Chapter 39 He Wants to Do Something to Her
Chapter 39 He Wants to Do Something to Her
In a western restaurant near the school, Kara ordered some specialties.
"It's your treat. And you only treat me to this?"
James' face was void of emotion as the waiter served him the spaghetti with beef.
Kara couldn't wait to pick up the knife and fork, have a bite, and squint with joy.
If it wasn't for Uncle James, she wouldn't have dared to come to such a luxurious restaurant.
James was amused by her look. He picked up a napkin to wipe the ketchup on her lips. He was so
gentle that they caught many people's attention.
Kara blushed with shyness and avoided his hand.
"Uncle James, don't treat me as a child. I can do it myself."
"But you're a child. You're not an adult yet."
"..."
She could find no way to retort.
He tasted the spaghetti and beef. They actually had little flavor.
However, meeting the little girl's bright eyes, he pretended to be calm and then nodded. It should be
delicious since she enjoyed it so much.
"Uncle James, I'll cook for you when I learn how to cook from Libby."
Anticipation spread across her face as her bright smile broke in the sunshine. She was sweet and cute,
softening his heart.
She now even couldn't wash the vegetables. It should be a fortune if she didn't burn the kitchen down.
James thought to himself that he should later tell Libby to keep this little girl out of the kitchen.
Otherwise, she might hurt herself.
"Uncle James, it's so nice of you to be here. Otherwise, Arya and I will be expelled. I'll be guilty if I get
her into trouble. And Mr. Owen...."
She chattered as she ate, her cheeks bulging as if she was a squirrel.
The youthful and vivacious vibe around her cheered him up.
James realized that shy as this little girl was, she would be talkative when she stayed with
acquaintances. She looked totally different when she was meeting a stranger.
He curled his lips up as he thought that he himself was a trustworthy man to her. Even the spaghetti
seemed to be better.
He chopped up the beef and served it to her.
Kara didn't think too much and just gobbled the beef down. Meanwhile, she was still talking.
"Uncle James, it was Arya who brought me to this restaurant. She's really nice and she is my best
friend...."
"Mr. James, you are really here!"
Kara was enjoying the food as she heard the cry of a woman.
She choked and coughed as it came as a shock.
James frowned and fed her the water, relieving her.
Kara drank some water and looked up. Kathleen was standing in front of them in a threatening manner, Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
as if she came to catch adultery. Kara covered her mouth and coughed.
"Mr. James, you said you are too busy to spare the time to visit Grandma with me! But now you have
the time to have a meal with this little bitch!"
An hour ago, Kathleen listened to Zoey and sent the meticulously prepared food to the SA Group.
Nolan took the food. She wanted to take this opportunity to meet James. After all, she hadn't seen him
ever since last time she ran into him in the hospital.
However, Nolan said James was at a meeting and got no time to see her. So, she could only leave. But
just as she got into the car, Rose called her and told her that Mr. James was having a meal with
another woman.
Irritated, she rushed over and saw that Mr. James was actually having a meal with a woman.
Through the French window, she could see that he was so gentle and tender. Her anger coursed
through her veins as she thought of his indifference to her. She didn't think too much and just rushed in.
She was more enraged when that woman covered her face and coughed with guilt. She wished she
had brought vitriolic acid with her!
She must ruin this bitch's face! How dare she steal her man!
She picked up the glass on the table and was about to splash water on her.
James' face darkened. He raised his hand and gave a push to her wrist. All the water was splashed on
Kathleen.
Kathleen cried out. She quickly threw away the glass and wiped the water with a napkin. Anger was
burning in her eyes.
"Mr. James, I am your fiancée!"
James gave her the cold shoulder. He was really surprised that Zoey actually chose such a silly woman
to be his fiancée. She had updated him on the floor level of human's intelligence.
"I don't mind changing one!"
His cold voice was like a blade, stabbing into her ears and sending a chill to her.
Kathleen stared at him in confusion. She was mad at the fact that she was fooled, so she demanded a
reasonable explanation.
But only when meeting his gloomy gaze did she feel fearful. She tightened her grip on the corner of her
wet clothes.
"No, you ... you can't!"
A shiver ran down Kathleen's spine as she heard his ruthless words.
Was Uncle James bad to every woman, or just his fiancée?
Just as Kathleen was trying to smooth over her fault, she turned around and realized it was literally
Kara who she was jealous of. Hatred filled her heart, but she had to put on a flattering smile.
"Kara, it's you. I'm so impulsive and I have misunderstood you."
Then, Kathleen turned at James, and now she had returned to be a lady.
"Mr. James, it's my fault. I didn't see Kara and I had lost my temper. I'm sorry. But, you know, it was Ms.
Zoey who chose me to be your fiancée. Please don't break the engagement because of a mistake. I'm
afraid that Ms. Zoey would get angry."
James snorted.
She actually threatened him with Zoey again. James thought to himself that he had made a stupid
mistake.
It was easy to control a stupid woman, but he got no sense of achievement to do so.
He was about to say something when he felt the little girl grabbed his sleeve gingerly. His gaze was
gloomy and cold.
"Uncle James, I ... I'm full."
She didn't mean to help Kathleen, but she felt it embarrassing to be the focus of the public. She had
thought Kathleen shrewd. Only then did she realize that Kathleen only looked to be so. She was
actually mindless.
"Alright, I'll see you to school."
James' face softened. They left hand in hand, totally ignoring Kathleen.
Kathleen fixed her angry eyes on their receding figures, clenching her fists tightly. 'This damned
invalid!'
If it wasn't for Kara, she wouldn't be so impulsive!
When they reached the gate, Kara stood outside the car with her head lowered.
"Study hard. I'll pick you up tonight."
James opened the car window and saw the little girl drooping her head as if she had made a mistake.
A strand of hair wafted with the wind, sweeping across her fair neck and then landing on her collar.
"Well, then, see you tonight, Uncle James." Kara nodded.
However, she did not leave. Pitiful, she lowered her head and blinked. Her amber eyes seemed to be
offering an apology.
"Uncle James, I have caused trouble for you again."
James' gaze was still lingering on her neck. His brown eyes were deep as his thin lips curled. Then, he
curled his finger to her.
"Come here!"
Kara was surprised to find his voice husky. She hesitated and took a step forward.
Seeing Kara flinching timidly, James was somewhat impatient. He unbuttoned the top of his shirt and
got off. Then, he strode towards her.
"Uncle James."
The little girl's voice was soft and sweet. She was just like a timid lamb, arising his desire to do
something to her.
