When Love Turns Cold

CHAPTER 107

Miranda started to feel cold. When the sea breeze blew, she couldn’t help but shiver. She sneezed.

How could Winter not notice Dave and Tim were shirking responsibility? She had planned to get to the bottom of it.

However, when she heard Miranda sneezing and coughing, she decided to put it aside and sent Miranda up the rescue

copter first.

When they arrived at the hospital, the nurse gave Miranda a change of dry clothes upon noticing Miranda was dripping wet.

Worried that Miranda might’ve injured her arm, Winter reminded the doctor to examine it thoroughly.

Fortunately, the results showed she was fine. Her bone was unharmed, and it was just a little sprain. She would recover after two days.

After getting some ointment to reduce inflammation, they went back to the seaplane and returned to the hotel.

Winter couldn’t let it go. She confronted the hotel personnel in charge of providing the deep diving service. The personnel was polite, but he kept giving excuses. In short, he refused to admit the hotel was to blame.

While they were arguing, Hansel just happened to return to the hotel. He heard them bringing up Miranda’s name. After trying to grasp the situation, he learned that Miranda had met with an accident while deep diving.

Although he wasn’t at the scene, he could figure out how dangerous it had been from snippets of their conversation. It filled him with fear.

Miranda was timid. When she was alone at home, she used to call him. and could only fall asleep when she heard his voice. He wondered how frightened she would be after barely escaping death.

He wanted to console her. However, je realized Sam was already with Miranda. He was now hovering around her, trying to curry her favor

Hansel allowed anger to wash over him briefly. Then, he composed himself and walked toward them.

He said, “Mimi, I heard about everything. It’s dangerous under the water till be troublesome if there are wounds that have gone unnoticed. Johnson Group has invested in a private hospital Malenor. Should I take you over for a full body checkup” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Sam looked up at him. He calmly said, “Her examination report from the hospital is right there on the table. Do you not see it? This hospital is in the city center and is quite decent. There’s no need to waste time going through another examination.

“Mimi is still recovering from the shock and needs rest more than anything else now. Do you understand? It seems you just aren’t considerate enough.”

After a pause, he hinted, “You never know what women need the most.”

Hansel glanced at the report and smirked. “It’s just a small health facility. How sure are you that the results are accurate?

“Medical centers under Johnson Group are equipped with first–class equipment. It’ll take less than half an hour for a thorough checkup. Being able to see the results personally can give anyone peace of mind more than anything else.”

Sam retorted, “I don’t want to argue with you. If you’re really concerned for Miranda, you should let her have a good rest.”

“How am I not concerned for her? On the other hand, you speak so arrogantly. Miranda isn’t your staff. She doesn’t have to prioritize your instructions.”

Miranda watched as their somewhat peaceful conversation escalated into a full–on argument. She felt her head aching. Not wanting to watch them fight, she promptly returned to her room.

In the dark, Miranda looked around her in confu 1. A dim light surrounded her, and her body swayed along with the light.

She was feeling uncomfortable. Trying to reach up, she realized her limbs felt heavy, as though rocks had been tied to them. She couldn’t move them at all.

She felt like someone was dragging her deep down under, and it seemed she would plunge into the deep abyss anytime soon. The fear woke her up with a jump.
