Chapter 143
RYN
Chaos.
I watched as people screamed and ran up the steps to the main door. Some were even merciless as they pushed themselves to the floor and stumped on each other to get out.
Meanwhile, Elite soldiers rushed into the scene and so did Theon and Miro.
Right in the floor to ceiling glass window, there was an enormous gaping hole and in the distance, we could all see the beast running with Olive caught between its teeth.
"HOW THE HELL DID A MUTANT GET PAST SECURITY?!" The King bellowed, his face red in anger! "You!" He pointed to one elite soldier. "And you! And all of you!" He growled. "YOU'RE ALL FIRED!"
The men glanced at themselves, their faces etched in worry. Theon and Miro peered out of the gaping hole and shared a glance.
"You!" The Alpha King snarled, lunging for Miro who had borrowed an elite soldier's black top to wear. Grabbing his son by the collar, the King bent him over the gaping hole and right over a dangerously sharp jagged glass, so that Miro's upper body was half- outside in the wind.
"Father." Theon began weakly.
"Shut it!" The King snarled at Theon, seemingly at his highest decibel for yelling, and might be anywhere close to a heart attack.
He turned back to Miro.
"This is all your fault!" The King snarled. "You good-for-nothing piece of crap!"
Miro glared at his father. "How Dad? Seems your precious Olive pissed off the mutants with what he knows."
The King snarled in reply, before pulling Miro in and slamming his back against a wall. "I don't care for Olive. I need to know what he knows and if you hadn't gone insane and fought him, I would have had that secret by now!" Miro simply stared, unapologetic, in his gaze.
"You must go and find him and bring him back alive!" The King pointed in his face.
"We could be too late, Father." Theon answered. "Besides, mutants are highly dangerous. Miro can't face them on his own."
"I don't care." The Alpha King answered, his wolf demonizing the depth of his voice. "Find Olive and bring him back alive or I will make your lives a living hell, and trust me, that is a threat, and you do NOT want to play with me on that threat!" An unpleasant shiver went down my spine as I felt the aura of the King permeate the room.
Theon and Miro exchanged a glance and once again, I felt terrible for being the reason why they were in this mess.
I am trouble. I am always trouble, and I don't deserve to be in their lives.
"I'm coming with you." Theon said as Miro removed his top and worked on his belt buckle.
"Me too." Adam said, as he removed his shoes,
Every other Elite joined in and after a few minutes, a small army had formed.

Theon and Miro walked towards the window which had now been removed of all jagged glass, and as they moved in sync, their bodies grew in proportion until they were completely transformed into their lycan forms. "Mine!" My wolf stirred, and yearned for them.
Goddess! Not now. I pinched the bridge of my nose.
The last thing I needed nor wanted to do was claim them when just brought cha
into their lives.
As expected, the twins' lycan form was bigger than everyone else's but before they jumped out the window, Theon turned and looked at me with glowing red eyes.
My breath hitched, watching him hesitate
d I wondered if he felt the mate call too."
Unfortunately, the Alpha King traced his stare to me, and his face twisted in rage.
"GO!" He ordered his son and that's when Theon jumped after Miro, running at full speed next to his brother.
Over a dozen Elites followed after them and as everyone else stood around wondering what to do, I got an idea.
I turned to Sadie. "How do you feel about a drive?"
Sadie glanced at her parents who were preoccupied in conversation with the other families, then she nodded her affirmation and in no time, we were sneaking past her parents, through crowds and out the hall. "Where did they go?" Sadie asked as she got in the driver's seat of my car.
"East!" I stated as I buckled the seat belt and Sadie turned on the ignition.
Soon we were cruising down a lone highway, following behind the Elites in their lycan form, as they ran at crazy speeds through open fields.
At some point, Sadie had to step on the gas just so we could meet up.
As she continued driving, I reached in the back seat and brought out some spare clothes that had been intended for Miro's secret mission.
With some difficulty, I managed to change from the evening ball down, into dark jean shorts and a dark top.
Eventually, more woods separated us until we couldn't see the soldiers again and we had to park somewhere. Sadie looked at me as I unbuckled the seat belt.
"I'm sorry, I can't go further." She said, with a creased forehead. I am not that strong in my
wolf."
I smiled at her before holding her hand. "You did good, Sadie. Thank you." I said, before exiting the car.
Coming down, I looked right and left, before going on to the other side. There, I opened the passenger side and brought out a backpack, filled with fight and survival stuff.
After wearing it, I closed the door and went to Sadie. "It's not safe for you to stay here so, circle back to the Lunar Hall. I will find you there."
"Is that a good idea?" Sadie asked worriedly.
"I'll be fine." I asssured her before waving to her and heading into the woods.
Thankfully, the moon was high in the sky, lighting my path but as I ventured deeper into the forest, a sense of dread came
over me.
What if I get ambushed by a bunch of mutants? Will I be able to fight back? What if I cause more harm than good?
I guess I better stay out of sight and keep my head down.

As a former Elite-in-training, I knew how to easily find where others converge by tracing them by scent and that's what I put into practice.
Within a short period of time, I was able to find where the elites converged.
My spine began to itch again as I came upon an open clearing and discovered something going on.
Apparently, there wasn't just one but two other mutants in the area and in the distance, I could see one of them hold an unconscious Olive in its hand.
Is Olive dead? I wondered.
He better not be or the Alpha King will explode like an atomic bomb.
The first mutant faced the soldiers, roaring at them.
"You better not kill him!" Theon yelled to the two other mutants behind the first one.
It suddenly dawned on me that the first mutant was actually stopping them from getting to Olive.
The first mutant turned to the other two and with a nod from it, one would think they were standing down.
Instead, the third mutant closed its mouth on Olive's head and decapitated him.
I froze in horror.
"NO!" Miro yelled, running forward but the first mutant turned and growled at him and that's when a mini-war broke out.
Miro and Theon faced the first mutant while the rest went on to chase after the remaining two who made sure to tear Olive from limb to limb.
Now, what baffled me was the fact that the two other mutants fled like they wanted no smoke from the elite soldiers.
The mutants could have easily faced them and caused some serious harm but they didn't.
Why?
By the time I looked back to Theon and Miro, I discovered to my pleasant surprise that they had brought down the first mutant.
"Sir! They are getting away!" Adam yelled as the twins stood over the body of the first mutant.
"Go!" Theon panted tiredly to Miro who nodded, and followed after the soldiers into the deeper parts of the forest.
Quietly, I watched as Theon reverted back to his human form, then I looked away, my face heating up as I saw him become butt naked.
I wish I didn't look away because the next thing I heard was the roar of a beast.
To my horror, I looked in time to see the first beast smack Theon away with the back of its hand.
I winced as Theon flew through the air and crashed onto the grassy floor. He groaned in pain and for the first time ever, I realized Theon was highly vulnerable.
The first mutant advanced on him, with its sharp unforgiving claws raised. That's when it dawned on me that this mutant

was going to kill Theon
Without hesitation, I ran out of hiding, running at a speed that almost made it seem like I was floating.
Theon tried to scramble back but it seemed he was too hurt to move.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Just as the mutant raised its claws, I came in-between them.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" I growled in the voice of my wolf which I had never done before.

I stood in defense mode, ready to fight the mutant...or lose my life but instead, to my greatest surprise, the mutant crouched low and moved back, showing its neck in
submission.
I blinked in shock as it dawned on me that a whole mutant just obeyed me. "What the hell?"
