Chapter 540
In the end, Noelle accepted the gift Dylan had given to Rosie. However, Rosie
didn't like the diamond hairpin. After glancing at it a couple of times, she placed it in a drawer in her room.
"Aren't you going to take it with you?" Noelle asked her.
Rosie shook her head.
"If you don't like it, should I return it to Mr. Pritchett later?"
"Okay," Rosie agreed without hesitation.
Noelle found this strange. "I thought you liked Mr. Pritchett. So, how could you not like the gift he gave you?"
At her words, Rosie's expression shifted slightly. Then, she said, "I do like Mr. Pritchett. I just don't like the gift he got me."
Noelle narrowed her eyes.
Rosie quickly turned her head to avoid meeting her gaze. "I still prefer plushies. Mom, can you tell Mr. Pritchett to get me a bunny plushie next time?"
As Rosie's mother, Noelle could naturally sense that something was off. But she didn't press further, simply agreeing to Rosie's request.
It had already been decided that Dylan would take them to the airport the next day. But Noelle hadn't expected Hendrix to show up as well.
And unlike Dylan, Hendrix's identity was different. He was, after all, Rosie's father. Without a word, he went upstairs and proceeded to carry their suitcases down.
Noelle was momentarily stunned, then quickly moved to stop him.
Just then, Dylan arrived in his car. A deep frown immediately appeared on his forehead when he saw Hendrix was also there. He got out of the car and walked over to the two of them, reaching for the suitcases.
"Where's Rosie? Hasn't she come
down yet?" His tone was casual, as if he were treating Hendrix like a
household staff who had merely carried the suitcases downstairs.

But before Dylan could touch the suitcases, Hendrix stepped back to avoid his reach.
"Mr. Pritchett, it's very thoughtful of you to come all the way here," Hendrix said. "But we won't trouble you any further. I'll take them to the airport instead."
"It's no trouble at all," Dylan replied.
"As long as Noelle needs me, I'll
always have time. Besides, I already promised Rosie last night that 'd
take them to the airport today."

"Is that so? But that was before I agreed to it. Now that I'm here, there's no need
to trouble you, is there, Mr. Pritchett?"
Both men were smiling, but beneath their calm conversation, tensions crackled sharply.
When Beatrice came out holding Rosie's hand, she happened to witness this scene. Naturally, she sided with Hendrix.
After taking a glance at Dylan, she walked over without hesitation and said with a smile, "Mr. Pritchett, what brings you here today?"noveldrama
"Hello, Mrs. Freeman," Dylan greeted her politely. "I'm here to take Noelle and Rosie to the airport."
"Oh, I see. But Hendrix is already here, and he's Rosie's father, after all. So, don't
you think it's more appropriate for him to take them?"
Beatrice put on a conflicted expression, but in reality, she was clearly taking Hendrix's side.
Dylan, however, showed no signs of backing down. He simply turned to Noelle and said, "Noelle, why don't you make the decision? Who do you want to take you to the airport?"
As soon as he asked that question, everyone turned to look at Noelle.
To be honest, Noelle really despised being put into such situations.
What do you think?
