Chapter 527
Luring Horace over? Dallas looked utterly shocked as if he'd seen a ghost in broad daylight. It was Horace they were talking about the general who commanded thousands of troops.
Dallas wasn't the only one. Even Sebastian, who stood next to Matthew, was astonished.
What was Matthew up to? He had already offended a big shot and had no way out. Why did he lure the prominent figure over? Was he trying to get himself killed faster?
Matthew gradually raised the Apex Blade, and blood trickled down from it.
As the blade was lifted, blood droplets slid along the fullers toward the hilt, only to be stopped by the guard. It then fell from the dark metal guard onto the floor.
Dallas was in so much pain that sweat poured from his forehead, and he was trembling all over.
As the Apex Blade hovered above Dallas' head, he was scared out of his wits.
"Y-you can't kill me. Horace has an army in his command and has unrivaled authority. The mayor found this location for me when I established this psychiatric hospital.
"Even the mayor has to suck up to him. If you dare disrespect him, you'll meet a terrible end."
After a swoosh, the Apex Blade sank into Dallas' leg again. Dallas immediately shut his mouth, his gaze fixed on the blade buried in his thigh with disbelief. How did he have the nerve to do that?
An excruciating pain overwhelmed Dallas' senses and flooded his mind. His vision went dark, and he fainted.
In no time, the intense pain brought him back to consciousness, and he saw Matthew pulling out the blade.
The cold, narrow Apex Blade was slowly drawn out of his thigh, inch by inch. Blood poured out quickly from the blade, soaking his pants red in an instant. The pain made him tremble involuntarily.
Matthew pronounced each word slowly. "Are you still going to threaten me with Horace?"
Dallas was in unbearable pain, but the little reason he had left told him that Horace's authority wouldn't intimidate Matthew.
He shouted in a panic, "I won't bring up Horace to threaten you anymore! I'll never mention him again!"
However, Matthew casually
remarked, "A
wanted was to have
a conversation and ask you a couple of questions, but you act like you're untouchable because you know Horace. You only learn to talk sense after taking a stab. What a stubborn fool."
After being berated, Dallas clenched his jaw in silence. He was truly scared. Matthew swung his blade without hesitation. How was he so brutal?
Matthew continued, "Can have a proper talk now?"noveldrama
Dallas writhed in pain. "It hurts. I can't take it anymore. Please spare me some painkillers. The pain is killing me. I'm not playing any tricks right now. I beg you."
Matthew walked over to the medicine cabinet and rummaged through the bottles and jars.
Spotting some tramadol injections, he quickly popped two vials and administered them to Dallas
The drug worked quickly to relieve the pain, and Dallas' expression relaxed considerably. But when he saw the blood seeping out of his wound, his fear only
grew.
Dallas desperately pleaded, "Can you stop the bleeding and bandage me? I can't keep losing blood. I'll die."
Matthew scoffed. "Stop wasting my
time. If you're not going to spill, I
won't bother asking anymore. K
take your life in one strike, and we'll
both be done with it."
As Matthew spoke, he slowly raised the Apex Blade in his hand. Under the light,
the bloodstained blade gleamed with an eerie red glow.
Dallas was shaken to his core. "Wait! Don't do it. Just ask away. I'll tell you everything."
What do you think?
