Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 572

Rebecca was an unexpected puzzle even for Sherilyn, and that's saying something.

Compared to Gilbert, Francis was more of a quiet and steady guy. Sure, he wasn't the life of the party, but silent? Hardly.

Yet, around Rebecca, it was as if he had taken a vow of silence.

It wasn't that he seemed upset or impatient, far from it.

Puzzled, Sherilyn couldn't help but give Francis a few more glances, only to notice his ears, red as ripe tomatoes.

Was Francis embarrassed?

But why? Because Rebecca was a girl he wasn't familiar with?

Oh, brother... Such a hopeless romantic.

The next day, Sherilyn made her way to the dance studio.

Daphne Hansen had returned to her usual routine at the studio.

Waiting in Daphne's office, Sherilyn didn't have to wait long before Daphne appeared, "Sherilyn, you're here? Have a seat, don't bother standing up."

"Alright." Sherilyn started to get up but sat back down, following Daphne's words.

"Just got back to the studio, and it's been non-stop, I swear my feet don't know they're not my hands anymore. Kept you waiting long?"

Daphne brought out some cookies and coffee, making herself comfortable, "So, what brings you here? Spill the beans."

"Yes." Sherilyn bit her lip, finding it hard to start.

But what could she do? With a baby on the way, her options were limited.

She owed Daphne so much; without her, Sherilyn wouldn't have had the chance to shine on her beloved stage.

"What's got you looking so troubled?" Daphne chuckled. "Out with it."

"Ms. Hansen." Taking a deep breath, Sherilyn mustered her courage, "I'm here to... to resign. I'm afraid I'll also need you to find a replacement for me at the TVwork."

"What?" Daphne's hand froze, her expression turning blank. "Did I hear you right? You're resigning?"

For a moment, Sherilyn could feel the intensity of Daphne's presence.

Daphne scoffed, "Sherilyn, don't tell e me, after all my trust in you, sending you off to the TVwork, you couldn't resist the temptations of showbiz!"

"Ms. Hansen, it's not that!"

Sherilyn, taken aback, blurted out, "I... I'm pregnant."

What? Daphne was stunned, her gaze dropping to Sherilyn's abdomen.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

"So, you've decided? To get married, settle down, no more dancing?"

Sherilyn could only nod, "Yes."

Daphne was both heartbroken and regretful, "Alright, I understand."

It was a personal choice, and she had chosen the Johnson family.

Daphne didn't even try to argue. She just waved her off, saying, "You can go."

"Ms. Hansen..."

Sherilyn felt terrible; she had let down the trust and support Daphne had given her.

Standing up, she saw Daphne had already turned her back.

Bowing silently towards Daphne's back, Sherilyn said softly, “Ms. Hansen, take care.”

As she turned to leave, she heard Daphne's voice, "Sherilyn, I hope you won't regret today's choice!"

Without looking back, for Jenna's sake, Sherilyn had no other choice.
