Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 215

Chapter 215 Rise and Shine, Honey

Tess closed her eyes as all signs of life left her body. Mala’s eyes began to sting. The blowing wind dried the tears on her cheeks. She stood there motionless until somebody put a suit jacket on her.

Time

passed. Maia was so exhausted. Her grip on the pistol loosened and it fell onto the ground. She turned around and walked toward the car.

Cedric was right behind her. Just as she was about to open the car door, he swept her up and placed her in the passenger’s seat. He buckled her in, closed the door, and drove off into the night..

Maia did not know how she got back to the hotel, much less how she got back to a room. All she knew was that this was not her room. It was the Osttahl Hotel’s presidential suite on the top floor.

She sat by the window and gazed blankly at the city. It looked so peaceful. How many of its inhabitants were aware of the wickedness lurking in the dark?

Cedric frowned when he saw the state she was in. He held her in his embrace and said sternly,” Go ahead and cry. Don’t hold it

in.” He was heartbroken that she tried to hold everything in and refused to say anything. He could not stand watching her like this.

Maia shook her head, got out of his embrace, and asked, “Did | avenge my mother?” She asked again before Cedric could answer, “I avenged her, right? So why am | not happy at all?”

She lowered her gaze and moaned softly, “I’m tired. So, very tired... 11

“Grab some shut-eye if you're tired.” Cedric’s frown tightened. He swept her off her feet and carried her to the bed. Then, he tucked her in, brushed her hair to the side, and said, “It'll be all better when you wake up.”

“Really?” She smiled bitterly. “However, things aren’t better between us. It'll never be better.” How could they possibly move on from their painful history?

“Nonsense. We had a deal. You'll never defy me.” He kissed her on her forehead gently. Maia’s bitter smile grew more pronounced. She alone knew that things would never get better.

Right now, she was just exhausted. She had no energy left in her this time. She felt that she would never recover from this. She closed her eyes. Soon, she fell into a deep sleep.

Cedric listened to her breathing and stared at her lovingly. He sat there like that until the night grew darker. He repeated in the same loving tone, “We had a deal. You'll never defy me.”

It was an exceptionally important promise to him. Cedric made sure Mala was fast asleep before taking his phone to the other side of the room. He made a phone call and Baz picked up the phone immediately.

“We've cleaned up the scene, Mr. Cedric. We've also suppressed the news about the charity event. No one will speak of what happened tonight. You might have to thank Mr. Jerome personally, though.”

“Noted,” Cedric said. “I want a thorough investigation about Celia’s death.”NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.

Baz paused for a few seconds and said puzzlingly, “Celia? Do you mean the actress in Ms. Maia’s company? Isn’t she Mr. Errol’s girlfriend? Didn’t she commit suicide?”

“| said | wanted a thorough investigation.” Cedric repeated, firmly.

“Roger, Mr. Cedric.”

Cedric hung up the phone and sent a text to Jerome. It was brief.

“| owe you one for tonight.”

Jerome replied to his text rather quickly. It was brief too.

“You don’t owe me anything. Here’s hoping you guys get married again very soon.”

Cedric read the reply and chuckled. He would marry her again at all costs. He turned to look at Maia. The tension about him wafted into thin air at once. He held her in his embrace and fell asleep tonight. It was one of the best night’s sleep he had.

Maia woke up drowsily the next morning. She rubbed her eyes and was about to get up when she felt a pair of strong arms wrapped around her waist.

She snapped wide awake when she saw Cedric’s dashing features in front of her! She looked down and found that both Cedric and her were fully clothed. She let out a sigh of relief.

Maia bit her lips and moved his arms off of her carefully. She knew he was a light sleeper, but it seemed like he was sleeping deeply today. He did not even move. She let out another sigh of relief and got ready to get out of bed. It was at that moment she was pulled back and pinned down.

Her long hair cascaded down. There was a hint of drowsiness in her pretty face, but all it did was make her look even more vulnerable.

“Cedric...”

He grinned, “Rise and shine, honey.”

“I'm not your honey. How many times do | have to repeat myself, Cedric? Let me go! Our collaboration is over!”

Maia was reminded of Tess at the mention of the collaboration. She got a little gloomy. He noticed it and got worried about her. He wanted to see the Maia who was full of vim and vigor, all ready to give him hell!

“It's time you hold your end of the bargain too.”

“W-What do you mean?” Maia couldn’t understand him. Cedric held her and said seductively, “You will never defy me.

Maia froze up when she met his gaze. Time seemed to pass so slowly. Suddenly, the phone rang. It shocked her back to reality. “Aren't you going to let me go, Cedric? Your phone is ringing!”

He was completely unfazed. “How is a phone call more important than a moment with you?” She would always be the most important person in his life.
