45: The Lennox Family

CHAPTER 45: The Lennox Family

ALPHA KARIUS, TOGETHER with the pack warriors decided to guard the places that rogues would

possibly attack. He doubled the security of his pack, especially the school of pups since that's the last

place where there's a rogue attack.

Meanwhile, Lilian doesn't even know how she was able to get back to Alpha Karius' mansion that day.

She was still confused about her conversation with Jackson. And what she doesn't really believe that

much is the part where Jackson said that she's the wolf that has been rewarded by the moon goddess

to end the darkness in this world! It's really impossible. She's just an ordinary omega, nothing is really

special with her.

But aside from that, what she found out about Alpha Karius being a half demon still bugs her mind. She

needs proof in order to believe it. But the other part of her brain is also saying that it's not true. He's not

a demon. Maybe Jackson was just playing with her mind or lying to her. But then Jackson is not a man

like that. He's not the type that would really play around.

already six in the evening when she reached the house. She had fun talking with the wolves in the

village though, even if she didn't look and talk to Jackson anymore after their conversation near the

falls.

"He informed me earlier that he will be late in going home, Luna. He will guard the whole area together

with the pack warriors."

She nodded. "Okay. I'll use the library, then."

"Uh... may I know why, Luna?" Nadia's brows furrowed. She doesn't know why Luna Lilian suddenly

wants to use the library. And also, Alpha Karius doesn't really let anyone enter his library that much

unless he has permission. But then it's the Luna... so maybe he won't make that much fuss about it?

Maybe Alpha Karius won't be mad...

She raised a brow. "Why are you even asking? Of course, I'd like to read something. I'm kinda bored..."

Her tone was a bit annoyed, and it was enough to make Nadia scared.

"I'm sorry, Luna..." Nadia bowed her head, afraid that she annoyed the Luna. "I'll just go back to my

work." She's about to go but then an idea suddenly comes to Lilian's mind.

"Oh, wait, Nadia." Lilian called and stopped her.

"What is it, Luna?" Nadia's brows furrowed a bit.

"Hmm. How long have you been working for Alpha Karius?" she asked her curiously.

Nadia tilted her head a bit as if she was thinking about Lilian's sudden question. "I couldn't remember

exactly anymore but I've been here ever since Alpha Karius was still a kid. I started working for their

family when I was still a teen, Luna," she answered. Even though Nadia was actually curious why Lilian

suddenly asked her about it, she didn't voice out about it anymore, afraid that she might just annoy her

even more.

Lilian nodded, a conclusion suddenly came to her mind. If there's someone that has knowledge about

Alpha Karius' family, that would be Nadia. Maybe she could ask her some questions the next day. She

will use her authority as the Luna fot Nadia to not tell their conversation to anyone if ever.

"Okay. That's... all. You may go back now," Lilian said and even smiled a bit that really surprised Nadia.

After a couple of seconds, Lilian immediately went to the library of Alpha Karius' house. As soon as she

entered the library, she couldn't help but to feel amazed knowing how large the shelves were. It was full

of books and some were already old which were separated to other shelves. There's a table at the

corner near the glass window making the light outside penetrate the insides of the library. There are

some piles of papers above it and a lampshade. She went to it closer and her brows furrowed when

she saw the frame on the left side of the table.

It was her, smiling widely but she's not looking at the camera. It was a candid picture of her and she's

not even aware if Alpha Karius took it.

Her cheeks heated instantly. How could he even display her picture there? Her wolf is even liking the

idea of Alpha Karius displaying her picture which made her roll her eyes despite the fast beating of her

heart.

Lilian just averted her gaze from the picture frame to some other things and focused her mind to her

real purpose why she's there.

She doesn't have the time to check more things anymore and starts finding some things that may prove

that Alpha Karius might really be a... half demon. She couldn't accept it. She needs proof. If ever that

it's even true... she's not sure anymore if what she is going to do in the future.

"Damn, where should I start?" She asked herself looking at the shelves full of books before sighing

deeply. She doesn't really know where to start since the library was so wide!

