Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 155

Chapter 155 Run, Mala

“| was in a relationship when | was attending an acting class. It only lasted a few months. We broke up after that. | haven’t dated since | got into in the industry. | maintain a strictly professional relationship with all my male co-stars.”

Hope went on. “The marketing account and my fans like to speculate about certain actors, but | only hang out with them during work. | never keep in touch with them privately.”

Hope was so focused on her career that she thought nothing of the male actors.

“Are you saying that there’s nothing going on between you and Patrick? Not even Harris?” Buck had such a wide grin on his face that it was as though he had gotten the best gift of his

life.

Hope nodded. “That's right. | have a purely professional relationship with both of them. Patrick thinks of me as his younger sister. He looks after me. That said, some actors and actresses do fall in love with each other while working together.”

“What about you...?” Buck looked at Hope somewhat nervously. Maia had a strong feeling that she was the third wheel here.

Hope shook her head. “Sometimes, the line between a film and real life is blurred. So, it’s important for an actress to remain professional.”Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

“You said it.” Buck gave her a thumbs up. “You're very professional!”

Maia covered her mouth and laughed..

“What are you laughing at, Maia?” Hope was confused.

Maia shook her head, “It’s nothing. | just think you two are kind of perfect for each other.” Both Buck and Hope were silent, but their cheeks turned red.

The dinner ended in joyful laughter at around nine o’clock. Buck sent both of them home. It was almost eleven o'clock by the time Maia arrived at Cloud Nine Residences.

“Rest well, Maia!” Hope waved her goodbye.

She nodded and said to Buck, who was in the car, “Don’t let the paparazzi see Hope when you send her home.”

“Leave it to me, Ms. Maia!” Buck promised.

Maia waved both of them goodbye. The car sped off to the distance.

In the foyer, Maia took out her keys when she saw that there was someone on the ground. She dropped her keys and yelled, “Aunt Tess!” She never expected to see her on the foyer floor.

Maia stepped forward hurriedly and yelled again, “What happened, Aunt Tess? Wake up!” She dug around her bag to search for her phone so she could call the ambulance. However, she could not find her phone. She probably dropped it in Buck’s car!

“Aunt Tess!” Maia yelled yet again. Tess heard her cries and opened her eyes slowly. She saw Maia and said weakly, “Leave me alone, Maia... Run...”

Maia was still coming to grips with the situation when she heard footsteps from behind. She picked up her keys and tried to dash into her apartment, but it was too late.

She did not even have time to scream when someone hit her in the head. Then, she fell to the ground.

At the same time, Buck was driving to Hope’s apartment. All of a sudden, Hope said nervously, “The paparazzi are onto us, Buck.”

“Yeah. | noticed a car tailing us when | was making a turn earlier.” Hope just realized Buck made a detour. They were far away from her place.

“| think | know who they work for, Buck. These paparazzi are hard to shake off. You should head straight for Eighburg. It’s bustling over there now. You can lose them among the food stalls.”

“Okay.” Buck drove the car to Eighburg. He kept Buck drove the car to Eighburg. He kept the car at a constant speed, not wanting to alert the paparazzi.

There were a lot of twists and turns here. Hope grew up in Prismara. She used to come here during her college years. She knew the place like the back of her hand.

“Turn right, Buck!”

“Left, Buck!”

“Make a turn on the third road ahead!”

Hope guided Buck. Something thudded at her legs after a sharp turn. “Ouch...” It hurt. “What's this? It hurts...”

Hope focused and saw that it was Maia’s phone!

“Maia left her phone here, Buck. She’s a CEO, so it'll be inconvenient for her if she doesn’t have a phone.” +15 BONUS Buck made sure they lost the paparazzi before glancing at her. “I'll send it to Ms. Maia after | send you home.”

“We should send it to her first. Her phone has been buzzing. What if it's something she needs to take care of? | don’t have anything on tomorrow, so | can sleep in. It’s closer to get to Cloud Nine Residences anyway.”

Hope looked out the window. She had lived in Prismara since she was young. Naturally, she knew her way around it. “Fine by me.” Buck drove toward Maia’s place. They arrived at Cloud Nine Residences about twenty minutes later.

“You should come with me, Hope.” Buck parked the car and looked at her. “We might've lost. the paparazzi, but we can’t be sure if it's safe here. It’s really quiet here time of night. | don’t feel good leaving you alone.”

“Okay.” Hope nodded and followed Buck. He went in using the key card Maia gave him in the past and got in the elevator with Hope.

They saw Maia’s purse and keys on the floor before they got to the foyer. “This is bad...” Hope said shakily. “What is Maia’s stuff doing on the floor, Buck?” She picked them up and noticed there was blood on the floor. She turned paled and felt her legs shaking.

“It's blood, Buck...” She pointed at the floor. Buck quickly steadied her and looked at the floor with the blood and Maia’s stuff. He was rooted to the spot as well.

“It had only been forty-five minutes!”
