“Dad…” She spoke, and her voice came like a hoarse one. Christian gave her water to drink. “Where… where is my.. Pup?” She asked the first thing that was on her mind.
“Hey!! Even I’m here. Don’t ignore me like I’m Miss Invisible.” Reva whined, changing the topic. She didn’t know what exactly her parents did in the past. All she was told was that both pups of Ethlyn couldn’t make it. Ethlyn watched her sister carefully, who didn’t look like a teenager anymore but a grown-up woman.
‘How long I was out?’ She wondered.
“Ethlyn, baby!! You just woke up and started worrying again, just like yesterday. You should take some rest.” Christian added, caressing his daughter’s hair. “Reva, go and call the doctor.”
“Okay, dad.”
“I.. I feel like… I’ve been resting for years,” Ethlyn replied with a sigh. She tried to lift her hand, but it looked li had been jammed. “You and Reva look.. looks older. What’s the date today?” She questioned, trying to keep her eyes open.
“28th September.”
“28th September?” Ethlyn looked at his father in surprise. “I was out for around eight months. Maybe because I healed at the speed of a human, that’s why. I remembered Cinder sacrificing her life to save our pup because of extreme internal bleeding.” She concluded and felt empty because of the lack of her wolf. “My pup is a boy… or girl, dad?”
“I… I couldn’t find his or her gender on the day when it was going to be relieved.” She muttered and recalled the horrible memories of her life. “After a few couples, he or she will be one.” Ethlyn smiled, thinking that she was feeling slight pain in her brain because of the surgery, which hadn’t healed properly.
“What… what is his or her name, dad?” She asked again.
Throughout the time, she was asking about her pup, and Christian couldn’t just break the news to her that her pups were no more, which was planned by Abigail. He had no idea how she would take that news, not when it was asked not to stress her about anything.
Before Christian would have answered her, the doctor walked in to check on her along with Abigail.
“Oh, Moon Goddess, she is now finally awake for real,” Abigail exclaimed without catching her breath. It looked like she did a little marathon to reach near her. The doctor checked her vitals and shined a small flashlight in front of her eyes, and moved his finger.
“Ms. Smith, can you hear me? Can you follow my finger, please?” The doctor asked to which Ethlyn narrowed her eyes. Didn’t the other doctor ask almost the same question when she woke up yesterday? But she nodded her head. After a couple of minutes, even Nathan came with his mother into her room, knowing that she was awake. By observing every one of her packs, she realized that she was in her previous pack and also the fact that there was a higher chance that she had slept for just eight months.
‘All my family members are here, then where is my pup? Is he or she with some nanny at home?’ She wondered and observed everyone’s expression, and which was happy to see her. Her father wasn’t legging go of her hand and stayed by her side as long as the medical team kept checking on her again.
“As expected, her vitals are normal, and she is indeed completely awake.” The doctor said with a smile. “I told you the success rate of Doctor Wayne is 99. 8%. Ms. Smith was being treated by the best.” He added before asking Ethlyn, “How do you feel, Ethlyn?”
“Drowsy but… better than yesterday.”
Behind the doctor, Reva squealed, totally excited.
“Great. Welcome back to second life, Ms. Smith.” Saying this, the doctor left. Ethlyn narrowed her eyes, recalling the doctor that she met yesterday. She complained to him about her body feeling heavy, on which he had said.
‘That is perfectly normal in your condition. We will have to work on your reeducation, of course, but overall, this is… That is a great return. And your body takes some time to adjust, but it will for sure.’
“Ethlynn!!!” Reva almost jumped on her sister to hug her.
“Reva! Careful.” Abigail scolded her and then reached near her daughter to touch her and feel her after years, while Ethlyn just observed everyone silently.
“How do you feel, sweetheart?” Asked Abigail in a soft voice.
“I’m okay, Mom. But… what happened to you all? You all look so different, especially Reva. She looks like a lady of nineteen or twenty years old instead of just sixteen, even her figure….”
“I know. I look sexy now.” Reva said, posing like a model with a pout.
“Just in eight months, you turned from a teenage to a woman?” Ethlyn asked, still trying to absorb this news. Reva laughed awkwardly and looked at everyone.

“Tell me what?” Ethlyn questioned. “Are you on some medicine to increase your breast and look adult or have you gone through some… some surgery?” She asked.
When Christian signaled Reva to go ahead, she spoke, “Ethlyn, I’m sorry to say that both your assumption is wrong. I look like a grown-up lady because I’m now really a grown-up. You just didn’t miss eight months of your life, but you missed four years and eight months of your life. You stayed in the coma for 56 months and over 8-9 days, sister.”
‘Moon Goddess… almost five years? I was asleep for that long. I… I missed so much related to my pup. I would have to apologize to him or her, and what if he or she wouldn’t forgive me?’
