Chapter 364
Chapter 364
Arya did feel tired, so she closed her eyes when Xavier put her on the bed.
Xavier sat by the bed and patted her on the back, "Are you tired?"
Arya didn't open her eyes and gave a slight yes.
"Go to sleep."
After a while, Arya fell into a deep sleep. Just then, the phone in Xavier's pocket rang. Xavier
immediately took it out, he hung it up when seeing the caller ID.
Arya heard the noise and moved, but she didn't open her eyes. Xavier patted her gently, "It's okay. You © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
go back to sleep."
After a while, Arya fell asleep again.
Xavier tucked her in, got up, and left the room.
He walked out the door, took out his cell phone, and dialed back.
Daisy seemed to know that Xavier would call back and had been waiting by the phone.
"Xavier, you have to come back." Daisy held the phone.
Xavier answered, "I see." Then he hung up the phone.
Just as he was about to enter the room, Bridget came back.
"Brother..."
Xavier glanced at her, "Take care of her for me. I'll go back now."
Bridget nodded, "OK. I can look after her here."
After Xavier left, Bridget put a chair beside the baby's bed and looked at the baby lying on the bed, with
both hands propping up her cheeks.
In the evening, Arya still didn't wake up. Nanny Joy made the food. Bridget asked Nanny Joy to keep it
warm until Arya woke up.
Arya was woken up by the sound of the baby crying.
When she opened her eyes, she saw Bridget changing the baby's diaper. She didn't know if the baby
was uncomfortable or not, but the baby was crying very hard.
Arya lifted the quilt and got out of bed. She walked to Bridget and said, "Give it to me. I'll change it."
Bridget handed Arya the clean diaper in her hand, "I'll go get some warm water."
Arya took off the baby's wet diaper and washed her butt with the warm water Bridget had brought her.
Perhaps the baby was more comfortable now as she cried less. After changing the clean diaper, Arya
held her in her arms and shook her gently.
Bridget poured the water and walked over, "Sister-in-law, let me carry her. You're still in confinement.
You need more rest."
Arya shook her head and said, "No, it's okay. I'll make her stop crying."
Bridget could only stay and watch. After a while, the baby stopped crying, began to sob, and finally fell
asleep slowly.
Apart from crying when she was hungry and when her diaper was wet, she was usually sleeping.
When the baby was asleep, Arya put her back in the crib.
"Sister-in-law, please eat something. I'll bring it in for you."
Arya said, "I'm going out to eat."
Bridget asked Nanny Joy to bring the food to the table. Arya looked at her and asked, "You don't want
to eat?"
"I'm full now." Bridget sat on the sofa beside, looking not very energetic.
Arya drank the soup that Nanny Joy cooked for her. Looking at Bridget, she hesitated for a few
seconds and asked, "Do you know that Edward is leaving?"
Bridget looked at Arya in surprise. "Where is he going?"
"Going abroad. Actually, outsiders can't get involved in matters regarding relationships, but you're still
so young, and the days ahead are still long. If you meet the right one, you have to try."
Bridget frowned, "Arya, what do you mean?"
She thought Arya would speak for Edward and persuade her to stay with him.
Almost everyone had been trying to persuade her, after all.
"Nothing forcibly done is going to be agreeable. Maybe he gave up after he figured it out." Arya felt it
was a pity. Edward was really a good guy.
Bridget clenched her hand. In other words, Edward chose to give her up.
Before this, she was tired of Edward's pestering and even hated him. Everyone in the family was
talking for him.
But now, he said that he had given up completely and was about to leave. She felt she lost something.
It was as if your heart was empty when the person whom you had much contact with in your life
suddenly left.
Bridget looked at Arya, "He told you, didn't he?"
"Yes, he said he would listen to his parents' arrangement."
Bridget's face turned pale. "It's good. No one will pester me in the future, and my family won't force
me."
Although she was good at disguising, Arya could tell that she was not as calm as she looked.
"Do you really think so?"
"Of course." To prove what she said was true, she answered very quickly.
Arya sighed slightly, "You should rest early. I'll go to bed first."
After entering the room, Arya sat by the bed and took off her slippers. Just as she was about to go to
bed, the baby cried again. Arya put on her slippers and walked over to pick her up.
This time she was hungry. Bridget came in to help make the milk powder.
The moment her little mouth touched the pacifier, she stopped crying. She wrapped her pacifier and
sucked hard, looking very hungry.
When she was full, Arya carried her along her back. After eating the milk, the baby could not sleep
immediately.
At this moment, the door of the room was pushed open. Xavier came in. Bridget saw Xavier and said,
"I'll go out."
Xavier walked towards Arya and reached out to pick up the baby in her arms, "Why are you holding
her?"
Arya sat on the bed, "She has just finished eating. She can easily spit out milk and gets choked if I did
not hold her."
Xavier understood. With a nervous look on his face, he seemed to be very inexperienced in holding a
baby.
It was the first time Arya had seen him like this.
Xavier held the child for so long.
Xavier finally put the baby back in the crib when she was sleeping soundly.
Arya had already fallen asleep.
"Oh..."
She felt a sudden chill on her body and opened her eyes. The light in the room was very bright, which
made her couldn't open her eyes. She lowered her head and saw Xavier applying medicine to her
wound.
"Did I wake you up?"
Arya slowly got used to the light in the room. She then stared at the ceiling and asked faintly, "Isn't it
ugly?"
Xavier looked up at her with a serious expression, "No..."
