A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 32: Bad bitch

Chapter 32: Bad bitch

Amelia drove to the company herself. She was happy she could still remember all she was taught at school about driving.

James left the house the same time she left too. He didn’t say a word to her but she went ahead to greet him. She wasn’t bothered that he didn’t give her a response. She wanted to focus on the positives alone.

She got to her desk at the office and arranged it. She missed the table so much. If not for Helen, she would have never had the chance to work in his company anymore.

She began to work on her laptop shortly, when she heard someone approaching. She lifted her head and saw Tina standing in front of her.

“Hi, Tina. Good morning.” She let out a bright smile.

“Hm,” Tina responded and narrowed her gaze at her.

Amelia creased her brows and stared at her. She had no idea why ‘Hm’ was her response.

“You seem quite happy. I wasn’t expecting that,” Tina teased.

“What do you mean?”

“You are living in James’ house now. I believe that is the worse place you can be. But you seem to be coping very well. I hope that lasts long though.”

Tina chuckled and tucked her hair at the back of her ear before heading to James’ door.

“Thank you for coming to our wedding!” Amelia added before Tina could knock on the door.

“You don’t have to thank me. It isn’t the kind of wedding I would love to attend anyways. I had to because of my dear friend.”

She rolled her eyes and finally opened the door to James’ office. Amelia heaved a sigh as soon as she was gone and looked at her laptop again.

“Thank God his parents aren’t like him and his friends. They are so mean,” She mumbled to herself, before finally concentrating.

Tina got into the office and met James on his PC too.

“Woah. Why are you all so busy today? What’s new?” She asked, and James raised his head and looked at her.

He heaved a sigh and looked at his laptop again.

“It’s Monday, Tina. A serious person would be busy. Why are you here today?” He asked.

“What do you mean? I’m here because I want to see my friend. Is there anything bad about that?”

“Of course not. But you have to know I won’t pay too much attention to you. I will be going to Florida by noon. I would love to visit the Casino. It’s been a year.”

“Oh. That’s cool. Well, I came here because I’m on leave from work. Tell me, how was the woman I gave to you last night?”

She sat on the chair in front of his desk and began to grin boastfully.

“There was nothing special about her. She didn’t satisfy me to the peak, and she is just dumb. I wonder where you found that one.”

“Really? Wow. I’m sorry about that. I’ll make it up to you then. I’ll find you a better woman next time.”

He shook his head and smirked. “You don’t have to.”

“Why? Because you are married?”

He rolled his eyes and looked at her.

“This has nothing to do with my being married. In Fact, I am not married, okay? I just prefer I do the picking instead. I always find the better one myself. I will do that in Florida today.”

“Hm.” She bounced her head and sighed.

“You haven’t thought of getting between her legs? I mean your wife.”

“No. I don’t think that thought would ever cross my mind. Nothing about her turns me on.”

All this while, James talked with a straight face, keeping his attention fixed on his laptop.

Amelia stood in front of his office, her ear glued to the door, listening to everything they were discussing.

James’ last statement shattered her heart more than the other things they had been discussing.

‘Even after trying to look sexy for him, it still doesn’t work. What will I do to satisfy him?’

She walked away from the door and sat on her seat. She picked the document he had asked her to prepare and headed to his door again.

She knocked on the door and didn’t wait for him to tell her to go in before she did.

“Here are the documents, Mr. James. I prepared them already.”

She walked to his desk and placed the file on his table. She looked at Tina and clenched her jaws angrily.

‘You are the bad friend that introduces him to all these bad girls, hun?’

Tina noticed how Amelie was looking at her, and she creased her brows and spoke up; “Why are you staring at me like that?”

Amelia ignored her question and looked at James again. He was busy checking through the file she had prepared.

“Get ready to present this in Florida. There’s a meeting we need to attend there. I wouldn’t be able to attend because I would love to visit my Casino. You would have to represent the company there. Explain some few things in the file and you’ll be fine.”

