Chapter 458

Chapter 458

"Is that so?"

Hogan was a little surprised while he heard this.

"Yes, the driver who caused the accident has been taken away by the police. So please advise them to

understand the actual situation and talk things out."

Andie looked at the two ladies who were getting louder in the argument. It seemed like they were about

to get into a physical fight, and he was growing more nervous by the second.

He was worried that there would be two more patients there if they started a fight.

Upon hearing this, Hogan hastily turned around and stopped his wife. "Forget it."

"Hogan? Xenia is your daughter, isn't she? She has been deceived by others to donate her liver, but

they didn't even thank her in return!"

Lindsay was definitely not someone who was hard to deal with, but Laura's and Rudolph's attitudes

were making her furious. Even though she didn't quite understand the impact of losing the liver lobe, it

was still an organ of the human body, hence both were equally important.

"No, that's not the case!" Hogan went closer to Lindsay's ear and whispered, "Their son had been hit by

a car while saving Xenia. If it wasn't for him, she would've been the one who had gotten into an

accident."

"Really?"

Lindsay was quite shocked to hear this.

"Let's go and visit Xenia then."

Hogan grabbed Lindsay's hand and left.

Hogan and Lindsay only visited on the first day. After that, they arranged for a maid to take care of

Xenia in her ward.

Three days after the wound was healed, Xenia could already get off her bed, as her situation was

different than Harvey's. Right away, she grabbed a coat and headed over to Harvey's ward.

She entered his room and saw Harvey talking to the doctor who was standing beside him.

Xenia waited for a while and Harvey hadn't finished speaking yet, so she couldn't help but complain,

"Such a workaholic."

It was only when she said this did the two men in the ward notice that there was a person standing

behind them.

"Why did you get out of your bed? Did the doctor agree to this? It's only been a few days."

As soon as Harvey noticed that Xenia was there, he immediately grew anxious. He seemed to have

forgotten about the fact that his condition was much more severe.

"The doctor said that it's fine." Xenia walked over to Harvey's bed and sat down as she tilted her head.

The doctor whom Harvey was talking to just now quickly grabbed his things and left the room to the two

of them.

"Are you sure the doctor has said that it's fine? It's only been three days. It's best to get out of bed after

at least three to seven days. You can't be doing this."

Harvey's nagging just wouldn't stop. In fact, he would only advise a little and would not care much if it

was another patient. However, he couldn't seem to be at ease if it was Xenia.

"Is there anything else?"

Xenia sat even closer to Harvey and asked.

"You should be cautious about..."

"But I miss you."

Xenia said immediately, without waiting for Harvey to finish his sentence. After that, she leaned forward

slightly and her thin lips pressed down lightly on Harvey's lips.

This unexpected kiss had caused Harvey, who was trying to lecture Xenia, to blush a little.

"Then, you should move to this ward."

Harvey suggested as he supported himself with one arm and pulled the woman who was about to

dodge with another. Without giving her a chance to escape, he pressed his lips against hers, extending

this long-lost kiss.

"Mmm..."

This was totally out of Xenia's expectation, as Harvey had always been so gentle and tame. She was

only stunned for a moment before she responded to the kiss by hooking her arms around Harvey's Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

neck and kissing him deeply.

The ambience in the ward was getting flirty.

Just as everything was going smoothly, Harvey suddenly pushed Xenia away and said, "You should

probably stop now."

"Huh?"

Xenia then immediately realized something.

Her face blushed within seconds and she stood up promptly.

"You can move over there." Harvey pointed at

the empty space next to him. "I'll tell them about this later. From today onwards, I'll keep an eye on your

diet and also try to avoid any intense physical activities."

The reason why Harvey had stopped was because both of them were patients and they could not carry

out any intense activities.

"Please, I will never do anything intense."

"Walking from your ward to my ward is considered an intense exercise."

"How is that considered intense exercise?"

"Because I said so," Harvey replied as he moved his body sideways. "Sit here. I'll get them to move the

bed."

As he spoke, he pressed the call button beside him..

Everyone in the hospital knew that the patient in this ward was the hospital's shareholder, Harvey

Felton. Thus, when the button of this room was lit up, a nurse dashed over to his room as if she was

running a 100-meter sprint.

"Dr. Felton, is there anything I can help you with?"

The nurse asked while gasping for air.

"Move her bed into this room." Harvey could not let go of Xenia's hand, even when he was talking to

the nurse.

"Yes, sir."

The nurse received her order and went to carry out her duty immediately.

The beds here were all wheeled, and they could be moved easily by unfastening the lock. Thus, in a

short while, Xenia's bed and her luggage had been moved into Harvey's room.

The maid arranged for Xenia by the Lowell Group followed along too.

"Miss Xenia, what is this?"

She thought that something had happened when she saw that Xenia's belongings were being moved.

The next thing she knew, she was standing at the door of Harvey's room, while Xenia was chatting and

laughing happily as she sat on Harvey's bed.

"It's okay. You can go back now. Tell Mom that I'm fine and I don't need a maid."

She had been separated from Harvey for several months and they finally had the chance to enjoy

some time together. They had endless conversations and numerous things to experience together, so

she didn't need a third- wheeler to ruin this perfect moment.

"Could you please tell Madam Lindsay on your behalf? I'm afraid she'll think that I didn't do well."

The maid's face was filled with worry. Little did she know that she had been regarded as a third wheel.

She thought she had done something wrong, which made Xenia want to chase her away.

"Then I'll call them later. You may go back first."

Xenia waved her hand at the maid, not knowing what she was thinking.

At the same time, Harvey was lying on the bed as he looked at Xenia organizing her belongings. As

much as he wanted to help, he couldn't as he had to take good care of himself, since he had just

recovered from surgery.

"Xenia, Andie had told me everything. Thank you for donating your liver lobe to me."

Harvey didn't know what else to say; all he could say was "thank you".

However, these words sounded so strange.

Upon hearing this, Xenia stopped whatever she was doing. She pretended to be angry and asked,

"What are you thanking me for? Appreciation should come with compensation. Please give me 10,000

dollars for one 'thank you' in the future." "Excuse me?" Harvey had no idea what Xenia was up to.

"Besides, I'm not helping you for nothing. I gained something too," Xenia continued as she set her

facial products on the table. Even though she felt that it was inconsiderate to say this, she still

continued.

"Harvey, can we just not get married for the rest of our lives? I like you, but I dislike your mom. I don't

want to flatter and please her."

She was the daughter of the Lowell Group and everyone around her always gave in to her, including

when she was in the company.

Therefore, she didn't want to have a hard time in the Felton family or to be at someone else's mercy.
