Chapter 46
Chapter 46
At some point, Katherine felt she was only overthinking and that her mind was only playing tricks on her. With her eyes on Ollie, carefully watching every step he took, She had no idea when she lost track of the conversation she was making with Jess, her mother's childhood friend.
Seeing that Oliver was just a few steps away from Lewis's table, Katherine snapped out of her thoughts after which she excused herself from Jess. Despite the heels she was putting on, She tried to take fast steps while being careful not to trip and fall but Oliver still got to the table before her.
Lewis was busy typing away on his phone with a small smile on his face. The moment he noticed someone was seated before him, he raised his head, and seeing that it wasn't the love of his life, he spoke. "Sorry, but someone is there."
"We need to talk,” Ollie said in a commanding tone. pretending not to hear what he said.
Lewis frowned at the stranger who was well-dressed in a suit. What amused him the more was the fact that his tone came out bossy. Even though his face looked kind of familiar, he doubted that they'd met before.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
"Sorry?!" Lewis said with a small frown. “You heard me. Do you prefer we discuss here or go to a more quiet place?" "Talk? About what? I don't know you and what do you want to talk about?"
"Wait, did Natasha send you?" Lewis asked, staring at the stranger curiously. He hasn't heard from her for days now and that scared him that she might strike when he least expected it.
"Oh, I see. So you are well aware of your sins?” “Don't take me for a foal, stranger! I won't allow you to sit there and judge me when you know nothing about me.” "You don't even know what I'm about to say and yet you're being so defensive."
"Hi, babe,” Katherine's voice came through when she finally approached the duo. She knew they had already started making conversations and with the look on their faces, most especially on Lewis's face, She could tell it wasn't a happy conversation. And she prayed Ollie hadn't spilled any tea about her.
Seeing that he had occupied the chair she was to sit on, Katherine went over to where Lewis was seated, placed a soft kiss on his lips. and sat on his lap.
"Honey, do you know him?" Lewis asked Kathie, trying to hide his anxiety.
"No, I don’t. He’s probably one of Beatrice's guests." She replied without any emotion.
Oliver shook his head with a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“You both haven't told each other the truth, huh?"
Katherine threw Oliver a nasty glare.
"I have a good heart and pure intentions and because of that, I've taken it upon myself to shed light on the situation on ground." "Don't you try any bullshit with me and my fiance.”
"How well do you trust him?"
"And how does that got to do with you?" Lewis attacked him. At this point, his breathing wasn't normal because he feared that anything could happen. But trust Lewis not to show his weakness to a total stranger.
"Would you tell her the truth yourself or I should do it for you?"
"What truth?" She asked, facing Lewis.
...I don't know what he's talking about.”
"Look, Oliver, enough of the playing around. I won't let you come here and destroy everything I've built over the years. Neither do you have the right to talk to my fiance rudely or play pranks. Just respect yourself and leave here after the wedding."
"I thought you had no idea who I was?" "Did she tell you about how we almost fucked yesterday?”
Katherine stared at Oliver in disbelief with wide eyes and parted lips. He had said it before that he was going to ruin her but she didn't know he could stoop so low to actually keep to his word.
Ignoring her stare, Oliver spoke, not giving a fuck if he was being petty as far as it was to get what he wanted.
"We used to be lovers and I can promise you that she's not over me. I could tell from her moans and the way she couldn't keep her eyes and hands off me. I lost count of how many times she came for me. It was such a delight to see her whimper and beg for mercy under me."
"Babe...?!" Lewis called out with a crooked voice. With his facial expression, itwas so obvious that he was veryjealou s. Things have 2» been sortof rough lately for him atid KathiesThey ve been so busy with workand family that they hardly seem to have some time alone. Tey were both hoping that once Beatrice's wedding was over, they would have plenty of time to themselves.
“You want to deny? I can say more if you want me to.” He responded to the killer looks she was giving him. “Babe,” Lewis reached out to her, hoping all that the stranger was saying was a lie.
