Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 604

Hera reacted quickly by using the needle between her fingertips to speedily block Johnson's scalpel. That prevented the scalpel from cutting the nerve on the side.

"Thank you." Johnson's heart was racing madly, for he had almost caused a disaster. At the same time, he couldn't help but admire Hera for her concentration.

Johnson had always considered himself to have excellent focus. However, the sound was so sudden that he couldn't help but be startled. Yet, Hera remained as steady as a rock.

"Why did you push me?" The female doctor, who was suddenly shoved out of the crowd, interrogated the person who was initially behind her.

The male doctor was very aggrieved. "I didn't push you!"

Someone reminded softly, "Stop arguing. Don't disturb Dr. Shadow."

"Leave!" Hera ordered coldly.

The few doctors shuddered, feeling intimidated by her icy demeanor. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. Could I..."

"Whoever was involved earlier has to leave within the next minute. Otherwise, I expect all of you to get out!"

Although the female doctor wanted to explain herself, Hera did not give her a chance. Hera hated people interrupting her work, especially when she was administering acupuncture and performing surgery.

Whether it was strangers or even Bernard, Hera would not go easy on any of them.

The doctors who were observing from the side exchanged anxious looks. Afraid that everyone would be kicked out, they quickly gestured for the five people involved earlier to leave.

Although the five onlookers were rather reluctant and felt wronged, they still left the room. In fact, Marcus was one of them. Seeing how the commotion did not affect Hera at all, he became more impressed yet slightly more disgruntled toward her.

The remaining doctors dared not to move or even breathe too loud, fearing that all of them would be kicked out. As time slowly passed, the doctors observing on the side began to feel weary from standing.

However, Hera remained extremely focused on the surgery. Despite her young age, it was really impressive that she could maintain such high concentration for so long.

Finally, the operation came to an end. Johnson watched Hera extract the last needle. Harvey's finger moved, and his eyelids twitched immediately as well.

Johnson was very shocked. "We did it!"

The other doctors observing from the side were intrigued and wanted to step forward for a closer look. But none of them dared to move since Hera said nothing.

Harvey's tightly shut eyelids twitched a few times before slowly opening. He saw a few figures against the bright white light, but he couldn't see them clearly.

The only person he could see

unusually clearly was Hera, who was looking at him. Her intense, dark

eyes seemed rather aloof. She also had thick and long eyelashes,

One glance at Hera was enough for Harvey to remember her for a lifetime.

...

Bernard headed to Silverleaf Hospital after arriving at the airport. Aside from Connor and his family, Nicholas was outside the operating room as well.

While Connor and Fiona paced

restlessly in front of the operating room door, Tyler leisurely sat on the bench with his legs crossed. There was a large bouquet of blue roses next to him.

Meanwhile, Nicholas sat opposite him with a large bouquet of red roses beside him as well. The red and blue roses seemed to contrast against each other.

From time to time, Nicholas would glance at his watch and the operating room door. He planned to be the first one to greet Hera with flowers when she came out later.

"I advise you not to waste your time. Hera doesn't like a weakling like you," Tyler uttered coldly, having understood what was on Nicholas' mind. Nicholas did not give in. "I'm not weak! I have four-pack abs!"

Tyler scoffed. "Who doesn't have abs?"

"You both suck," Bernard remarked icily. His gaze darkened when hez noticed the two bouquets beside Nicholas and Tyler. These idiots always tried to get close to Hera whenever he wasn't around

"Mr. Killian!" Connor immediately hurried forward to greet Bernard upon noticing his arrival.

Connor's greeting suddenly made Tyler and Nicholas stop fighting and glance at Bernard at the same time. He was their biggest enemy.

"How long has it been?" Bernard asked while glancing at his watch.

Connor picked up on the dissatisfaction in his tone and cautiously replied, "It's been almost nine hours."
