The Girlboss Begs for Remarriage

Chapter 2249

The guests' intentions were simple they would spend money here at Golden Lily even if they would not be seeing Frank, though they would get their money's worth if he did show up.

The fact that he did meant that they had made the right bet-it had just been a couple of days, but they managed to get a good look at the man whose legend was now known in this town, and by extension, Shagan!

"Good evening, everyone." Frank nodded at them. "Welcome to Golden Lily!"

They were merely guests, but Frank had a good hunch on what they were scheming. But since they were polite, he had no reason to be rude.noveldrama

"It's an honor to meet you, Mr. Frankton. We're just booking a room-would you care to join us?"

"Sure, if I have nothing else on my plate. Go on without me for now."

"If you say so!"

As the guests laughed and left, Meg sighed. "You're finally here, Mr. Frankton. I've been dying for the past couple of days... really should've shredded that transfer agreement."

Frank smiled in wry amusement, as Meg certainly did look worn out.

She had never bothered him and had always been a competent manager, so it was really something else to see her playing the damsel in distress. "Well, I'm here now!" He shrugged. "Just hire more people if it gets too busy-I could even ask Jada to send someone over from the company to help. That said, it's kinda your fault for not asking."

Meg smiled wryly-she was not like Alda or the rest of Frank's harem, who had reason to cling with Frank but kept their demands reasonable. And she was certainly no Fiona Queen, who was downright despicable.

Moreover, Frank had made the choice to give her all of Golden Lily's revenue. Was it really acceptable to demand more from him?

"Well, it's tiring, but it's worthwhile hearing you say that!" she exclaimed. "By the way, you have guests waiting upstairs."

"Guests? When did Mr. Frankton stoop to getting drunk with guests?" Sylvie came over just to tease Frank.

Meg smiled in turn. "That's true—Mr.

Frankton must never work as a bar host, but the guest is someone special. think her name is Sally York, and both Ms. Cahn and Ms. Godot know her. They were very specific about calling you too, but Ms. York said I didn't have to.

"Somehow, she's just very confident that you'd be coming back, and I doubted her at first... but what'd you know? Turns out she's right."

"Got it!"

Frank smiled, patting Meg's head. "Good work."

Meg smiled sweetly-like she had said before, praise from Frank made her effort worthwhile, and she was satisfied with that.

Soon, she led Frank to the room upstairs and unsurprisingly found Sally on the couch, singing horribly out of tune.

On the other hand, Ida and Sadie were standing nearby, glaring at Sally as if ready to attack at any moment, though Sally did not seem to mind.

"See? You believe me now?" Sally smiled at Meg. "No one but me would claim to be friends with Mr. Frankton here. Come on, sit!"

Frank waved, gesturing for Meg, Ida,

ne

and Sadie to leave, while he sat beside Sally. "Your mom's at my place. Drop by to visit when you have the time."

Sally put down the microphone and looked at him sideways. "Have you read One Piece?"

Then, before Frank could respond,

she continued, "None of the

characters have a mother... but if you're including Big Mom and her gang, then pretend I never said anything. Anyway, the author said in an interview that mothers are a burden to adventurers... There's no freedom once you have an

attachment!"

Frank sighed there was nothing wrong with feeling the thirst to leave the nest, but to abandon family was really something else entirely.