She swallowed painfully. Heaven knows if looks could kill, Oliver would have been buried long ago.
"I...it's not what you think, my love. I can explain.”
Ollie scoffed in disbelief, not believing they were still playing love after all that he just disclosed.
"Don't! Don't you dare apologize to him."He said when Katherine started making a guilty face.
“Look, I don't give a fuck about whoever you are but I won't sit here and let you ruin what my babe and I have been nurturing for years now. I don't care who the fuck you are or you were in her life. You're are past and I'm the present and future so fuck off!"
"Seems you are bringing some attention heréN honestly don't mind because I'veyot nothing to lose." Lewis migat nave raised his voice a> bit, caushag people on the ~ neighboring table to stare at them admits the soft music playing i in the baékground. Some tables were prepared for two guests“while some were prepared for more than two guests.
"In as much as I want to strangle you right now, out of respect for my mom, I'm requesting that you postpone or you forget about this conversation.”
"Yeah, It wasn't my intention to intrude. I'll be going back to my table but as someone who's very much interested in knowing the truth, I have a feeling you would be very much interested to hear what I have to say."
"Don't you have something better to do?" Lewis said with gritted teeth. glaring evilly at him. Ollie chuckled. A waiter was going around with champagne. He stepped him and helped himself with a glass. Oliver took a sip, ignoring Lewis's glare. "Do you know why your Fiance and his sister are not on good terms?"
At this point, all that Luis could see was red. He was about to push Katherine away by making her stand from his lap but knowing she would not hear the end of it if she caused a scene at her mother's wedding reception, she tried to calm him by placing a hand on his chest, making him rest his back against the chair.
"Don't push me, Stranger!"
"What were you trying to do? Fight me? I would love to see you do that. Here or anywhere else."
"How dare you, Ollie? You think you could just go around snooping about everyone's past? I thought you were grown. I thought you were better than that?” Despite how angry Kathie was, She tried to keep her tone low.
"I don't snoop if it's not important. Your so-called Finace has been fucking his sister while fucking you. Is this the kind of person I'm going to let my children grow up with and call Father?”
Katherine froze on Lewis's lap. She honestly had no right to trust what he just said but her heart started beating really fast and her mind instantly went to what her children told her about seeing Lewis and Natasha sharing a kiss. Everyone definitely can’t be on the wrong side’ Her subconscious said to her.
"Babe, please don't believe him. I'm sure Natasha sent him to ruin us. I have a lot of issues with her and that was why I blocked her completely from my life. Please don't listen to a dime of what he said."
"Don't force me to show her the naked photos of you both.” He warned. Ollie hated nothing more than to be called a liar. Especially when he was on the right side.
Before Lewis knew it, Ollie turned his phone screen-tg Kathie, and lo and behold, it shawed the pictures of both sib ings, naked and cuddled up: on the béd. Lewis was asleep whilé atashe took the selfie. She hadva smattsmile on her face, her boobs, anc-everything was all out and she dian't fail to notice the hickeys in her chest area. Her hair was also messy; evidence that something intense just happened.
"No...no....no....n0....n0...no..." Katherine whispered, shaking her head.
"Please babe, I can explain. It's not what you think it is. I swear. Please babe.”
Katherine's eyes were filled with heavy tears that if she mistakenly blinked, they would instantly roll down her cheeks. The moment she felt Lewis's hands on her shoulder, She shrugged them off.
Kathie was about to stand from his lap when she felt him hold her arm. She angrily shrugged it off and walked away at a fast pace, ignoring all the greetings she was getting from other guests.
"Who the hell are you? You're nothing but a bastard.” "I've been called that several times," Ollie answered, sipping slowly from the glass.
"Natasha sent you, right? She sent you to come to cause trouble between me and my woman. I promise you bath are going to regret this.” He said pointing a finger at him along with a dangerous look after which he rose to his feet and walked in the direction that Katherine disappeared to.
