Chapter 110 The Self-Righteous

Ranita's impression of Paityn was not good because of her rude questioning tone or perhaps her accent. She felt like hiding her arrogance but ended up being awkward instead. Ranita could speak the dialect of Ecrine but didn't want to trouble herself with such impolite questions from Paityn.

"Miss Bowman, I'm straightforward when speaking; I don't like beating around the bush," said Paityn as she used her personality as an excuse for saying something unpleasantly bluntly. "Although this blue velvet dress is beautiful, you should wear what suits you best! I heard that you are Mr. Stuart's exclusive translator; if you wear something inappropriate, won't it embarrass Mr. Stuart?"

"Miss Bowman, there's something I'm not sure if I should say or not..."

After saying so much, she was still unsure if she should say it or not!?

Ranita smiled and calmly interrupted, "Ms. Sutton, if you're not sure whether to say it or not, then it's better not to say it at all!"

"After asking one question, you start rambling on and on. It's obvious that you think my blue velvet haute couture is fake, right?"

Upon hearing this, Paityn's face couldn't hide her embarrassment. Her overfilled cheeks froze, and she forced a smile, saying, "Miss Bowman, you truly are straightforward!"

The sarcasm was deep.

"I can't compare to you!" Ranita retorted back.

It wasn't that Ranita wanted to argue with her like this - live and let live - but when someone bullied her face-to-face like this she wouldn't stand by idly either.

"What's more," continued Ranita, "Are you the designer of this blue velvet dress? How can you be so sure mine is fake? What if mine is real? Won't it make things awkward for yourself?"

Ranita asked several questions in succession which left Paityn speechless.

Paityn had been in the industry for many years now and considered herself having sharp eyesight when judging fashion items' authenticity. Although Ranita looked good on the outside, according to her status quo, she couldn't afford or order such a blue velvet dress through proper channels anyway!

Moreover... if one paid attention to fashion circles, they would know there were only two dresses available domestically – one worn by Shannon without any doubt while another rumoured in Steland!

Overall speaking... the probability of Ranitas' dress being genuine was zero!

Paityn confidently spoke up, "Miss Bowman, there's a 99% chance that this blue velvet dress is a fake! While it's your choice to buy what you want, wearing fake clothing to events like this and even running into Miss Murphy will cause great trouble for you!"

Ranita frowned as she noticed people starting to look at her again and whisper about her.

"Tsk tsk, is Miss Bowman someone from Mr. Stuart's side? I never thought she would do something so foolish."

"What's the big deal? Maybe she just wants to hook a rich man and didn't expect to run into Miss Murphy while wearing the same outfit. She ended up embarrassing herself!"

"Such a pity! She was completely outdone by Miss Murphy!"

"How can someone like her still stay at the celebration? If it were me, I would have been too ashamed to show my face!" Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

...

Ranita never expected that she would coincidentally wear the same dress as Shannon. She had owned this blue velvet dress for some time but never thought that wearing it for the first time would cause so much trouble!

"Miss Bowman, if you don't have any other dresses, I can have one sent over for you," Paityn said with a smirk on her face as if looking down on Ranita with self-righteousness.
