Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 197

Chapter 197 I'll Do My Best Errol signed, his hands trembling, “She was pregnant with my baby, sis. It was my baby!” He struck himself intensely. couldn’t stop him. In fact, she was almost pulled to the ground!

“| should’ve put aside my winery to be with her in the hills for a few days. | promised her that I'd accompany her and take our relationship public when the time was right, but | had to stay back in Prismara to take care of business.

“She said she understood my situation, but | could tell she was actually very disappointed. | have no idea how I’m supposed to face her now. What am | supposed to say to her when she comes around?”

“Errol...” Maia didn’t know where to begin to comfort him. Nobody could understand the kind of pain he was feeling right now. “Sis!” Errol signed as he wiped his tears. “Did they find the culprits?”

“The police have their DNA samples. They'll be found very soon,” Maia said, reassuring him.

“Was this a random attack or a deliberate plan?”

“It could be either one, but | personally think the latter is more possible.”

Errol looked like he wanted to say something, but he bit his tongue instead.

“Errol?” Maia called out to him. He looked at her, shook his head, and signed, “Don’t worry about me, sis. I’m fine. I'll keep it together and make sure those unscrupulous wretches get what’s coming to them!

“I'll check on Celia. I’m fine, sis. You were right when you said | have to pull it together. | need to support her...” Then, he turned and headed back to the ward.

Maia looked at him and frowned. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.

Then, Cedric walked to her side.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

“What's the matter? Was he hiding something from you?”

Maia was surprised. “You sensed it too, so how could | quell my own suspicions? He’s my brother, after all. “Now’s not a good time to question him.‘

Maia nodded. “Poor Celia, | wonder who did this to her. She wasn’t a part of any of this.”

Maia sighed. She hated to see innocent people being dragged into messes not of their making.

Celia was catatonic when she came around. No matter how many times Errol signed or texted her, she just kept quiet. She merely laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling silently.

“Can you say something, Celia?”

“What do | have to do to get you to look at me, Celia? I’m really worried about you.”

“Don’t you love me anymore, Celia? Why won't you look at me? I'll be with you always and forever.”

Errol signed over and over to Celia. He was clearly distressed, but she remained quiet. She merely laid on her bed and wept.

Evening came. Maia asked Errol to rest in the ward next door. It was her turn to look after Celia. Errol didn’t want to leave Celia at first, but he was going to keep her company for the whole night anyway. Eventually, he agreed.

“I'll be back in a while, Celia. Rest well. Tell Maia if you need anything. We're family, after all.” Errol signed, still worried. True to form, she didn’t respond to him.

Errol lowered his head, disheartened. He left after he cast a few longing glances at Celia.

Maia looked at Celia after Errol left. Her face was devoid of life and her eyes were unfocused. Maia could relate to Celia’s anguish.

She sat on a chair next to the bed. She said softly, “I've experienced the despair and helplessness you’re feeling now. | wanted to kill myself, but | realized something.

“The people who hurt me would've had it easy if | ended my life there and then. | haven't avenged myself. I've yet to see them rot in prison. Why should | lose my life while they walk free? After all, it's better to make them pay than make the people who care about you suffer.”

She used to think about giving up on herself back then. She was subjected to so much pain. because of her love for Cedric. Although she hadn't experienced what Celia was going through now, both of them were hurt very deeply. Perhaps that will help form a connection.

It was obvious that what she said worked. Celia’s expression changed slightly. Maia got through to her.

Maia kept going. “I know a lot of people care and love me. They’re worried about me. | know that beating myself up isn’t going to yield anything. What | needed to do was to pick myself up and make the culprits pay for their actions.”

Maia smiled at Celia. “In fact, we don’t know ourselves that well. We're actually much stronger than we know.” Celia moved slightly and looked at Maia. Her tears fell...

“But I’m in so much pain, physically and emotionally. | was eager to meet my baby, but he’s

“Take that pain and make the perpetrators feel it. None of them are getting away. Errol is with you. Starlight Entertainment will be your shield too. You're not alone in this.”

“Where’s Errol? Is he taking a break? | didn’t even talk to him earlier. He must've been sad.” “He'll be here soon. He'll be with you for the rest of the night. In fact, for the rest of time.” Celia nodded at that. “Do you want to eat something? You must been starving. Stop dwelling on what happened. We have to look to the future.

“Nourish yourself and wait for the update from the police. Then, put the culprits behind bars. Don’t you think you'll need a full belly to do that?” Maia was so gentle, it looked like a conversation between actual sisters.

Celia looked at her and smiled faintly. “I'll do my best, Maia.”

Maia knew Celia would need more than a word or two from her to completely let go of her pain, but it was a good sign that she was willing to try. Maia was sure that Celia would make it. Then, she set some warm food in front of her.

“Let me feed you.”

Celia shook her head. “I can do it myself, Maia. It’s okay.”

“Of course.” Maia nodded and gave the spoon to her. Celia smiled and thanked Maia. She took it and started eating. Moonlight poured into the ward, looking bright and beautiful. Everything was going to be fine.
