Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 121

This was a human life they were talking about here. ‘Why...? Why would he do it?’

She couldn't figure out why, either, when Rita pushed her off the stairs. How could people be this cruel? After all, Rita loved Zera like her own.

Maia inhaled deeply and felt as though she was at her breaking point. It was probably because she went through too much recently. It was stifling.

The summer breeze was warm, but Maia felt cold. Cedric approached and embraced her without saying anything. Maia was startled. It felt so familiar. She would've felt safe in his embrace back then, but she simply pushed him away. “Could they trace the guy who called the owner?” She asked.

“It was a dead end.”

Maia frowned. Another dead end.

“He was probably the same guy who sent me the video.” Maia called the number, but it didn’t get through. The person probably used a fake number.

“Probably.”

Maia nodded and said, “Thank you, Cedric.”

He raised his brow and asked, “Is that how you're thanking me?”

Maia took a few steps back. She was worried he would do something to her again.

“Are you

you that scared of me?” Cedric smiled bitterly.

Maia grinned and said, “I am. | almost died that one time. So, | cherish my life very much now. | think the world has a lot to offer, and | intend to enjoy it.‘

He smiled bitterly again. “I think | cherish lives more than you do.”

Maia nodded and said, “That’s good.”

“| cherish your life more than anything else.”

Maia avoided his gaze and remained quiet. She was startled nonetheless. It felt like something was tugging at her heart. Someone yelled all of a sudden, “Maia!”

Aiken ran to them and grinned, “Excuse me, Cedric. | want to take a look at Maia!”

Cedric was not happy about that, so he did not budge.

Aiken had no choice but to walk around Cedric. Then he examined Maia thoroughly. He let out a sigh of relief when he confirmed that she was only hurt in the knee.

“You gave me a good scare, Maia! The crew was frightened too! I’m so relieved you're okay!” Maia said, “This is a surprise. Are you actually this worried about me? It’s such a pleasure you do.” “Why, of course! | cherish you very much, Maia!” Aiken gave her a wide grin.

Cedric shot him a sideways glance-it was a fearsome look.

Aiken was so dense, he did not realize it and kept smiling. “It just so happens that your part in the shooting is done too. When are you going back to Prismara? | bought something for my dad. Could you bring them to him?”

Jordan may have beaten Aiken every time he saw him, but they were actually quite close. “Sure thing. I’m returning to Prismara tomorrow.”

“Okay. I’m going to pass them on to you later. You have to tell him that | bought these for him. He has to stop giving them to the dog.” Aiken looked heartbroken.

Maia couldn't help but laugh. “Sure. I'll make sure to pass him this message!” Aiken smiled and nodded. “Let's return to the homestay, then. You're so dirty! You look like you just had a fight in the mud!”

Maia lowered her gaze and looked at herself. She was dirty, indeed. She nodded and got ready to return to Stonebrook with Aiken. If Cedric hadn’t been giving off such an imposing vibe, they would've completely ignored him.

Aiken waved at Cedric cheekily. “Bye, Cedric!”

‘He’s so insufferable,’ Cedric thought. It was as if he was boasting to Cedric that Maia would rather leave with him.

“Out of my way!” Cedric said as he took a step forward. Then he carried Maia against her will. “Hey! What do you think you’re doing?” Aiken exclaimed before Maia could say anything.

“I'm carrying my wife.”Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

Aiken retorted hurriedly, “That's a load of crap! You can call her your ex-wife, but you called her your wife! Did you ask Maia if she’s okay with it?”

Aiken was just so cheeky! Maia would very much like to buy him a meal.

“Why do you care if I’m carrying my wife?” Cedric asked, glaring at him.

Aiken was dense, so he was not intimidated at all. He only said, “Maia’s mine! She’s my superior!” “She's mine,” Cedric answered.

Aiken was unhappy and yelled, “Who said so?”

Cedric squinted at him and sneered, “We slept together two days ago. How is she not mine?” Aiken was rooted to the spot, speechless.

“Let me down!” Maia was pissed off and poked Cedric hard.

He bore the pain and said lovingly, “There, there. Don’t act up, honey.”

“Let me down, Cedric. I’m going to teach you a lesson if you don’t!”

He leaned in closer and said, “How about we teach Aiken a lesson instead, honey?”

“You're shameless!”

Cedric smiled. He would do anything to carry his wife away,

The homestay staff, the production crew, and the participants cast all sorts of gazes their way. Maia could not stand their teasing stares. In fact, she wanted to beat Cedric to a pulp.

However, too many people were outside. All she could do was keep her head lowered, pretend she did not see anyone, and focus on her dirty clothes.

He set her down on the couch when they were back in his room. Maia was about to slap him now that she was free. However, Cedric was too quick. He caught her hand and pinned her to the couch.
