"Miss Atlas!"
The servant rushed forward and quickly caught her. "Help! Please come help..."
With piercing screams through the halls, the whole mansion descended into chaos in an instant.
In the conference room, Trevor's eyelids started twitching all of a sudden. As soon as he rubbed his eyes, his phone started ringing. Seeing it was a call from home, his heart skipped a beat.
He picked up the call and stood up. He had just taken two steps before he came to a halt. "What did you say?"
"Master Trevor, something's wrong. Miss Atlas has fainted!"
"What happened?"
With a roar of rage, Trevor's expression changed. He turned around and said, "Dismissed!"
Then, he strode out of the door while listening to the person at the other end of the call. The color drained from his face. "Okay, I'll be back right away!"
After hanging up, he gave Carson a call.
As soon as Holger walked out, he saw a crazed Trevor. "What happened?"
Trevor turned around, still with a serious look. "A personal matter! By the way, are there any updates on the bathroom incident?"
"I was just about to tell you! Although there isn't any obvious evidence, there is a very suspicious staff member!"
"A staff member?"
Knowing that Holger would not say such things at discretion, Trevor was puzzled. "Who is it?" Who dared to lay hands on her?
"Natalie Harris, the company's logistics department assistant-cum-gofer. She doesn't have a fixed job scope as of now-"
He had no memory of interacting with such a low-level rookie. All of a sudden, he remembered that she had a rather unattractive, red birthmark on her face.
As Holger was about to explain, Trevor suddenly interjected, "What? A gofer?"
How could a logistics gofer do such a thing? This was unacceptable!
Holger shrugged and said, "For the time being, we think it's her. However, I still don't have all the details yet! Would you like to interrogate her?" Without asking for his opinion, he hadn't taken any action yet!
"Vicky is unwell. I need to go back. We'll talk about these things when I come back! As for the followup issues, help me deal with them!"
After saying that, Trevor hurriedly entered the elevator.
As soon as Trevor set foot in the house, he saw the gift box in the living room. At the sight of the bloody rabbit, he couldn't help but feel nauseated by
it.
He waved his hand and said, "Hurry up and deal with this! Also, get the records for the nearby surveillance cameras for me!"
Right after he gave the orders, a familiar scream came from upstairs.
"Vicky..."
With a shout, Trevor rushed upstairs. As soon as he pushed open the door of the bedroom, he saw Victoria was grabbing her own hair and screaming on the bed. Carson and the help were standing around the bed.
"Vicky, Vicky..."
Trevor squeezed through the crowd and quickly pulled her into his embrace. "Don't be scared.
Don't panic. I'm here, I'm here!"
"Hubby, blood, ugh!"
The bloody image flashed across Victoria's mind, making her feel nauseous. Her long eyelashes were fluttering and she felt like she was stuck in a trance.
"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. You're just dreaming!"
Trevor caressed her hair as he held her in his arms. He mouthed to Carson, "Put her to sleep!"
Carson immediately understood what he meant and quickly took out the tranquilizer.
"Dream? Was that a dream?"
Victoria muttered, confused about the situation. She looked at him puzzledly. The familiar scent and warmth had calmed her down. Just Like a lost child, her eyes were full of innocence.
"How could that be? I think I saw..."
Subconsciously, she looked down and tried to remember what she saw. Trevor hurriedly interrupted her. "Did you forget that you had a fever? The fever made you feel a little woozy, didn't it?"
Once again, her forehead was sweating and her skin was cold. Trevor caressed her face as he tried to make her forget the disgusting scene. "You're still a little sleep- drunk! And you're sweating! Let Carson give you another injection, get some rest and your fever will be gone! Be a good girl!"
Trevor persuaded her, and without giving her any time to react, he pulled up her sleeve, revealing her arm. While she was still in a daze, Carson quickly gave her the injection.
In a trance, Victoria's head began to feel heavy again. "Is that so? Do I still have a fever? Haven't I recovered? Am I dreaming? I do feel a little sleepy..."
After muttering for a bit, she closed her eyes and fell asleep in his arms.
Trevor caressed her pale cheeks. He felt as if his heart was being stabbed by a sharp knife.
At that moment, the help, as well as Carson, took a few steps back, giving them space.
After a while, Trevor put her down on the bed reluctantly, tucked her in, and beckoned everyone to leave the room.
As soon as the door of the room closed, he barked out his order.
"Tell everyone that no one is allowed to mention a single word about what happened today to Miss Atlas! She has not been feeling well and has been sleeping the entire time. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Sir!"
They respectfully nodded and bowed. Then, one of them ran downstairs in a hurry.
"Go in and take care of her. Inform me right away when she wakes up. Do you know what to say?"
"Yes! Miss Atlas has a fever and has been sleeping for a long while. Master Trevor is worried, so he brought Doctor Vives over after the meeting to have a look at her!"
Seeing that she was smart enough to have understood his instructions, Trevor nodded and waved his hand. He then looked at Carson and gestured to him to go downstairs.
"How is she? Did she get hurt?"
"She was so shocked that she
couldn't take it and fainted!
Physically, she's okay, but mentally, she is probably traumatized. Once she opened her eyes, she started screaming in panic before her eyesight could even focus. This is obviously a reaction provoked by a stressful event. That... really was terrifying!"
Her shock was unsurprising. Even he, a mentally resilient man, felt a shiver run down his spine when he saw the ghastly sight. It was no wonder she fainted.
"She just recovered from her fever and is still weak both physically and mentally. Who would send such a disgusting thing to a woman? How vicious of that person! To be honest, the damage by fear and mental destruction is far greater than that of physical injuries! If she was timid, she would have been scared to death! Her heart rate was rapid just now!"
As soon as Carson finished speaking, Trevor's face darkened. He clenched his fists, "Is there any way to deal with this?"
"It's best that she forgets what she
saw! Also, it must never happen again! If this goes on, she'll lose her mind! If a person has a mental breakdown, it's just a matter of time before that person collapses, no matter how strong that person is!"
