You know what I find fascinating?’ I run my finger through the dirt on the floor when Ghost starts to
whisper to me, I’m collecting it up into a little pile. I have no idea why I’m doing it, I guess I’m trying to
keep my mind busy, Heath has been passed out since he was put back in the
cage.
‘What?’ I snap at my wolf as I blow a little and the little dirt pile spreads across the floor again.
“The only thing keeping us bound is this silver cage, notice how he hasn’t given you anything with silver
in it for two days now.’ Ghost is whispering but I have no idea why considering I’m the only one who
can hear her..
‘Yeah, so?’ I have to admit I’m scared, tired, hungry and a little cold, which is making me much
grumpier than normal.
‘At some point you need to learn from me like I’ve learned from you.’ I feel her nudge-me as she starts
to get annoyed.
‘Like what? At the moment I just wish I could sleep, maybe then I could speak to Cas or even Anna,
then one of them could come and save us.’ I don’t know how I get into people’s dreams but right now I
wish I could sleep so I could try.
‘You don’t need them, we are Omega. Sure having our Pack around makes us stronger and we
strengthen them in return but Eva, you are strong on your own too.’ I sit up as Ghost tries to fill me with
a hope

that is not my own, I know it’s coming from her so it feels artificial, like I’ve drunk a load of wine and
suddenly think I’m invincible.
‘So? What does my designation have to do with anything that is happening right now?’ I glance over at
Heath and see he’s still face down on the floor, I wish I could reach out to soothe him, after my time
with Cas I know that what me and Jeremy had wasn’t love. I know what it’s like to have someone
invade your body when you don’t want it to happen.
‘He didn’t, I felt his wolf the whole time. He wasn’t hurt like that, Jeremy is just playing mind games with
you.’ I let out a small sigh of relief but it’s short lived. I wonder what he did to make him scream out in
pain like he did. ‘Eva listen to me, next time you are out of this cage give me control. I can get us out of
here, you might be all sweet and innocent but I’m not.’ Before I can respond to Ghost’s firm words,
Heath makes a noise like a groan and rolls over onto his back.
“Luna?” I get as close to the bar as I dare and peer over at him, it’s dark- so I’m struggling to see him
but I can make out his outline. “You alright?” Heath sounds like he’s still in pain as he groans loudly
again and draws his arm up to his chest.
“Never mind me, what did he do to you?” I keep my voice low in case someone is listening and comes
back in now he’s awake.
“I’m fine, just missing a finger nail or two, we need to get out of this silver so I can rip these f uckers
apart.” The anger in his voice is unmistakable as he sits himself up, he hisses as he leans back on the
silver bars and quickly leans himself forward.
“I thought,” I look over at the space where Jeremy had the table. “I thought he did more, I thought the
worse.” Heath’s glowing yellow eyes look at me from his cage, he must be in a lot of pain for his wolf

to be so close to the surface.
“I’m alright, Eva. I promise,” he shuffles along the floor and reaches his hand through the bar. He holds
my hand gently in his offering some much needed support. “We will get out of here, I wish I could do
more, he injected me with something. I can feel it affecting my wolf, he’s howling in pain.”
“Ghost said she can get out,” I lower my voice even further, “I just need to get out of this cage, she said
she can take care of the rest.” I can see Heath shaking his head no before I even finish speaking.
“You have no training Eva, sure you took down a rogue in that clearing but there are countless rogues
in this building. I’d struggle against them all alone, there is no way your wolf will be able to do it alone.”
I feel my shoulders sag, I know he’s not trying to be mean he’s just stating a fact, I can feel Ghost
getting annoyed.
“She was so sure.” I stop talking and scoot back in my cage as I hear footsteps on the stairs, glancing
over at Heath I can see he is in the same spot but he looks almost bigger like he has puffed himself up
somehow.
“Can’t
go
in there,” the mu ffled male voice sounds from the other side of the door to the basement. I sniff to try
and pick up who it is but I need not have bothered once I feel Martha through the Pack link.
“She’s carrying my son’s pup, I’m not going to hurt her.” I want to scream out that although Martha
sounds sweet and innocent, she’s lying through her d amn teeth.
“Fine but make it quick.” The squeak of the door and the overpowering smell of Gin and fake lavender
sweeps into the room a split second before Marth does. She quickly closes the door behind her and
flicks on the light, both me and Heath hold a hand up covering our eyes
against the blinding light.
“Go d look at you two.” She quite literally bends over and starts. laughing so hard tears roll down her
face.
“Pi ss off Martha.” Heath’s growl is a warning but not much of one considering she knows there isn’t
much we can do to her from here.
“Oh I don’t think so, me and Eva have some things to chat about. Girl to girl.” She swipes at her face as
she heads over to the shelves and picks up a pair of gloves, sliding them onto her hands as she comes
over to my cage.
“Don’t do this Martha, stop now and Cas might just banish you.” Even I can hear the lie in Heath’s
voice, we all know there is no way Martha is getting out of this alive.
“You remember Sookie? “I nod my head at her as she leans down at my cage door and starts to move
the tumbler lock, “me and Vince found her last week. Hung herself, without a Pack and Cas she killed
herself.” My mouth becomes dry as Martha unclips the lock, “she was going to be my daughter, you
took her from me just like you stole my son.” I scuttle back on my as s as she leans into the cage and
grabs hold of my hair. With her tight grip she pulls and I have no choice but to crawl from the cage or
risk losing my hair to her red painted talons.
“Martha, stop!” Heath urges her as she drags me further into the basement, I claw at her hands but she
just keeps going until she lets me go in the middle of the room. She steps back and just looks down at
me, leaning forward she sniffs deeply before her face goes bright red.
“It’s actually in there,” she spins away from me and starts to pull at her dark hair making it a more of a
mess than it already is. “How many times?” I look over at Heath but he shakes his head with a look of
anger on his face, I have no idea what she’s asking me. “How many

times did you trick my son into f ucking you?” She roars as she spins on me, I lean back away from her
but it’s not like I have many places to go.
“None, I didn’t trick him.” I stammer, I can feel myself turn red at being asked this while buck naked in a
basement with Heath watching on.
‘Eva, careful.’ Heath’s voice comes over the Pack link just as Martha. realises she is trapped with an Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
angry white wolf.
‘She threatened my pup, she hurt Eva. She’s mine.’ I try to answer Heath but Ghost shuts me up and
responds to him in a growl before locking him out.
“Oh so now the rogue appears, you kill me and he will never forgive you.” Martha tries to sound brave
but I can smell the fear rolling off her, “what will you do? Not like you can go anywhere, it will just be
you, him and my dead body.” She’s trying to talk Ghost down as she watches her walk in a circle, I can
feel Ghost analysing her almost like she’s trying to find Martha’s weak spots.
