Chapter 398
Kitai shivered, his voice filled with urgency, "Boss, you're about to get engaged, and Mr. Pollack is still seen with other women? I overheard - she doesn't share the Pollack name, nor is she your sister. Definitely not a lady from the Pollack family!"
"Boss, don't let him deceive you!"
Kitai felt like crying.
Azure's sales were booming this quarter!
Could it be trouble with the Schnabel family?
Bankruptcy looming?
Had their boss resorted to leveraging charm and marriage to save their legacy?
Kitai was nearly scared out of his wits by his own thoughts.
"Boss, don't settle for less. If the Schnabel family is really going under, you've still got Azure! Worst case, we'll just take off!"
That's when he realized their boss was too kind-hearted to even consider fleeing.
"Boss, this is killing me!"
"...Send me the location. I'll be there in a flash. Better wash up and wait."
Kitai sneezed fiercely a few times.
Twenty minutes later, Noella nudged Kitai, who was crouched in a corner.
"I asked you to keep watch, not to play the part of a mouse. Where's this person you mentioned?"
Kitai, nursing his pride, pointed not far off.
Several ferries were docked, with guards watching over Azure's imported fabrics.
"I was worried about the fabric, so I decided to check it out myself. They haven't delivered yet, and I don't know what's the hold-up."
The high-end fabrics ordered from abroad had to undergo strict inspections.
Now, despite passing inspections, they were being held at the port!
"Boss, see those kids? They've been loitering around here, and they don't seem like they're from the local fishing families."
A group of kids, around ten years of age, were running back and forth near the boxes of fabric.
Noella's gaze locked onto the kid in the lead!
She recognized him instantly as the child who appeared at the hotel with Oriana Baker. Noella's eyes narrowed.
Her instincts screamed caution at the sight of such children!
After some digging, Noella found out that Dan's past girlfriends all vanished under mysterious circumstances, seemingly breaking up with Dan. But just some low-profile lovers, no one really cared about their fate.
However, Noella knew this was no ordinary child.
"Boss, that's your man, right?"
Kitai's tone was laced with disbelief.
Following Kitai's gaze, a tall, imposing man stood on the pier, the sea waves crashing against the rocks, stirring up foam.
Yet the man remained unshaken, with several kids affectionately clinging to Palmer's legs.
A stylishly dressed woman followed off the ferry, leaving Kitai puzzled, "Eh, that wasn't the woman I saw earlier?"
"Boss, does your man have multiple girlfriends and kids?"
Noella glared coldly at him, "Let's go up and find out."
Kitai instantly gave Noella a thumbs-up.
That's his boss for you, facing such a situation head-on!
"A true warrior, brave enough to face the bleakness of life, daring to confront a cheating man!"
Noella cracked her knuckles, then coldly said, "If you've got so much free time, any issues with this fabric shipment will come out of your salary." That shipment was worth half a year of Kitai's salary!
"No, boss!"
Noella turned away, resisting the urge to thrash her employee right there.
She strode towards the pier, her skirt lifted by the sea breeze, her graceful posture exuding a carefree charm.
The kids hugging Palmer's legs stared up at Noella with wide eyes.
"Uncle, look! A pretty lady!"
"A fairy lady!"
Palmer's gaze softened as he looked at Noella, correcting the kids with a gentle voice, "That's your aunt, not just some lady. Get your relations right."
Noella smirked.
"I heard you had kids, had to see for myself."

These are my kids, here for your and Palmer's engagement party."
3 Palmer's cousin's wife.
"I wasn't mistaken."
The only ones Palmer would personally greet were Megan Barth's grandchildren, who Kitai must've mistaken for someone else earlier.
Kitai's jaw dropped.
"...What?"
So, he was wrong?
These were indeed Pollack family members!
These children were here to visit their ailing great-grandfather, Sexton.
With the patriarch's time running short, his greatest wish was to see his great-grandchildren, who usually lived abroad.
The youngest of the Pollack great-grandchildren, just five years old, rushed to hug Noella's leg, his big eyes sparkling.
"Auntie, hug!"
Palmer lifted him, "Cheeky brat, this is my wife. Go find your own wife for hugs."
"Uncle's shameless, I'm only five! You're the weird one, getting jealous of a baby! The TV says that's a sign of a problem."
Noella chuckled, pinching the child's cheek.
"Why are you here? It's windy at the port, and you're not wearing enough."
"Didn't I say? I came to catch you."
Palmer laughed, his gaze never leaving Noella, shaking his head slowly.
"You wouldn't. Noella isn't that impulsive, and I'm not that untrustworthy."
"That confident?"
"It's about trust, Noella. Trusting that you'll choose to trust me."
Kitai slapped his forehead, showing Noella his phone, "Boss, those kids sneaked into our warehouse!"
He knew those kids were up to no good, sneaking around!
A port official rushed up, sweating profusely.
"Are you in charge of Azure? Some kids said their friend got locked in your warehouse!"
Noella furrowed her brow slightly. "If the fabric shipment at customs has already been cleared, why the hold-up?"
"Someone flagged that batch for potential issues! We need you to come with us for further inquiry."
"If there's an issue, why not just call Azure directly? What's the reason for the report and the procedures for the hold?"
The customs officer seemed to grow impatient.
"We've told you there's an issue.
Just
withhe with us, will you? What's
you're
some kind of fashion guru?"
Noella fixed a steady gaze on the officer and extended her hand.
"Your badge, please? How do I know you're legit? I can't just go with you without proper identification."
"I'm in uniform, isn't that enough? Do you want your fabric back or not?"
Noella held his gaze for a moment longer before relenting, "Alright, I'll come with you."
At that, Palmer's little one leaned closer, wrapping their arms around Noella's hand. "I'm coming too! I'm coming too!"
"And I'm coming as well," Palmer chimed in, "can't let our Noella face this alone!"
