A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 33: Kiss me now.

Chapter 33: Kiss me now.

Amelia was done at the company where the meeting took place and headed to her car.

She hadn’t spoken to James since they arrived in Florida. She wasn’t sure if she could head back to Alabama without him.

She sat in her car and put a call across to Elena. She couldn’t stop thinking of how to get to her apartment without James knowing.

“Hi, Elena.”

“Hi, Amelia. How are you doing?”

“I’m good. And how are you?”

“I guess I’m good too.”

“I’m very sorry about last night. I didn’t mean to make you cry.”

“C’mon, Elena. It’s not your fault. It’s James’ fault. He is the one that made me cry. Will you be able to visit today?”

“I’m not so sure, Elena. I’m in Florida as we speak. I just finished a meeting.”

“Florida? Wow. So, you went alone?”

“No. Mr. James is in Florida too, but he isn’t with me at the moment. He is in his Casino. I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back to Alabama without him. Even if I do come back, it will be late at night.”

“That means you can’t come today, right?” Elena responded with a sad tone.

“I’m sorry, Elena. I wish I could. I can come some other time, or you can just tell me over the phone.”

“I just want you to know James is an evil person. If you have any chance to run away from him, do it.”

Amelia creased her brows as she listened to her carefully.

“Evil person? I don’t think he is evil. He just…”

“So what do you call a rapist?”

“A rapist?! You are trying to tell me Mr. James is a rapist? He will never do that!” Amelia exclaimed in disbelief.

“So you are believing him now? Have you forgotten how bad he has treated you? You being his wife doesn’t change anything. He is going to hurt you if he wants to. Run away from him, Amelia.”

Amelia’s jaw slacked as she stared down the streets. She was too stunned to speak. She knew James was a tough guy to deal with, but never expected him to be a rapist. It was too hard for her to believe.

“I don’t think I can believe that, Elena.” She responded in a low tone.

“Do you think I’m lying? Why would I lie about such a thing to you, Amelia? You are my friend, and I’m trying to warn you! James is evil. Stay away from him. You deserve someone better.”

Elena’s voice turned loud and aggressive. Amelia swallowed hard and blinked severally. She bounced her head and spoke up again.

“I would have to talk to him about it.”

“No! Don’t you dare! I have never told anybody. If he knew I told you, I’d be dead, okay?”

Amelia bounced her head and narrowed her gaze again. Her phone began to vibrate, and she checked the screen to see it was her alarm. It was 6pm already.

“Are you there, Amelia?” Elena asked.

“I have to go now, Elena. We’ll talk later, okay?”

She hung up the call and scrolled through her phone for James’ number. It was getting very late, and he still hadn’t come to the company as they had planned.

She wasn’t sure if she could go to the Casino or keep waiting for him.

She found his number and stared at it for minutes. She got anxious seeing his phone number alone.

She had not called him since she got his phone number from his mom. And now being the first time she was going to call him, she heard something very bad about him. Something she never expected.

She summoned courage and dialed his number. Hoping that he wouldn’t answer the phone.

***

James was busy playing Poker when his phone began to ring in the breast pocket of his suit.

He raised his hand, excusing himself from the game. He pulled out his phone and saw “My Dear Wife” calling.

“My dear wife? Who the f**k is my dear wife?” He muttered, furrowing his brows.

He looked up and saw other players staring at him. It was his turn to face up his card.

He looked back and saw the manager in charge of the casino, standing behind him.

“Can you please take over? I need to answer this.”

He raised his phone and his manager bounced his head. James stood up and stepped away from the table. This time, the phone had stopped ringing.

‘Please don’t tell me my dear wife is Amelia. Who the f**k saved her number on my phone. With that name!’ He thought.

His phone began to ring again, it was still “my dear wife” calling.

He answered the phone and placed it on his ear, waiting for my dear wife to speak up.

“Mr. James, are you there?”

“Amelia?”

“Yes, Mr. James.”

“Who the f**k told you to save your number as my dear wife on my phone?!”

“What? I have never touched your phone. I didn’t do it.”

James then remembered his mother had asked for his phone before, and he gave it to her without questioning her.

‘She must have saved it that day. God, mother is something else.’ He thought.

“Why are you calling?”

