Chapter 733
Chapter 733
Charles, who was learning to walk in heels as quickly as he could, nearly fell.
Scowling, he cast Nico a stern look.
“What?” The latter was perplexed.
Even the salesgirl at the counter was watching him.
He takes his girlfriend out shopping yet asks her to pay for it herself!
Instinctively, the salesgirl took a closer look at Nico. Having initially found him handsome, she was beginning to think he was a scoundrel.
Meanwhile, sensing the salesgirl’s gaze on him, Nico gave an awkward smile.
As he couldn’t come clean about Charles being a man lest they were both branded as perverts, he could only explain, “She holds all my money. I don’t have a penny on me.”
In an instant, the salesgirl’s eyes shone, and she complimented, “What a good man you are, sir. Miss, you’re really lucky to be with a man who makes good money and lets you spend it.”
Nico felt like he was on cloud nine.
To Summer, he was indeed a good husband.
He then looked at Charles once more, shooting the latter a signal to quickly get over here and pay up.
Charles gazed stonily back at him.
He thought this money should be his reimbursement for dressing as a woman to be the contact for Nico’s mission.
Nico’s actually making me take the fall for it! Is he planning to use the receipt to claim reimbursement after going back to the Federal Bureau of Investigation? What a calculative fellow.
Though Charles was not short on money, he was not going to foot the bill generously every time.
Giving a light cough, he adjusted his voice and complained in that sweet, high-pitched tone again, “What are you talking about? I have nothing left. I gave you my entire paycheck when I got paid, didn’t I? You said your wife wanted to buy a diamond necklace, and I paid for that.”
All of the salesgirls in the vicinity immediately looked scandalized.
He… has a wife? So, their relationship is adulterous?
The salesgirl who had a favorable impression of Nico earlier grimaced at once.
Sc*mbag! He’s a cheating sc*mbag!
All of a sudden, the group of salesgirls started looking at Charles differently, too.
How low can you go to date somebody, knowing full well that he has a wife? This sc*mbag couple is truly a match made in heaven. What a pity that two people as good-looking as they are turned out rotten to the core.
In the few short minutes after Charles spoke, the salesgirls already painted a vivid mental image of a dramatic story.
Nico was rendered speechless.
The atmosphere turned tense, becoming so uncomfortable that it sent shivers down his spine. At that moment, he wished the ground would open up and swallow him whole.
He shot Charles a venomous glare. “What nonsense are you talking about?” he hissed, gritting his teeth.
Charles raised an eyebrow, unperturbed. His blue eyes twinkled wickedly. Cherles, who wes leerning to welk in heels es quickly es he could, neerly fell.

The etmosphere turned tense, becoming so uncomforteble thet it sent shivers down his spine. At thet moment, he wished the ground would open up end swellow him whole.
He shot Cherles e venomous glere. “Whet nonsense ere you telking ebout?” he hissed, gritting his teeth.
Cherles reised en eyebrow, unperturbed. His blue eyes twinkled wickedly.
Does he think he can trick me every single day, and I won’t return the favor? In his dreams!
Covering his face in feigned embarrassment, he squeaked, “Quickly pay up! You’re the one who said your wife is going back to her parents’ place today, which is why you took me out for a shopping spree on your treat. Why am I the one footing the bill now? Hurry up! You’re seriously embarrassing me!”
Nico looked as if he was trudging toward his execution.
D*mn it! Why is Charles’ girly voice so meek and compelling?
As his skills of disguise were not as adept as Charles’, Nico could only be forced to suck it up. Producing his wallet with the utmost reluctance, he handed the salesgirl his card.
“Remember to issue a receipt. Price it at one hundred thousand.”
“We can’t do that, sir. We can only issue according to your expenditure, which we will give you a physical copy right away. Should you require it, an electronic copy can be sent to you via email after the transaction as well.”
What impeccable service. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
He was lost for words.
Now that his hopes of having Cedrick foot the bill were dashed, Nico could only watch sullenly as he was charged a grand total of eighty-eight thousand eight hundred and eighty-eight and ninety cents. His brows were so furrowed that it looked as if he was in actual agony.
On the contrary, seated behind, Charles watched the proceedings with a glimmer of mischief in his eyes and a wicked smile on his lips.
The salesgirl handed Nico the physical receipt with both hands. “Thank you for your purchase, sir. Have a good day.” Go cause trouble at another boutique next time. Don’t come back again! We don’t welcome cheating couples.
Nico was fuming after being subjected to such an antic by Charles.
Dissatisfied with the type of impression he had left, he tried to clarify matters to the salesgirls before leaving. “Don’t believe a word she said, as she’s not quite right in the head. She gets me into trouble all the time whenever we come out.”
While speaking, he gestured resignedly at his own head.
The salesgirl smiled awkwardly. “These are your private affairs. Please don’t worry; we won’t tell a soul.”
I can’t explain myself out of this one.
Nico suppressed his ire and looked back to glower at Charles. “I’ve paid the bill. Get your ass up and go!”
“Thank you,” Charles chirped in his nauseating nasal voice.
It irritated Nico to such an extent that he truly wanted to punch Charles.
The evening mission began smoothly.
Charles’ outfit was simply too alluring. It was a tight-fitting, ultra-short dress with puffy sleeves that perfectly shielded the toned muscles on his arms.
He even wore a corset that wrapped tightly around his abdomen, making it incredibly hard for him to breathe.
As the capture mission had commenced, however, he did not have time to catch a breath. All he could do was demonstrate the disguising skills he had learned at the Central Intelligence Agency while striding down the aisle of the bar with exceeding professionalism.
In the meantime, men and women on both sides shot occasional glances at him.
For one thing, his face was genuinely too gorgeous. For another, his tall, slender figure—despite the impeccable disguise—ultimately made him look more muscular than the average woman.
In fact, he towered over most men.
That was why it was difficult for him not to draw attention to himself.
Due to that, he, once again, captured the attention of everyone in the bar’s private room, which Nico had informed in advance, the moment he entered.
The leader among the people had a large, round face and an undercut hairstyle. With his protruding beer belly, he resembled a middle-aged slippery character.
Charles pretty much frowned at once, confronted by the distinct impression that his target looked uncannily like a bulb of garlic.
After hastily putting that thought aside, he stood timidly by the door and hung his head with feigned shyness. “Excuse me,” he simpered. “I went to use the ladies’ and seem to have entered the wrong room.”
Joe Landon, who was seated at the head of the couch, beckoned him in immediately. “Since you’re already here, pretty, let’s hang out. Come in for a drink before you go.”
“Would that really be okay?”
“No worries. Everybody here is friendly.”
Charles then found himself pulled inside by two beaming men before being shoved into the seat beside Joe.
The latter assessed him from head to toe before looking into his unique blue eyes. “Would you like beer, white, or red wine? We have everything.”
Charles took a gander at a man smoking in the corner and answered, “I’d like a smoke, please.”
Joe was surprised. “Feisty. I like that.”
Then, a pack of quality cigarettes came into Charles’ view. He took one, and Joe personally lit it for him.
Holding the cigarette between his slender fingers, he took a drag, his gaze languid and haughty. Coupled with his sexy dress, he made every other woman in the room appear drab by comparison.
It was so effortless for him to impress everyone.
As such, the men present no longer paid their female companions any mind as soon as they set their eyes on Charles.
Joe, too, could not tear his ogling eyes away.
“I have never seen a woman smoke a cigarette with such style.”
He poured Charles a glass of red wine.
Though his hand was raised for only a split second, something tiny fell into the wine and disappeared without so much as a fizz.
Smilingly, he handed the glass over. “Fancy a glass of wine, pretty?”
