Chapter 125
Chapter 125
Natalie glanced back and locked eyes with Rosie before laying her cards on the table. “Tonight. Mr.
James asked me out for dinner. Since you’re Gavin’s family, you must know what’s the right outfit for
visiting the James family. What kind of gift would be appropriate?”
Rosie stared at her in shock, momentarily at a loss for words. After a brief pause, she whispered in a
hushed tone. “Are you for real? Are you really Gavin’s girlfriend? My uncle has never allowed Gavin to
bring a lady home! You’re the first, you know!”
Natalic explained earnestly, “I swear, Gavin and I are just friends. Due to some special reasons. I met
your uncle first.”
“So you’re aiming to be my uncle’s wife?!” Rosie was a picture of disbelief.
Gavin’s mother had passed away nearly a decade ago, and his father, Michael had never remarried.
Rosie pondered Gavin’s behavior toward Natalie. It seemed friendly, yet there was an extra bit of
respect. Considering this, the small talk about her being the next Mrs. James didn’t seem so far–
fetched.
Natalie was speechless.
Natalie and Rosie locked gazes for a moment before Natalie burst into laughter, countering. “Mr. James
is nearly thirty years my senior, how could that be?”
“There’s no such thing as impossible!” Rosie replied seriously. “Haven’t the rumors these past few
years been all about him and girls in their early twenties? Besides, my uncle takes great care of
himself, looks like he’s in his thirties or forties. He hasn’t put on weight and has that mature man charm.
Plus, he’s loaded. I think dating him isn’t something to be ashamed of.”
Natalie eyed Rosie for another moment before giving her a thumbs–up. “You’re awesome.”
At least Natalie wasn’t that open–minded yet, but Rosie seemed to be on board. Nat
and entered a nearby boutique to pick out a dress, with Rosie trailing behind her like a curious kitten,
continuing in a soft voice, “How did you two meet? Was it because Uncle Michael travels abroad so
much? He’s quite handsome. I’ve seen photos of him when he was young. Gavin doesn’t even come
close, don’t you think?”
Natalie hadn’t expected Rosie to take it all so seriously. She sighed, took a dress off the rack, and
asked Rosie, “Do you think this looks good?”
“Whatever you wear, he’s sure to like it, as long as it’s elegant and tasteful,” Rosie nodded earnestly.
After a thought, she added in a whisper, “The dress isn’t what matters.”
Natalie was tempted to stitch Rosie’s mouth shut!
The two whispered back and forth, clutching their chosen dresses when the sales associate. who had
been eyeing them impatiently, snapped, “Are you buying that or not? If not, put it back, don’t damage
it!”
Today, Natalie and Rosie were dressed quite casually average students from the local college.
especially Natalie in her jeans and sneakers.
“Sorry about that,” Natalie said apologetically. “I was just about to ask if you have this in at small, I’d
like to try it on.”
“We don’t allow trying on clothes in our store,” the associate looked Natalie up and down dismissively.
“How else am I supposed to know if it fits?” the nearby Rosie, sensing the clerk’s disdain, asked, her
eyebrows knitted in irritation.
The sales associate replied, unbothered, “I’ve seen plenty of college girls like you wanting something
for nothing. This dress costs sixteen thousand nine hundred. Maybe you should first make sure you
can afford it.”
The implication was clear. The sales associate wanted them to check with their sugar daddies. before Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
considering such a pricey frock.
Rosie’s face turned beet red as she retorted, “How dare you…”
