Chapter 272 Twin
Chapter 272 Twin
A shot rang out.
With a gunshot, one of the Duncans' bodyguards fell in a pool of blood, and the other one's face
changed slightly, still protecting Pearl.
Pearl's face was pale. It was the first time she saw someone take out a gun. Seeing that person was
aiming at the bodyguard who was protecting her, she said at once, "I'm the one you want. Let them go!"
These were all people of the Duncans, she did not want them to die because of her.
Moreover, Pearl seemed to have understood the identities of these people. She believed that they had
been waiting for her for more than a day and they happened to have a chance today.
Jovanny grabbed Pearl, held the gun against her, took her to their vehicle, and turned to shoot another
bodyguard.
Jovanny shot the bodyguard in his arm.
He was just about to aim at Pearl's driver, Vance but found that he was gone.
"He's nobody. Forget it, let's go!"
Time was of the essence. They had to take Pearl away first, and the rest of the people meant little.
Soon, the car that held Pearl disappeared on the highway.
After they left, Vance climbed out of his car, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
That was close. Once Jovanny and the others hijacked Vance's vehicle, Vance would be crushed to
death.
Fortunately, he was smart and lucky enough this time.
The two bodyguards were both alive. One of them had lost too much blood. Vance quickly gave him
first aid treatment and called the police.
After everything was done, he drove the bodyguard to the hospital and called Jane.
"Madam, Ms. Pearl was kidnapped. Those people had guns!"
Vance touched his heart with his hand. Fortunately, it was still beating. He was still alive.
He did not know how to report to Jane, which had become his habit.
However, Vance did not consider that Jane was now pregnant and was about to give birth.
"What did you say?"
Jane had already fallen asleep and was woken up by the phone call. Her mind had been stagnant for a
few seconds.
In a trance, she heard Vance say that Pearl had been kidnapped.
"Madam, I've called the police!"
Vance almost howled out. He was so close to death and managed to save his life.
Jane was shocked and her phone fell to the ground.
The phone fell off the bed and Jane quickly sat up. Because she was in a hurry, she didn't look at the Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
steps when she went downstairs and fell.
When the maid heard the noise, she called Lainey at once, who was making soup in the kitchen.
"Madam, what's wrong?"
Yesterday, the obstetrics doctor said that Jane was in a good condition and would not have a
premature birth.
Then now, Jane was lying on the ground, shaking her head in pain, unable to say a word.
Her stomach hurt.
"Blood, why are you bleeding?"
Lainey was so scared that she almost couldn't breathe. She pinched herself to maintain her composure
and asked the maid to call the gynecologist.
Fortunately, everything was ready in the house. If she was alone, she wouldn't know what to do.
Lainey was strong and carried Jane to the sofa. The servants at home were all flustered.
After the gynecologist arrived, he looked at the blood on the ground and frowned.
"What happened?"
From the looks of it, she was in bad condition. She was going to labor early. If she couldn't give birth
smoothly, she would need a cesarean section.
"Madam was in a hurry and fell when she went downstairs!"
The call that caused this trouble was from Lainey's son. Lainey blushed and blamed her son in her
heart.
Lainey blamed Vance for being so reckless, neglecting Jane's safety.
"Mom, you blame me. I wanted to tell Madam what have happened."
Vance scowled miserably. He was wronged and almost died. His mother couldn't understand at all and
scolded him.
"Cut the crap. Hurry to the Duncan Group and make up for your mistake."
Lainey hung up the phone.
Jane entered the ward prepared by the Duncans. She gritted her teeth in pain and did not forget to care
about the whereabouts of Pearl.
"Madam, my dear, those people who kidnapped Ms. Pearl must think that Ms. Pearl's useful. Perhaps
they just need money."
Lainey wiped her sweat and comforted Jane, trying to calm her down.
Jane nodded and believed her. Besides, Jane was too busy with her own matters.
With this fall, the problem was a bit serious. Although Jane was in pain, she couldn't faint. She
definitely wouldn't need an anesthetic.
"Doctor, try your best to deliver smoothly. I don't want a C-section..."
Jane pleaded the doctor in a soft voice. She was afraid of scalpels.
The doctor felt speechless.
Two hours later, cries could be heard from the delivery room.
The doctor instructed Lainey to bring the servants to bathe the newborns, and for a moment, people
were being busy again.
Jane was soaked in sweat. She did not faint, though.
The children were born and there were two. Jane guessed that they should be twins.
"Madam, you have two boys!"
Lainey smiled until her teeth were out of sight and were overjoyed.
The rich and powerful families lacked sons. Jane gave birth to twins and were all boys. They could
accompany Dayton.
Jane felt speechless at the moment.
The fortune-teller said that she must have a daughter. When she went to check, the doctor smiled and
told her that she would get what she wanted.
So, did she get what she wanted?
The two babies seemed to feel their mother's dislike and closed their eyes to cry.
"I want some space," Jane said as she waved her hand tiredly.
"Madam, do you have any nicknames for them?"
The twins were too alike, and it was really hard to tell. They could mark the difference with two
swaddling clothes in different colors.
Lainey asked her because she saw Jane and William were talking about this.
"The elder one is called Dan, and the little one is called Ben."
Jane waved her hand weakly and half-heartedly.
Lainey could only feel speechless.
If Lainey hadn't seen Jane giving birth to the babies, Lainey would have thought that they were was not
Jane's children.
William was handsome, elegant. Jane was beautiful, so the two boys would be handsome, too. They
would be able to charm thousands of girls.
However, now the boys had these perfunctory nicknames, they would not like that.
Lainey didn't dare to let Jane decide so perfunctorily and secretly called William.
William learned of the news and was on his way back.
He had a meeting and his phone had no signal. Only when the meeting was over did he know that such
a big thing had happened and hurried back home.
Pearl was kidnapped, and he had already informed the organization he was in. It was confirmed that it
was done by the people of the Underground Network. They did this for the medicine. Once those
people extracted Pearl's antibody, it would be troublesome if they were one step ahead.
Therefore, Robert had to speed up and get the medicine to be listed first.
"Lainey, how is Janie?"
William was stopped at where his car was at the beginning because of the shooting, the police had
blocked the way.
"Madam is fine, but..."
Lainey said the nicknames of the two babies, hoping that William would have some different opinions.
"Dan, Ben, not bad."
William nodded lightly. The two babies had caused a lot of trouble for Jane. She had suffered a lot
when she was pregnant.
Indeed, he disliked his sons a little.
There was a saying that a bad name would bring you a good child. After all, they were born early and
those were just nicknames. As long as Jane was happy about it, it was fine.
Lainey felt speechless.
William and Jane were both so mischievous, but she was just a servant. It was not her job to say
anything about it. She had already fought for the two boys. Perhaps, there would be a turning point
when Colin returned.
Jane and William unanimously decided the nicknames of the two little boys.
