Chapter 564
"Seriously?"
It sounded like a solid plan. Sherilyn nodded in agreement, "Then, big thanks to you, Fran."
"Alright, it's settled then."
After seeing Gilbert off, Sherilyn also headed out with Rebecca in tow.Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
She had arranged to meet Joyce's cousin in the morning, and since Rebecca couldn't be left alone, she decided to bring her along.
Once they arrived, Sherilyn found a spot to sit down. "Rebecca, sorry to drag you around with me."
"It's me who should be sorry," Rebecca said, her eyes wide with a dazed expression, shaking her head. "You've got important things to do, and here you are, stuck with me..."
"Let's not be formal with each other."
They shared a knowing smile.
"Excuse me, are you Sherilyn?"
Sherilyn looked up and quickly stood.
A young man, in his early thirties, stood before her, dressed in a sharp suit. His features bore a slight resemblance to Joyce.
"Mr. Nanson, the lawyer, I presume?" Sherilyn said, offering her hand with a smile. "I'm Sherilyn."
She glanced behind him, wondering why he was alone without an assistant.
"Don't look for one," Nanson said with a chuckle. "I'm personally handling your case."
"How can I ever thank you?" Sherilyn was embarrassed.
Though she had never met Nanson before, according to Joyce, he was a big-shot lawyer in Sunhaven, on par with Edwin Morris.
Running his own firm, handling high-profile cases.
"It's no bother at all." Nanson took a seat and smiled. "You're a close friend of Joyce, which pretty much makes you family. Plus, helping you out is no big deal for me."
This comment eased Sherilyn's worries.
"Thank you," she said, smiling.
"Sit," Nanson gestured. "Did you bring the documents, your ID, and the copies I asked for?"
"Yes, all set."
Sherilyn nodded, opening her backpack to pull out a thick envelope stuffed with papers.
"Everything's in here..."
"Good, let me see..."
After reviewing the documents and selecting what he needed, Nanson packed them into his briefcase.
"I'll keep these. Wait for my call, and I'll let you know when I need you."
"Sure thing, Mr. Nanson."
Nanson chuckled, "No need to be so formal. I'll be billing you, though I'll give you a friends' rate."
"Thanks." Sherilyn couldn't help but smile. "Mr. Nanson, are you free for lunch? I'd like to treat you as a thank you." "Sorry."
Nanson declined with a smile. "I really don't have the time today. Maybe some other time."
With that, he snapped his briefcase shut.
"Wait for my call. I must be going now."
"Take care, Mr. Nanson."
"Sure thing."
"Sherilyn..."
Once he left, Rebecca grabbed Sherilyn's hand. She hadn't said

"Are you leaving Sunhaven?"
"Yes."
Sherilyn trusted Rebecca enough not to hide it from her. "Once everything's settled, I'll be on my way."
"And Mr. Johnson?" Rebecca 'looked' at her. "Aren't you two close?"
Sherilyn smiled, helping Rebecca to her feet. "Let's talk on the way back."
As they chatted, they made their way back to Emerald Estates.
After hearing everything Sherilyn had to say, Rebecca held her hand tightly, taking a while before
"Sherilyn, just follow your heart"
"Yeah."
"Yo, back already?"
They were stepping out of the elevator. At the entrance of the apartment, Eddy stood with a cigarette dangling from his lips, his gaze fixed on Rebecca, his tone mocking.
"Thought you were dead. I was almost kind enough to come and collect your body!"
