"I'm going to the Pearl Hotel," Cordelia looked at Ronan, "Is that okay?"

"Why wouldn't it be?" he replied.

His car was fast, but it felt remarkably smooth inside the Bentley. They didn't feel the speed at all.

Besides, this was a six to seven million dollar Bentley, much more comfortable than a bus ride.

Sally and Sean were messaging each other in the backseat.

[Did I hear that right? When did Ms. Haselwood have such a big son?] Sally asked Sean.

[Your guess is as good as mine,] Sean replied.

Cordelia was staring out the window, a question nagging at her mind. Why was the route from

Birchwood to Millstone passing through Birchwood College when it didn't used to?

Last time she took a bus back to Millstone, the route was different from a private car.

"Why are you passing through Birchwood College?" Cordelia broke the silence, noticing the awkward

atmosphere in the car.

"Your son insisted on seeing his grandpa's school," Ronan said.

The phrase "your son" once again stimulated Sally and Sean's nerves.

"Well, I mainly wanted to see if I could bump into Mom, and look, I did," Callum added.
