The Last Ceo’s Deal

Chapter 54: It’s not true

Christine Pov

Christine, wait!”

A familiar baritone calls from somewhere behind me and I turn around. It’s the same guy from last night. He looks even more handsome in white shorts and a singlet and his musculature is very defined.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

I’m walking on the private beach after staying in the hotel room the whole day. I don’t want to think about Fanuel or the fact that he is meeting the one woman I detest so much, so I just decided to go for a walk and maybe a quick swim.

The guy from last night is looking at me with an amused expression.

“You like what you see?” He asks with a grin and I blush from head to toe. He just caught me checking him out.

It’s totally worth it though.

He is a foot shorter than Fanuel and his jawline isn’t as defined but he is good looking in every aspect.

“Is your husband coming down?” He asks when I remain quiet.

“No, I’m alone.”

He smiles widely. Something is somehow off about him.

“Where is he?”

“Why are you asking?”

“I’m just curious, you know. You guys just got married. I really don’t understand why he’s letting you out of his sight. As I said last night, you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”

“My husband is a busy man.” I say quickly, stepping into Fanuel’s defense. I don’t want to discuss him with a stranger.

“Too busy for you?” He asks with a cocked bro.

“I really don’t want to discuss my marriage with you. It’s kind of private.” I say with a nervous smile and he shrugs.

“Fine. So let’s walk then?”

“Sure.” I turn to go and he falls into step beside me.

“I’m Alex by the way.” He says while giving me a sideways glance.

“Christine.”

“I already know your name.”

I grin at that. “Of course you do. Stalking much?”

He shrugs. “I would do anything to know more about you.”

Something clicks into my head and I whip around to stare at him. He turns to face me with raised brows.

“What’s wrong Christine?”

I take a step backwards.

“You… I remember you. You are the guy who was holding me from behind at my wedding the other day. Fanuel was so mad about the whole thing… What the hell are you doing here?”

I’m alarmed and adrenaline is pumping through me. This is the guy that Fanuel insisted I should stay away from. How dumb was I not to remember him instantly?

He surprises me when he bursts out laughing.

“If I were you, I would not listen to anything Fanuel says.”

I cross my hands. “You should leave me alone. I’m going back to the hotel room to get Fanuel.”

He takes a step towards me.

“I know he flew back to the city this morning.”

My skin prickles with fear. This can’t be good.

“How do you know that?”

“It doesn’t matter. I’ll show you something.”

He takes his phone out of his shorts pockets and flicks it open. His fingers move deftly over the screen typing away before handing me the phone.

I stare at the headline and the photo beneath it for a whole minute, my head spinning like crazy.

“This is bullshit. We all know that bloggers are full of shit.” I squeak eventually.

“It’s not bullshit Christine. We can call the girl to confirm. I know her.”

I gasp. “How do you know her?”

“She’s my Friend.”

I take quick breaths. I don’t want to hyperventilate.

“Call her. It’s not true.”

He grins. “So quick to prove his innocence, huh? Fanuel doesn’t deserve you.”

“Just make the damn call Alex!.”

“Fine.”

He dials a number and I hold my breath as we wait for it to be answered, the headline rolling over in my head:

*Fanuel Hudson was caught cheating on his wife two days after their grand wedding.*

And underneath it, a photo of Fanuel, his lips locked in a kiss with a blond haired girl whose face is hidden.

I know the photo is recent because he is in the same clothes he wore in the morning before he left.
