Chapter 27 Look What You've Done

As soon as the news went viral, Claudia was invited to the Crawford's old mansion by her mother-in-

law.

Although Claudia didn't know exactly why her mother-in-law wanted to see her, she had a slight

suspicion that the reason was related to the party last night.

When Claudia arrived at Crawford's old mansion, Winifred was receiving guests upstairs, so the old

housekeeper asked Claudia to wait for a while.

While Claudia was sitting on the sofa waiting for Winifred, the housekeeper accidentally knocked over a

Hanna said, “Mrs. Crawford, that's not going to work. Claudia is Conrad's birth mum. I don't want to

compete with her...”

“So what if I say she's the true mum supposed to be? Do you know how she got pregnant?”

“What?”

“That was because Ben was drunk. He thought she was you. Otherwise, how could Ben have married

“Ben booked the entire Zeus Hotel last night to celebrate your birthday in a high-profile way!”

Claudia.

On the third morning, when she had just come downstairs to prepare breakfast, she picked up her

apron and had not yet put it on when the front door was slammed deafeningly.

The loud sound made Claudia tremble with fear. After a while, she looked at the door. Then she found

that Ben, who hadn't returned home for three days, appeared on the doorstep.

His handsome face looked gloomy. His ruthless eyes stared at her for a moment. Without making any

movements, his cold, thin lips were pursed into a straight line. There was a faint flame secretly surging

in his dark eyes.

He was surrounded by an aura of intense hostility that made him look powerful and frightening.

Ben usually made people think he looked gloomy and depressed. However, he looked even eerier and

more frightening at this time, somehow making others feel scared and afraid to breathe!

Claudia did not come back to her senses for a while. She froze stiffly in place as she stared dully at

him.

Their nanny in the kitchen heard the movements and thought something was going on, so she walked

as she said, “Mrs. Crawford, is everything alright...”

handmade shoes on the floor was creepy and daunting.

Those were the only words Claudia could find to describe the sound of his footsteps. And she couldn't

help but back away and slowly tried to run away.

However, Ben's long legs took a big step. He took a few steps and was in front of her. He stood still and

looked at her with a fierce look in his eyes.

Claudia naturally looked down and did not want to meet his eyes.

Ben stared at the top of her head for a moment. Then he reached out without struggle, cupped her

cheek, and pulled her closer to him with a strong grip. His gaze looked ferocious. “It seems that I have

underestimated you!”

slammed her hard to the floor.

As Claudia steadied herself, Ben grabbed a stack of morning papers from the coffee table and

slammed them into her face.

“Look what you've done!”

Claudia leaned down in confusion as the papers scattered to the ground. The moment she picked one

up and saw the headline on the front page, her mind went blank, and she was stunned the next

second!
