You Are My Mr Right

Chapter 89 Living Nightmare

He strolled in, took a seat, and smirked, “Mr Silverton, long time no see.”

The private room was bathed in a dim light. Elijah reclined in the shadows, his expression inscrutable.

Ronan Vega inquired, “Is there something you want?”

“I heard Mr Vega had a collaboration with S&H Group, but it seems their CEO is having second thoughts.” Elijah’s voice was neither loud nor soft. But it landed a direct hit on Ronan Vega.

Ronan knew it was Elijah’s doing, and it stung. Yet, he maintained composure, “Just a collaboration. If it falls through, so be it.”

Elijah chuckled lightly, “Mr Vega, quite magnanimous. But if this collaboration fails, I wonder how much you stand to lose?”

Ronan Vega found it hard to keep up his composure.

Wasn’t this a deliberate jab at his vulnerable spot?

He knew Elijah Silverton was ruthless. Yet, he didn’t anticipate Elijah to be so well-prepared.

“Loss is a part of business. Money can always be earned back,” Ronan Vega declared stubbornly.

The failed collaboration, however, would result in substantial losses for him.

“Mr Silverton, did you summon me just to share this news?” Ronan Vega, in front of Elijah, only held the upper hand when it came to knowing Freya Stone’s whereabouts.

Elijah continued, “Oh, and there’s also the real estate development project in Spring Bay. It might be involved in illegal construction and could face investigation and suspension…”

Before Elijah could finish, Ronan Vega erupted in anger.

“Are you resorting to dirty tactics?” Fury etched his face.

He could tolerate a failed collaboration, but he had invested significantly in Spring Bay. If construction were suspended, the daily losses would be immeasurable.

Elijah remained calm, devoid of emotion, “The business world is akin to a battlefield. If you’re careless, how can you blame me?”

Gritting his teeth, Ronan Vega, unable to hold back his anger, stormed out without saying a word.

Elijah’s expression darkened when Ronan Vega left the room, “Xander, tail him.”

“Yes.” Xander promptly executed the order.

All of this was part of Elijah’s strategy. He refrained from mentioning Freya Stone in front of Ronan Vega because he knew Ronan wouldn’t spill the beans. If Elijah brought it up first, Ronan Vega would catch on and become guarded, potentially using it against him. Moreover, if he did mention it, Ronan Vega might not only stay quiet but also exploit the information against him. In that scenario, Elijah would lose control over the narrative and suffer even more. He’d better to take the initiative to make Ronan Vega anxious. In that case, Ronan would have no time to waste.

This was Ronan Vega’s territory. To find Freya, they had to start with him. In his rage, Ronan Vega wouldn’t overthink. He surely didn’t expect Elijah to send someone to tail him. He first returned to the company, where the situation was chaotic. One incident after another had thrown the entire company into disarray!

Ronan Vega cursed, cursing Elijah’s ancestors and descendants. After a night, he calmed down and realized Elijah’s true intention. Elijah did this to force him to surrender, especially concerning Freya Stone. The more Elijah wanted to find her, the more determined Ronan Vega became to keep her hidden.

The next day, he went to the villa to see Freya. As soon as they met, he vented his frustration.

“It’s infuriating. I didn’t expect Elijah Silverton to be so cunning!” Ronan paced back and forth by Freya’s bed, hands clasped behind his back. “He’s playing tricks behind my back. Unbelievable!”

Freya felt uneasy. With Elijah appearing in Stratos City, she had mentally prepared herself. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

“So, are you planning to surrender to him?” asked Freya.

“How is that possible!” Ronan Vega, with a grudge against Elijah, insisted on playing hardball. “The more he wants to find you, the more I’ll make sure he can’t…”

Mid-sentence, he suddenly realized Elowen Noir and the child were not present.

“Where’s your mother? And your child?” asked Ronan.

Freya didn’t hide anything, “They left last night.”

In the months at the villa, she had kept a low profile and befriended the bodyguards. Coupled with Ronan Vega not being overly vigilant, she found an opportunity.

“Do you not trust me?” Ronan Vega’s face twisted. He felt betrayed by Freya Stone, whom he had treated well for the past few months.

Freya looked at him, “No. Elijah is here, and I had to prepare. What if you had gone to meet him yesterday and exposed me? If he caught me and harmed my child, what would I do?”

So, she had her mother take the child and hide first. Externally, she and Ronan Vega appeared as friends. But internally, she had always been on guard, knowing that it was all about mutual interests.

Ronan Vega thought Freya Stone should have considered him a friend by now. Little did he know, she still regarded him with suspicion.

“Freya Stone, you’re truly heartless!” Ronan Vega was furious, and the sound of his hands clenching was audible.

Suddenly, there was commotion at the door, accompanied by the sound of things being knocked over and cries of distress.

Ronan Vega hurried downstairs.

Elijah had already dealt with the guards at the villa entrance and burst into the house.

“How did you find this place?” Ronan could hardly believe the scene before his eyes. In Stratos City, he considered himself almost untouchable. Without him leading the way, Elijah shouldn’t have found him.

“Indeed, this place is well-hidden. We didn’t find it last time. If you hadn’t led the way this time, we wouldn’t have found it either.” Xander gloated a bit.

“You tailed me?”

Elijah didn’t bother with him and led his men upstairs.

Freya Stone, knowing she likely wouldn’t escape, still wanted to try. She tied the bedsheet to attempt to climb out of the window. As she climbed, the door was kicked open.

Elijah stood at the doorway, his gaze dark, fixed on her. “Planning to jump?”

“Go ahead.” He added with a complacent smile.

Freya got stuck at the window, realizing she wouldn’t be able to escape even if she jumped.

“I won’t jump.” She reluctantly gave up.

Elijah’s expression remained cold, showing no overwhelming anger. “Scared of dying?”

He took a step closer.

Freya felt a bit frightened.

“Don’t come any closer.”

“Are you scared of me?” Elijah approached step by step. His footsteps were heavy and steady. Freya leaned against the wall, trying to maintain composure. “The divorce agreement, have you signed it? If you sign, we’ll be done. So, please, stay away from me.”

Elijah sneered, “You’re dreaming.”

Freya Stone, who had just given birth the previous day and was still uncomfortable, confronted him as best as she could.

“Why won’t you divorce me?!” asked she.

Elijah suddenly grabbed her neck, his fingers tightening, his eyes revealing a sinister darkness that could devour a person. Elijah tightened his grip, darkly muttering, “Because I want to torment you.”

“So, you want to keep me tied to this marriage forever?” She struggled to utter the words.

Elijah spoke each word deliberately, “I want to make your life worse than death.”

With that said, he pushed Freya Stone out of the window.

“Ah!”