“Errrm. I am done at the meeting now. So I was thinking of coming to the casino too.”

“Why do you want to come here?”

“I don’t know… To. To have fun, I guess,” She mumbled.

“Suit yourself. We will fly back to Alabama tomorrow. I’d book a hotel later. I’m busy now, don’t call me again.”

He hung up before Amelia could respond and threw his phone into his pocket. He looked back and saw his manager smiling widely.

“You won, right?”

“Of course, I did,” he responded, parking all of the money on the table into a bag.

“Let’s celebrate then.”

He tapped his shoulder and they all headed to the bar in the casino. James ordered Vodka and Cranberry Juice and began to sip it.

“You have done a great job here. I love how it keeps improving every year,” He said to his manager.

“Thank you, Mr. James. I’m trying my best to keep the Casino running, the way you have always wanted it.”

James smiled widely and pointed to the bag that was full of money.

“That is yours. Consider it a bonus from me.”

His Manager, Gray, chuckled and nodded. “Thank you, Mr. James.”

James took another sip from the drink and looked around again. His eyes fell on a gorgeous woman that sat at a corner. Her eyes were on him too, she was also sipping her drink.

She winked at him, and James raised his eyebrows, showing her he was impressed. She stood up and approached him afterward.

“Hi.” Her voice was super calm and angelic. A seductive smile complimented her red lips.

“Hi,” James responded, feeling down for her already.

“Do you want to get out of here?” She asked, and he let out a smirk.

“Of course.” He stood up and stretched his right hand to her. She took his hand and they both headed away from the bar.

“Wouldn’t you ask what my name is?”

“Does that matter? I don’t think so,” He responded, and she chuckled in response.

Amelia walked into the Casino, holding her bag to herself firmly. She looked around and saw the place was full and everyone was busy doing one thing or the other.

‘Where do I know he is now? And he had warned me not to call him.’ She thought, scanning the whole place with her eyes. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She walked up to one of the men she believed was a worker, with a warm smile.

“Hi, Good evening. Please can I know where the restroom is?” She asked.

“Yes. It’s down there. The last door.”

“Thank you so much,” She responded, looking at the direction in which he had pointed.

She walked down the hallway, looking for the restroom closely. She didn’t want to make the mistake of barging into a room she shouldn’t.

She got to the end of the hallway and found the last door, she hurriedly opened the door and walked in.

She looked up and saw James in front of her. He had a beautiful-looking woman’s leg wrapped around his torso, and she was pinned to the wall. They were both looking at her.

She then realized she had entered a different room. It was nothing close to a restroom.

“Mr. James,” She mumbled, and James shot her a deadly look.

She hurriedly lowered her head and walked out of the room. Her heart was threatening to jump out of her chest as she hurried down the hallway. She hated what she saw.

‘Why can’t he stay away from slut for a week?! Most he f**k any beautiful girl he sees? Can’t he respect the fact that he is married?’

Amelia couldn’t help but feel so hurt. Even though she knew he didn’t like her, she still didn’t like seeing him with other women.

After she kept walking fast for some time, she began to run.

*

James wanted to continue kissing her when she looked at his left hand and saw a ring on it.

“Hey. Are you married?” She asked.

“Do you want to do this, or should I stop? I hate women that ask too many questions.”

“I’ve lost interest. I hate being interrupted, and I don’t like married men.”

James scoffed and moved farther from the wall. He reached for her legs and pushed them off him.

“Hey, easy…” She muttered, feeling offended.

James ignored her and walked out of the room angrily.

“Everything was going well until she interrupted!” He mumbled in anger.

*

Amelia kept running with her head bowed, when all of a sudden, she ran into a man. She raised her head and looked at him.

“I'm so sorry,” She mumbled, and he shook his head.

“It’s fine. Are you okay? Why are you crying?” He raised her face with his finger and stared at her face with worry.

“It’s nothing. I’m good,” She responded, trying to hide her face from him.

“Are you sure? Did you get hurt? I know there can be some crazy guys around here.”

As he was talking, Amelia sighted James from afar, he was walking towards them.

Before he could look at them, Amelia looked at the man in front of her and said; “Kiss me.”

“What?” He asked, looking very confused.

“Kiss me now!” She said and pulled him in. She wrapped her hands around his neck and kissed him deeply.
