Chapter 214 The Last Chance to Clarify
Chapter 214 The Last Chance to Clarify
"Master Floyd had euphemistically indicated that someone was against the Floyds family. Every
sensible person knows he was talking about the Duncans."
Pearl watched the video replay, and the more she watched, the angrier she got. She hoped that Daisy
would stand up against the Floyds family.
She decided to send the video to the lab and see if it was authentic!
Once it was proved true, no more explanations would be needed. Everybody would get to see how
hypocritical the Floyds were.
"However, Sophia, whom the Floyds family is protecting, is a Cart too. Given that, maybe Keith would
have to cooperate with the Floyds.
Pearl was in a dilemma. Julia was not a pushover either. Her divorce had been a huge scandal in town,
and the aftermath hadn't been over yet.
Meanwhile, at the Carts.
Daisy smiled weirdly while watching the press conference held by the Floyds.
The Floyds did it just the way she had expected.
Now Andrew had known what Sophia had done. He definitely wouldn't want to marry her anymore.
The Floyds tried to sugarcoat the matter by condemning the troublemakers. However, on the inside of
the family, a thunderstorm was going on.
"Daisy, they misunderstood you."
Julia came downstairs and brought Daisy a glass of juice.
Her health condition was bad recently. She had been so angry to the point of being hospitalized.
Besides, she was in deficiency of drugs, with the least amount of which she could barely hold on and
control herself.
"Do you think I care about the Floyds? I feel disgusted whenever I saw those hypocrites."
Daisy put the juice on the coffee table and was ready to explode.
Since she had dared to release the video, there was no way that she would swallow it.
'Sophia, in particular,' Daisy thought, 'she was trying to frame me with such foolish tricks.'
Daisy didn't know the bitterness of being set up until she became the victim of it herself.
She had done so many stupid things in her previous life, now came her punishments.
It wasn't a good timing for the rebirth, there were many things that she hadn't had time to make up for.
Her stubborn for example. She had stubbornly believed that only she was good enough for William,
and to get him, she had framed Jane. Moreover, she was also guilty of Clay's death.
Daisy tried her best to make up for the mistakes that were impossible to change.
God had given her a chance to start over again, and she decided to be a good person this time.
However, her goodwill went in vain, Daisy was targeted by other people.
"Daisy, don't be so resentful."
Julia persuaded patiently. Now that things had come to this point, she could only endure it.
The Floyds sent a clear message through the press conference, that they would accept Sophia no
matter what she had done.
There was no turning point.
"Mom, what are you talking about?"
Daisy couldn't believe that Julia would speak for the criminal and asked her daughter to swallow the
bitterness.
"The Floyds had made it clear. Your father wouldn't stand by your side either."
Keith was absent from home. Julia was sure that he must have been busy consoling his fishwife and
their bastard daughter.
It wouldn't do anyone good if these two women continued acting up.
"Are you telling me to swallow this and become a laughing stock for all my life?"
'Why would people suffer for the crimes that they'd never committed?'
Daisy was convinced that there was no need to compromise, it was a lawful society after all.
"Then what can you do?" said Julia, "Make a big fuss and humiliate the Floyds? But what can you get
from this? Your dad will hate you too."
Seeing that Daisy was so stubborn, Julia screamed, "You were set up by Sophia only because you are
stupid, now are you trying to show people how more stupid you can be?"
The best resolution would be to keep silent until people forgot about it.
That was the rule of the game for the celebrities. It wouldn't be too late searching for love after the
storms.
Daisy slowly calmed down.
This was her mother, who was the first to bail after something terrible happened in her previous life,
leaving her to face it alone and pushed her to the frontline.
Daisy sometimes thought that maybe Julia loved her, she just had some unspeakable reasons. But
now, she realized that Julia loved no one but herself, and she could give up everything else.
"Mom, when you saw dad brought the fish seller to Sophia's wedding, you were so angry that you went
to the hospital. How can you tell me to calm down now?"
Suffering in silence was never an option for Julia. She would defend her pride at all costs.
But now she decided to put up with the humiliations, and she wanted Daisy to do the same.
Daisy had sent the video to the lab. It was her last chance to clarify. She wouldn't watch it slip away.
"Daisy, I know that you feel anguish and wronged. I feel the same, but what can I do?"
Julia leaned against the sofa and thought for half a minute before finally deciding to tell the truth.
Growing up, Daisy had never lost out, she had been spoiled by Julia. There was no way that she would
take the blame and let the Floyds get away from it.
But Julia had promised the Floyds that she would handle Daisy.
"Your uncle's company was at the edge of bankruptcy, and the Floyds saved it at the last point with a
huge amount of liquidity injection."
Harrison's generous spending was actually to keep Daisy's mouth shut.
"You'll be better off only if your uncle's business gets better and I have a position at home."
Julia believed that if a woman wanted to marry a wealthy man, she had to be rich herself too.
Keith wouldn't mention divorce or look for troubles as long as the Smits' group raised again in business.
In Julia's eyes, actual benefits spoke louder than anything else.
Daisy froze, she was trembling and unable to speak.
She had felt the same when she took the blame for the Carts' drug trafficking in her previous life.
Isolated, helpless, despaired.
The Smits would be fine. Julia's position would be stable. What about her? This was exchanged with
her dignity. After that, she, Daisy, would be seen murderer forever!
Sophia's child was unformed, but it was still a life!
'If I take the blame. everyone will be happy. The Floyds will be relieved.' Daisy thought.
'The Smits would recover, Julia would be overjoyed. But what about me? What will I face?'
Daisy didn't want to be a saint. She didn't want to sacrifice herself for the sake of everybody.
And it wasn't fair!
Daisy could endure other things, but not this one!
Otherwise, nobody would believe her until the day the Carts' scandals were disclosed.
'If people believe I'm the murderer...'
Daisy recalled her prison life the last time she lived. During her last days, her only visitor was Sophia,
who sneered at her in satisfaction.
...
"No, no!"
Sophia was with Andrew in her previous life, and they got kids later.
There would always be hope, modern medicine had been advanced enough.
Later on, Sophia indicated the doctor exaggerated her condition, and the doctor did as he had been
told.
Harrison loved his reputation and would never allow Andrew to dump Sophia when she had just lost
her child.
'What an elaborate hoax!' Daisy thought, 'Sophia was indeed a good schemer.' NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
Daisy shook her head and was determined to fight back. She wouldn't watch herself falling into the trap
of others step by step. Otherwise, she would lose control of her fate.
"Daisy, think things twice," said Julia, "you won't lose anything from staying quiet. The Carts' property
will be yours one day. It won't have anything to do with that bastard girl."
Julia adjusted her expression and continued her persuasion.
In the past, Daisy would immediately compromise for the property. This time she didn't.
She had been fooled by Julia's empty promises in the past. But she had been reborn with total clarity.
