Lets put this behind us.
Nathan gripped the steering wheel tightly as he drove home, his mind consumed with thoughts of Demelza and her furious reaction earlier.
He replayed the scene in his head, the way she had stormed off, her eyes filled with anger and hurt. The confirmation of Silver’s pregnancy had been a blow to their relationship, and he couldn’t blame Demelza for being upset.
As he pulled into the driveway, a wave of relief washed over him when he saw Demelza standing by the front door. She had returned home, and he hoped that meant they could talk things through. Nathan parked the car and hurriedly made his way towards her.
“Demelza,” he called out, his voice filled with both concern and apology. “I’m so sorry about everything. I never meant for any of this to happen.”
Demelza crossed her arms, her expression still guarded. “How could you do this, Nathan? How could you have a child with another woman?”
Nathan took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to explain himself. “It was a mistake, Demelza. Silver and I meant nothing. We had a brief thing that wasn’t even a relationship, but it meant nothing. You’re the one I love, the one I want to be with.”
Tears welled up in Demelza’s eyes, her voice trembling with hurt. “But how can I trust you now? How can I believe that this won’t happen again?” She knew silver spoke about the pregnancy but a part of her wanted to believe that it wasn’t true. Facing reality made her feel horrible.
Nathan stepped closer, reaching out to gently touch her arm. “I promise you, Demelza. Silver will have no place in our lives. She’s going to stay in a condo, and I’ll only be involved in the baby’s life. You are my priority, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right.”
Demelza looked into his eyes, searching for sincerity. After a moment of silence, she reluctantly nodded. “Okay, Nathan. I’ll try to trust you again, but you have to understand how much this has hurt me.”
Nathan nodded, his heart aching at the pain he had caused her. Slowly, he leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss against her lips, hoping to convey his love and remorse through the touch.
They stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, knowing that rebuilding their relationship would take time and effort. But in that moment, they were determined to face the challenges together, hoping that love would conquer all.
Nathan held her even closer, his voice gentle as ever “It’s been a tough day for both of us.”
They tried finding comfort in the silence that enveloped them. Slowly, they began to let go, their bodies still close but their hearts lighter.
“Let’s put this behind us,” Nathan suggested, a small smile playing on his lips. “How about we make dinner together? I’ll help you.”
Demelza’s eyes brightened, a hint of a smile forming on her face. “That sounds wonderful. I could use some company in the kitchen.”
They moved to the countertop, side by side, as they gathered the ingredients for their meal.
The clanking of pots and pans filled the room, accompanied by the occasional laughter that escaped their lips.
The tension that had once consumed them was slowly replaced by a sense of ease and familiarity.
As they chopped vegetables and stirred sauces, their conversation flowed effortlessly, their words a soothing balm to their wounded souls.
Finally, the aroma of their cooking filled the kitchen, and they set the table together, their hands brushing against each other’s as they arranged the plates and cutlery.
“Voila,” Demelza announced, a proud smile on her face. “Dinner is served.”
Nathan pulled out a chair for her, his eyes filled with love. “Thank you, Demelza. This looks amazing.”
They sat down, their hands finding each other across the table, their eyes locked in a silent promise of happiness. As they took their first bites, a knock echoed through the house, interrupting their moment.
“I wonder who that could be,” Nathan mused, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.
Demelza playfully nudged him. “Oh, come on, brave knight. Are you scared to face the unknown?”
Nathan chuckled, shaking his head. “You’re probably right. But who’s going to check?”
They looked at each other, a playful glint in their eyes. “Rock, paper, scissors?” Demelza suggested.
Nathan nodded, raising his hand. “Alright, best out of three.”
They played their game, their laughter filling the room once again. After a few rounds, they ended up with a tie.
With a shared grin, they stood up, hand in hand, and made their way to the front door.
With crossed feelings, they made their way to the front door, their hands intertwined. As they swung it open, their smiles faded, replaced by shock and disbelief.
