I don’t want to argue
Pedro slowly reached out his hand, then knocked on Marco’s office door, making Marco stare at him momentarily when Pedro was now in front of him.
“How did you watch over her?” Marco asked, making Pedro nod his head.
“For their first meeting, Mrs. Letta was indeed at Mrs. Arabella’s boutique. She didn’t leave for hours before Miss Arabella finally took Mrs. To the dessert shop, before the Lord instructed the driver to pick them up,” Pedro said, causing Marco to nod his head again.
“Where are they going now?” Marco asked again. Because after a few days of meeting, Letta asked for permission to meet with Arabella again, making Marco, of course, feel suspicious of his wife. Although from the beginning Marco was a little skeptical of Arabella, this time for some reason Marco felt that there was something being hidden by both of them.
“Madam did meet with Miss Arabella, but their current destination is the hospital,” Pedro said, making Marco’s hand movement stop.
“Why are they going to the hospital?” Marco asked again, because Letta didn’t say where they were going, she just said she would meet with Arabella again. Because for some reason Letta felt comfortable with Arabella and felt compatible, that was the only reason given by his wife. Although Marco didn’t immediately believe it, not giving Letta permission not to go would certainly make Letta question his reasons. Marco also didn’t want Letta to think that he didn’t like it if his wife had a close friend.
“They went to the hospital, the place where Madam was treated before. I haven’t received any detailed reasons yet. They went there, the person I sent is currently observing them and looking for the reason for their visit,” Pedro explained again, making Marco for some reason feel a little uneasy since his return from meeting Arabella. For some reason, Marco felt a little something was wrong with his wife, Letta became even quieter when she was with him. Several times Letta also seemed to force her smile when with him, making Marco of course feel even the slightest change from his wife.
“If that’s the case, find out everything quickly, I don’t want even the slightest mistake,” said Marco, making Pedro nod before finally leaving the room. Marco immediately took his phone, making sure he had to verify his wife’s whereabouts himself. Because up until now, Marco still hadn’t given Letta access to his phone, and now Marco was trying to contact Arabella.
“Hello, where is my wife?” Marco asked without preamble, when the call connected.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Oh come on, you’re calling the wrong phone if it’s just to ask about your wife,” Arabella said in a cold tone.
“Isn’t my wife with you?” Marco asked again.
“Yes, Iam indeed with your wife, but you’re calling my number. Shouldn’t you just give one phone to your wife, so you can text or call her at your own will without involving me? Iam not your intermediary. Is the phone such a dangerous object for your wife, fortunately I didn’t marry you. If not, I might have become an old woman locked in that big house,” said Arabella, which for some reason made Marco even more irritated with her words.
“Come on Arabella, I don’t want to argue. I just want to hear my wife’s voice,” said Marco, which finally made Arabella sigh before handing her phone to Letta.
“Hello,” said Arabella, making Marco silent for a moment. Why?
“Are you enjoying your time with Arabella?” Marco asked, making Letta pause for a moment on the other end.
“Yes, Iam. I have gained a lot of new knowledge from Bella,” Letta said, using the nickname she gave to Arabella.
“That’s good then. What time do you want to be picked up?” Marco asked, trying to make small talk with his wife.
“No need,” Letta said, furrowing Marco’s brow.
“Why not? Usually, I’m the one who always picks you up when you come back from Arabella’s place, right?” Marco said again.
“This time Arabella wants to go to the house and meet FREYA, so I’ll just go home with her. Besides, you also have a lot of work, don’t you? So just focus on all your affairs,” Letta said again.
“I can make time to pick you up. It’s okay, just tell me what time,” Marco said, seemingly not wanting to be defeated by his wife.
“Yes, before it gets too late, you can pick me up at any time,” Letta replied, making Marco nod his head.
“So where are you now? Are you still at Arabella’s boutique?” Marco asked, making sure.
“No, we are currently at the hospital,” Letta said, making Marco furrow his brow. It turns out his wife didn’t lie to him, as Pedro’s information had indicated.
“At which hospital? Are you sick? Should I come there? Just tell me where the hospital is,” Marco asked, seemingly surprised, not wanting to make Letta suspicious on the other end.
“You don’t have to. I’m just accompanying Arabella for her health check-up. In a week, she has to fly to Paris for a tiring job, so she has to make sure her body is in good condition,” Letta replied, making Marco think again. Was that really the reason they went there? Although previously Pedro hadn’t gotten it, for some reason Marco was a little unsure of his wife’s answer.
“Are you going to be much longer? If so, I can catch up with you. Besides, it’s already lunchtime,” said Marco, making Letta stop him immediately.
“No need. We’ll be heading home soon, and maybe we’ll stop by Arabella’s boutique while waiting for you,” Letta said, making Marco seem to have no other choice but to agree, because if Marco kept asking, it would certainly make Letta suspicious of him.
“Okay, then I’ll pick you up around 3:00 PM at Ara’s boutique, right?” Marco asked.
“Yes,” Letta replied shortly, making Marco for some reason feel even more that something was different about his wife.
“Alright, then enjoy your day. I’ll continue working,” said Marco. After that, Letta just acknowledged it. Then, Letta hung up the phone, and it really bothered Marco’s mind. Marco tried to guess why his wife could change, whether it was because she had become close to Arabella, or maybe Arabella had told her about his past, telling her his shortcomings so that Letta became uninterested in him. However, the next second, Marco shook his head. Of course, his wife wouldn’t easily change her attitude just because of things like that, Marco thought.
Until finally, Marco couldn’t stand his uneasiness and finally got up from his seat, took his suit jacket, and walked out of the office to meet another secretary.
“Where is Pedro?” Marco asked.
“Mr. Pedro just left the office, sir,” the secretary replied.
“Tell him to meet me tonight at my house. Right now, I have to go out, and just send the important files or anything that I have to handle, and also cancel all the meetings today. Find another possible day,” Marco said, making the secretary nod. Although it was very difficult to manage the schedule of someone like Marco Jovanka, who was sometimes annoying like today, suddenly canceling meetings, suddenly leaving the office. Yes, indeed this was his company. But still, he sometimes made people around him work even harder, several times over, just because of his small actions.
Marco immediately entered the elevator. What was needed now was to see his wife directly, to make sure that his wife hadn’t changed at all towards him, because right now Marco was truly in a stage where he was very concerned about Letta’s still unstable state of mind.
