Chapter 400
Chapter 400
Leah returned her grip, smiling gently, “I’ll listen to you. I’ll respect your wishes.”
“Good girl, I’ll ask the doctor. If it’s okay, I’ll take you home today! Who knows when Emmett will be back? I hope you guys have more chances to meet.”
Leah nodded, “Thank you, Mrs. Sophia.”
“Don’t mention it. I’m doing this for Emmett and my grandchildren, too.”
Back to the Melendez family’s mansion.
Clara looked up at the grand mansion. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.
Not to mention how her relationship with Emmett had turned out. The uncertainty of the future was terrifying.
Seeing her hesitation, Emmett wondered if Clara was unwilling to return to his side.
Could she still be thinking about running off to find Elio?
“So, you lived here for so long. Now you’ve got new feelings and don’t want to come back?” All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
At his sarcastic remarks, Clara frowned, pleadingly, “Emmett, can you let me go? I don’t want to come back. If you hate me, you can take revenge on me in other ways, I’ll accept it! But can you please not do this?”
She was really afraid that Leah would be angry when she saw her here and stop giving Emmett the antidote!
“Revenge on you? Hmm, why would I do that? Are you worth my time? Coming back here is what you should do as Mrs. Melendez!”
Emmett spoke and then, disregarding her discomfort, walked into the mansion.
Clara hesitated, standing still and not following him.
Matt quickly whispered, “Clara, Mr. Melendez has been very patient with you!”
His words implied that she should stop testing Emmett’s limits.
Clara got the hint.
But if she went in, Emmett’s life might have been at risk.
Clara clenched her fists.
Suddenly, she turned around and tried to run!
Hearing the noise, Emmett, who was already in the living room, quickly turned around, brow furrowed, yelling, “Matt, go get her back!”
“Yes, Mr. Melendez.”
How could Clara outrun Matt? She was caught within a few steps!
Struggling, she yelled, “Let me go! I can’t go back! I can’t go home! Emmett, if you hate me, just kill me!”
Watching her near madness, Emmett’s brow furrowed even more.
Was she that unwilling to return to his side?
Even disregarding her image and their past relationship?
It seemed there really was no love left!
Thinking about that, a surge of anger rose in Emmett’s heart. He strode towards Clara, grabbing her chin.
“I need to make this clear; when you chose to leave me, you gave up your right to choose! Now, you must act according to my demands! Otherwise, don’t expect me to go easy on you! Matt, take her to the servant’s room and change her into a maid’s clothes. From now on, Clara is a maid here. You can assign her work at will!”
Clara stared blankly at Emmett. She knew that coming back this time, Emmett would have found all sorts of ways to torment her.
But that wasn’t what she was most afraid of. Her biggest fear was Leah! Leah was like a ticking time bomb. She couldn’t predict when it would explode.