Her eyes went to the old books at the far corner shelf. Well, if it's about the history of Alpha Karius'

family, maybe it's there on the old ones, right?

So, that's the first spot of Lilian to find some proof. She opened some books and some of them are

written in a different language which made her really curse in her head. She doesn't know how to read

it! She doesn't have any other choice but to look for the other books instead of sticking on trying to read

the same book.

A certain book caught her attention. It was a book with black hardbound cover. It has no cover page

which is really odd. She opened it and was surprised to see that what's inside is some photographs of

Alpha Karius when he was young. This is him, he's sure about it. Her wolf could even recognize him.

"How cute..." Lilian couldn't even help but to comment since she's not even expecting it that it was him!

He looked chubby in the pictures when he was young. A grin formed on her lips while looking at those

pictures.

She flipped some pages and the pictures are mostly about him with a short paragraph written below.

Even the tiniest details are also written there, from the favorite animal he loved to draw when he was

young, to some of the significance happenings in his life. It was all there. But what really caught her

attention is the certain page where it has been ripped off from the book. It was as if someone just

purposely ripped it since the next pages are still intact on the book.

"Okay... that's odd." Her brow raised a bit on what she saw before she moved to the other books.

"Found it," she whispered to herself when she saw the book with a 'Lennox Family' written on the cover

page. She just hopes that the answer that she has been looking for is here.

At the first pages, it was written there the origin of the Lennox family's surname. Their main root is

mostly from England. It was said that they are one of the wealthiest clan of wolves even before since

their ancestors believed that they were hiding gold bars in a safe place where only a few of the family

could access.

Lilian decided to flip the next pages and gasped. The next pages show the family tree of the whole

Lennox family and their mates, from their first ancestors down to Alpha Karius. The side of Alpha

Karius is still empty, which means the book is not updated. Above Alpha Karius is her mother and

father and then above them is an old woman... without a man beside her. It looks like it was her

grandmother. Her name is Margareth Belaya Lennox. But why is the picture of her mate not there? It

doesn't make sense.

"Is she mateless?" Lilian asked as her brows furrowed. If she's mateless then... How come that she has

a son? Or... was she impregnated by a wolf that's not even her mate? That's another possible reason

but she doesn't want to jump into conclusion without reading more about it.

She tried flipping the page again and gulped. For some reason, sweat started to trickle down the side

of her face. She's suddenly getting nervous about the next thing that she will find out and she doesn't

even know why!

Lilian was trembling as she flipped the next pages of the book and another gasp escaped from her

lips.

It was written there why Magareth Belaya Lennox didn't publicize her mate. It was because she was...

violated by a demon.

Lilian doesn't know what to feel anymore. Her insides are grumbling on what she just found out as the

hairs on her nape rose. Her eyes widened in so much shock. Goodness! She suddenly regretted what

she's doing right now.

Even though she was trembling so hard already, she still flipped the next page. And there... The page

had some information about Alpha Karius' father. It was written there his achievements and everything

that he did when he was still the Alpha of the Moon Stone pack. But then it was also written there that

after her mother, Margareth gave birth to him, she died.

And it was then found out that the demon's blood wasn't running in Alpha Karius' father's veins that

maybe, he wasn't able to inherit it. Some witch was able to examine him and they all confirmed that he

doesn't have the demon's blood that violated his mother, Margareth.

But that only leads to another possibility that Alpha Karius was maybe the one who inherited the

demon's blood instead.

"Fuck..." Lilian cursed as she closed the book with her trembling hands. She can't continue the next

page anymore. She suddenly doesn't want to confirm it because she's sure to herself that she won't be

able to accept it.

After sighing deeply and calming herself, she was about to put back the book but she ended up putting

it behind her when the door of the library suddenly opened, revealing Alpha Karius.

"Hi, love..." he greeted with a small smile on his lips.

Lilian suddenly felt... cold. She doesn't know how to even react around him anymore.