“I would go to the meeting alone?!” Her eyes widened, and he stopped looking at the file and shot her a deadly look.

“And why are you so shocked about that? You can’t go alone?”

“No. It’s … it’s just that, I would prefer we went together. I would be able to speak better when I see someone I know around. You can visit the Casino after the meeting too.”

James clenched his fist and hit the table, making Amelia jump.

“Are you questioning my decision?”

“No, I’m sorry. I…”

“Shut the f**k up. You are going to that meeting alone, and you must perform well.” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Amelia exhaled softly and bounced her head.

“Performing well is not my problem. You know I can do that. I just want you to be present. But it’s fine, I understand you have things to do. I’ll go alone.”

Amelia glared at Tina one more time before she headed out of the office.

When she was out, Tina rolled her eyes and looked at James.

“I don’t like her at all. She gets on my nerves every time.”

“Tina, can we talk later? I have important things to do, and you are distracting me. If you have an issue with her, go and tell her. It’s none of my business,” He responded coldly.

Tina scoffed and stood up angrily.

“Sometimes I wonder if you are truly my friend. You act weird everytime.”

She picked up her bag and headed out of the office. James kept mute until she was out of the office. He valued his business more than petty talks.

Amelia picked up her jotter and looked at the points that she had written. She was still on point two, which was to focus on the positives.

“I guess the positive thing here is my work. I need to focus on this job. That is the only positive thing in my life at the moment.” She muttered to herself and marked the point out.

She moved onto the next which was, ‘Take yourself seriously’.

‘How do I take myself seriously?’ She thought when she saw Tina walk out of James’ office. She expected her to leave, instead, she headed to her table again.

“Hey, you. Why were you looking at me like that? Do you have an issue with me?”

Amelia gulped and took a glance at her jotter again. She wanted to ignore her but then, her eyes fell on point four which was, ‘Speak up!’

Immediately she saw it, she sprang to her feet.

“I should ask you that. What is your problem with me? You know your friend is married and you are still introducing sluts to him? What kind of friend are you? If your kind are the only friends on earth, I prefer to die without friends! You are evil!”

Tina blinked and her mouth parted in shock as she listened to Amelia speak. She never expected such words from her.

“Wait… was all that for me?”

“This should be the last time I know you keep giving him these girls! If I were you, I’d work on myself and get myself something profitable to do,” Amelia added.

Tina grew so mad at her, and she raised her hand to slap Amelia when James spoke from behind her.

“Stop! I won’t let you do that in my company. If you want to fight, take it outside.”

Amelia lowered her hand which she raised to guide her face from Tina’s slap. Tina withdrew her hand and stormed to where James stood.

“Didn’t you see what she did? She just insulted me.”

“I don’t care what she did to you, Tina. This is my company, and I won’t tolerate you hitting any of my workers.”

Tina’s eyes watered in no time when she heard James’ words. She regretted ever showing her face in the company.

“F**k you, James!”

She ran to the elevator and punched the button in anger. James looked at Amelia and saw her looking at Tina.

‘Where did that attitude come from? Why has she kept it sealed until now?’ He thought, still staring at her.

Amelia turned to look at James and caught him staring. She relaxed the muscles in her face and her frown washed off slowly.

“I’m sorry about that, Mr. James. She got on my nerves.”

“So you have a nerve?” He asked, raising one of his eyebrows, and a smile crept up her face.

She too found it hard to believe she could speak up with such confidence. All thanks to her jotted points.

“I think I do.” She lowered her head shyly and couldn’t stop smiling.

“I won’t tolerate that kind of issue in this office. If you have any comebacks for anyone, you can do it outside the company.”

“Yes, sir.”

She nodded and kept her head bowed.

“It’s noon. We should get going.” He uttered.

Amelia picked up her jotter and threw it into her bag. She carried her bag and picked her car keys. She led the way to the elevator.

James smirked as he walked behind her. ‘I think I love that bad bitch side of her.’ He thought and kept staring at her.