“Silver!” they exclaimed in unison, their voices filled with frustration.Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
The evil witch stood before them, a wicked grin on her face. “Surprised to see me, my dear friends? I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.” Silver teased
Standing before them was Silver, surrounded with her suitcases, her face contorted with Mischief.
Despite Demelza’s obvious frustration, she managed to maintain her composure as she left them and headed upstairs to the bedroom.
“You can’t just barge in like this,” he said, his voice tinged with exasperation. “I gave you the best apartment money can buy. What more do you need?”
Silver glared at him, her eyes flashing with resentment. “I can’t be pregnant and live alone,” she retorted sharply. “I need support, Nathan. I need you to be there for me.”
Nathan sighed, realizing the gravity of the situation. “I understand that, but I can’t just uproot my life for you. I have responsibilities here.”
She crossed her arms defiantly. “Responsibilities? What about our child? Doesn’t he deserve a stable home?”
Nathan’s frustration grew, but he tried to remain calm. “I’ll hire a maid, a cook, a bodyguard, whatever you need. But you can’t just barge in like this.”
She shook her head, her determination unwavering. “No, Nathan. I want to be here with you. I want our child to grow up in a loving family.”
Nathan looked torn, his gaze shifting between silver and his girlfriend. He knew that this decision would have far reaching consequences for all of them.
As the tension hung heavy in the air, Silver took a step forward, her eyes pleading. “Please, Nathan. Let me stay. Let us be a family.”
Nathan took a deep breath, realizing that he had to make a difficult choice. He looked behind him, then back at silver and finally nodded. “Fine,” he said, his voice filled with resignation. “You can stay. But just for the night
Nathan led Silver down the hallway towards the guest room, his voice stern as he warned her to behave herself. “Listen, Silver, I’m serious. This is my house and I won’t tolerate any trouble from you.”
Silver huffed and rolled her eyes, a mischievous glint in her gaze. “Oh, don’t worry, baby. I’ll be on my best behavior,” she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm. She plopped down on the edge of the bed, crossing her arms defiantly.
Nathan sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “I mean it, Silver. Demelza is already skeptical about you staying here. I don’t want to give her any reason to kick you out.”
Silver smirked, clearly satisfied with herself. “Relax, Nathan. I’ll be an angel,” she said, her voice laced with mischief.
With a final warning glance, Nathan turned and headed towards his own bedroom. He needed to talk to Demelza, to beg her for some time to sort out the situation with Silver. He couldn’t let her stay for long, just for the night.
Entering the bedroom, Nathan found Demelza sitting with crossed legs, engrossed in her phone. He approached her cautiously, his voice filled with desperation. “Demelza, please. Give me some time to handle this. Silver will only be staying for tonight.”
Demelza looked up from her phone, her expression skeptical. “Nathan, I don’t know about this. She is trouble. Are you sure you can handle this?”
Nathan nodded earnestly, his eyes pleading. “I promise, Demelza. I’ll make sure she doesn’t cause any problems. Just give me a chance to sort things out.”
Demelza sighed, placing her phone on the side stool. “Alright, Nathan. But remember, if she causes any trouble, I’m out.”
Demelza sighed again, her eyes filled with concern. “Nathan, I don’t know if this is a good idea. She’s trouble, and you know it.” Demelza repeated.
“I know, I know,” Nathan replied, running a hand through his hair. “But I can’t just turn her away. It’s late ”
Demelza reluctantly nodded, her worry etched on her face. “Alright, but be careful. I don’t want her causing any more problems for us.”
Nathan gave her a grateful smile “Thank you, Demelza. I’ll make sure everything is under control.”
Relief flooded over Nathan as he thanked his girlfriend, grateful for her understanding. “Thank you, Demelza. I won’t let you down.”
“Can we go finish our dinner?” he asked but she ignored Nathan’s request to finish their dinner together.
She stormed into the closet, frustration evident in her every movement. She quickly changed into her nightwear, her face flushed with anger.
He hated the situation he found himself in and he felt hooked because he had to keep it all from the public to avoid tainting his reputation.
