Chapter 1043 Setting Oneself on Fire

Chapter 1043 Setting Oneself on Fire

Stella then responded in a pretentious tone either, "Thanks for your care, my dear brother! Don't worry,

and he won't get a chance to confront me."

After a while of small talk with Stella, Caleb handed over the photo of Maximilian to Stella and left.

Stella took a sight of the photo, and was surprised to find that the man in the photo was quite a man

with a handsome and honest countenance, who was seemingly not the sort of bad guy in Caleb's

mouth.

However, giving a second thought that this man had a feud with her family, she chose to forget about

her personal feelings and do her best to save her family from risk.

On the other side, Maximilian left government after saying goodbyes to Finlay and Caden.

On his way to the Berry Family, he found that there was a drunk girl staggering towards him, and

suddenly fell into his bosom.

Dumbed, he wondered whether god had rendered him good luck in his adventures with women today.

He lowered his head, and found that the lady in his arms was by no means the very top among all the

beauties in this city.

'It seems that today is my lucky day.' He thought to himself.

"What happened, lady? Have you just broken up with your boyfriend or?" Looking at the lady with a

complicated look in his eyes, Maximilian asked.

"Yes, you're right." The lady nodded her head and continued, "Could you please take me to the hotel?

I'm a bit tired."

"Of course, I can. But don't you worry about that I'm a bad guy?" Maximilian smiled.

Grumbling for the dullness of Maximilian inside her mind, Stella then robbed her forehead and said,

"Not at all. I can tell that you're not that sort of guy."

"Then, it seems that you've chosen a right person." Maximilian gave a plain answer, and then

accompanied her to the hotel.

In the private room, as Stella laid on the bed, Maximilian was somehow bewitched by this beautiful lady ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

and felt difficult to resist his lust. But soon, he suppressed his impulse — he was a gentleman, and a

gentleman would never hold any evil intention to a drunk lady.

With her eyes closed and a sharp dagger in her hands, Stella was waiting for the chance when

Maximilian climbed up the bed. After a long while of silence, as she curiously opened her eyes, she

found that there was no one in the room except for herself.

Stunned, Stella was wondering whether Maximilian was really a man of integrity or if he was a guy

leaving such a beauty like her alone in the room and doing nothing.

At the same time, Maximilian was standing outside of the room, offered a loud sneeze and murmured,

"Damn! Is there anyone who just cursed me?"

Stella gritted her teeth, staggered out of the room and embraced Maximilian from his back.

Maximilian turned around, rolled his eyes upwards and thought that she was such a troublesome and

restless woman.

Stella said coquettishly, "Please, I'm too scared to be alone in the room! I need you!"

"Then, how about we call your family here?" Maximilian said impatiently, since it was just this girl who

had slowed his pace heading to the Berry Family.

Maximilian then had no choice but to go back into the room. As he was about to leave, Stella suddenly

clung to him and didn't let him go.

Maximilian failed to resist her lust, lifted Stella from the ground with his arms and was going to teach

her a lesson.

With her face twisted out of panic, Stella realized that she had overdone this and subconsciously pulled

out her dagger.

Seeing the weapon in Stella's hand and her anxious look, Maximilian smiled, "I guess you are forced to

do so, aren't you?"

Stella, with a speechless cold expression on her face, gritted her teeth and prodded towards Maximilian

with the dagger in her hands.

Astonishingly, Maximilian stopped the dagger with merely two of his fingers. He disarmed Stella and

asked, "Are you sent by the Berry Family?"

Stella was stunned to hear that her real identity had already been found out by Maximilian, and then

guiltily nodded her head.

In calm, Maximilian felt not so surprised to hear that, and thought it was wretch and vicious for the

Berry Family to ever do this.

Maximilian then said disdainfully, "Whatever. I'm not going to do anything to you, since you're from the

Berry Family. You're free to go now."

Stella was stunned by his words. The reason why Maximilian let her go was that he would never fight

any woman, especially those fair ladies.

Suddenly, Stella found herself falling in love with the man, who was so gentle and principled that

caused her heart throb.

Looking at Maximilian's back, she suddenly realized that Maximilian was possibly heading to the Berry

Family, which would be the most unexpected outcome for her if he succeed.

"Wait, what do you want from the Berry Family? Why can't you just stop fighting against my family?"

Stella thought that everything began from Maximilian, and asked.

Maximilian smiled, "Wait, I'm not the one who started all this. It's your family that exhausts to keep me

from my business partners in W city, and it's also your family members that try anything they can to kill

me!"

Stella was stunned by what Maximilian had said. She soon realized that she had been cheated by her

brother, and that the initiator was exactly her family instead of Maximilian.

As Maximilian remained silent, Stella suddenly said, "Wait, can you just please forgive them?"

Maximilian looked at Stella curiously, and asked, "Why? Are they your friends or what?"

"No, I'm the fourth born in the Berry Family." Stella told Maximilian the truth.

Maximilian smiled, "Oh, really? Then there is nothing to do with you."

"Wait, you can't hurt my grandpa!" Stella continued.

Maximilian turned to her superciliously and said, "Who do you think I am? A chain killer or what? I'm

not going to kill anyone, and I just want to have a talk with your grandpa."
