Chapter 275
Silas scrutinized Matthew as if trying to uncover something extraordinary about him.
Matthew felt uneasy under his intense gaze and said, "Can you stop staring at me like that?"
Silas chuckled and remarked, "That president is stunning. She is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. How did you end up with her?" Matthew glanced at Silas.
Even though the latter was in high demand, with several people eager to get a piece of him, he remained calm. Instead of focusing on his predicament, he was more interested in digging up gossip. Matthew responded curtly, "I just went for it." His tone was laced with frustration.
While Matthew was preoccupied with more urgent matters, Silas was busy poking gossiping.
The simplicity of Matthew's response rocked Silas' world. He had always thought beautiful women were haughty and dismissive of ordinary people, yet Matthew's casual response made it all seem too easy. "You just went for it? Won't the other party resist?" Silas asked.
Matthew answered calmly, "No."
Silas muttered to himself, clearly confused. "They won't? Could all those books I've read about winning a woman's heart be right? The shortest path to a woman's heart is... that way?"
At that moment, the elevator doors opened. Matthew stepped out briskly, while Silas seemed lost in thought, still mumbling. Fortunately, he followed Matthew as they made their way to Lambda Villa. Sara stormed into the room frantically. "Where's Hayden? I need to find him right now!"
She had contacted her family. Her father had already sent her brother, Andrew Clark, on a flight, but she felt it wasn't fast enough.
She was determined to get Silas out of there quickly to avoid further issues. But more than anything, she was consumed by the urge to kill Matthew. She wanted him dead.
As the only daughter of the Clark family, she was accustomed to being showered with attention and flattery. But when a mere chauffeur had shown the audacity to spank her a few days ago, she had swallowed her anger for her reputation.
Yet, Matthew slapped her in front of Rachel today. The humiliation was too much to bear. She wouldn't be at ease until she had killed him.
Louis Evans stepped out of the room and immediately noticed the stunning woman before him. His eyes widened with interest. "Are you looking for Mr. Hobbes?"
As a member of one of Lambda
City's top three martial arts families, he was part of an elite group whose existence was known only within the martialarts community. Yet, the general public had never even heard of the Evans family.
Sara nodded. "Yes, I need to see him. Where is he?"
Louis had initially planned to be overly accommodating, but when he realized Sara was an acquaintance of Hayden's, his demeanor became more respectful. "Mr. Hobbes is out for a meal. You should give him a caff."
She extended her hand. "Can I use your phone? I've lost mine."
He quickly dialed the number and handed her the phone.
Sara took the phone, and her eyes were welling up with tears. "It's me, Sara. Someone slapped me..." She started to cry as she spoke.
Hayden's furious voice blared through the receiver. "Who dared to lay a hand on you in Lambda City? Does he have a death wish? I'll be back tomorrow and kill him!"
Sara's anger boiled over at the mention of Matthew. "He's just a worthless chauffeur. I want him dead, and I want it done now."
After a brief pause, Hayden's voice returned. "A chauffeur... It's not worth my time. I'll send someone else to handle it."
After hearing that, Louis saw his chance and said, "I'll do it."
Hayden laughed. "You come from one of Lambda City's top families. Killing a chauffeur seems like a waste of your talents."
Louis said firmly, "As a member of Marvel Organization, I'm ready to strike regardless of a cow, a chicken, or even a mosquito."
Hayden laughed heartily. "Good. Take care of this 'mosquito' first. I have a bigger task in a few days-avenging my family members. You'll join me."noveldrama
Hayden's main goals in Lambda City were to establish Marvel Organization and avenge his father's deceased sons.
Even though Jeffrey and Sheldon
weren't from the Hobbes family, Hayden was committed to honoring Henry's wishes. He planned to use the formation of Marvel
ver
Organization to exact this revenge and build its reputation.
Louis was thrilled to be chosen as a trusted ally. He replied eagerly, "Thank you, Mr. Hobbes. I won't let you down."
After ending the call, he turned to Sara. "Let's go. Just tell me who you want to kill today, and I'll make it happen."
