Chapter 78 Don't Hate Me
Chapter 78 Don't Hate Me
Libby looked at the interaction between James and Kara and felt that it was strange, but she couldn't
figure out what was strange.
"It's bitter. Libby, do you put Coptis in it?"
Kara pouted her lips and frowned. Her face was scrunched up and her eyes were red as she looked at
Libby.
She swore that this was the bitterest Chinese medicine that she had ever taken!
Libby looked at her pitiful appearance and felt sorry for her. When she heard Kara's words, she glanced
at James who was surrounded by cold air. She was so scared that she was covered in a cold sweat.
Libby explained, "Miss Kara, I don't dare to put wrong things in your medicine!"
Turning to look at the kitchen, Libby said resignedly, "Miss Kara, you have to take the new medicine for
a week."
Kara was lost for words.
She pitifully pouted, feeling it was useless to drink any sweet water to remove the bitter taste.
In order to comfort Kara, after dinner, Libby brought Kara's favorite fruit to the study.
Today, Kara suffered a lot from the bitter medicine. She glanced at the plate of fruit and looked away
weakly.
James glanced at Kara who was frowning. He asked Libby to bring the fruits out and then poured her a
cup of water.
Kara drank some water and finally felt better.
"Thank you, Uncle James!" She smiled happily as if she had just drunk nectar.
James smiled and went to read her book.
Kara wrote her Biology homework first. If there was something she didn't understand, she would ask
James.
James would tell her about all the related knowledge when he was explaining the exercise. After a few
days, he had almost taught her all the knowledge of high school.
Kara listened to his low voice and looked up at him from time to time.
Why was he so excellent? No matter how difficult the problem was, it became so easy for him.
"Looking good?" Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Suddenly, James asked beside her ear.
"Yes."
Kara reacted instinctively and stared at him foolishly. Her pure amber eyes were full of admiration.
"Do your homework first. See me when you have time." James's eyes were alluring, and his words
sounded implicit.
Suddenly, Kara's forehead was lightly knocked by a pen. She rubbed her forehead in a spoiled manner,
and her face was a little red.
"Uncle James, you are so good-looking. I won't be able to see enough for the rest of my life."
James was reading her textbook. When he heard her words, a bright light flashed through his brown
eyes.
"If you don't find it annoying, then see for a lifetime."
"Uncle James, I am afraid that you will find me too noisy!"
It was rare for her to see his calm expression, so she became a little braver. She leaned closer to him
and rested her elbow on the table, watching him carefully.
When she was tired of studying, it was a feast for the eyes to look up and see such a beautiful face.
"Yes, you are quite noisy." James arrogantly looked down on her with disdain.
She was wrong to think he was pretty.
Kara pouted her pink lips and moved away from him a little.
However, she was not willing to give up. She took the book and moved to his side, smiling sweetly.
"Uncle James, I won't be noisy in the future. Don't hate me, okay?"
James didn't know how to respond.
He saw that she was like a kitty with her head rolling around on his arm. The corner of his mouth
twitched.
He grabbed her by the collar and threw her away.
She was so close to him. He did not know when he would fail to endure it!
...
She could not fall behind in subjects, nor could she fall behind in art, so her time was full every day.
Last time, she scored 50 points in Biology and 40 points in Physics which was the highest score she
got.
Her grades had obviously improved, and she was more confident in learning other courses.
Sometimes, when she saw James working very late every day, she sighed in her heart. She could only
be so diligent in these few months in the third year of high school, but James had worked so hard for
nine years, and he would insist in the future.
With comparison, Kara did not dare to slack off in the slightest, and she ate even faster.
"What's the matter?" James smiled when he saw Kara was eating.
"I have taken all the bitter medicine this week. Isn't it worth celebration?" Kara happily picked up a few
pieces of carrots and placed them in James's bowl.
Libby saw Kara serving food to James. She was so scared that her whole body tensed up. James was
obsessed with cleanliness and did not like others to serve him food.
It was her fault that she didn't tell Kara in advance.
James stared at the carrot in the bowl. His brown eyes twinkled but he didn't say anything.
He picked up the carrot but before he could bring it to his mouth. Suddenly, he frowned and put it down
with a gloomy face.
Kara took Chinese medicine, and there were a lot of restrictions on her diet, so she was vegetarian
these days.
James put down his chopsticks. Libby was so scared that her forehead was covered with cold sweat.
"Uncle James, what's wrong?"
Kara did not know that she had made a mistake and looked at him worriedly.
James's tone was calm as if he was restraining something. He said that he was full and did not wait for
her to finish eating before getting up and going upstairs.
Kara was confused. Did James not like eating carrots?
"Miss Kara, don't help James with food in the future. James doesn't like it since he was young." Libby
says softly.
"Okay." Kara regretted.
Looking at the stairs, she bit her lips and felt uneasy.
She made James angry again.
After dinner, she stood outside the study with her school bag, but she did not dare to go in.
She clenched the school bag in her hand and gripped the door handle, but she still did not have the
courage to open it.
"Why are you standing outside?"
The man's voice suddenly sounded behind. Kara turned around in surprise. James, who had just taken
a shower, was wearing a black bathrobe. His hair was half-dried and drooped in front of his forehead,
making him look much younger.
James was not old at all.
"Uncle James, I..."
She wanted to say sorry, but James walked up to her, pushed open the door to the study, and turned
on the air conditioner with the remote.
James really thought she was dirty, or he wouldn't take a bath so early.
"Don't you recognize me?"
James saw that she had been standing outside the door, staring at him blankly. He turned around and
knocked on her forehead, telling her to quickly go and do her homework.
"Uncle James, I won't help you with the food anymore. Don't be angry, okay?"
Kara pleaded softly, and James raised his eyebrows. Her words sounded very familiar.
He strode in front of her, his arms were on both sides of the chair, surrounding her in the middle, and
he looked at her face to face.
"What are you afraid of?"
His gaze was so sharp that Kara did not dare to meet.
She lowered her head slightly. He spread out his hands and his nightgown slightly opened, revealing
his strong chest.
Feeling that her little face was burning hot, Kara quickly looked away, not daring to look around.
"I didn't."
"Then why did you use such a humble tone?"
His low voice and the breath he exhaled still carried a bit of heat.
However, she felt cold, and his last question was a bit oppressive.
