Chapter 43 How Long Will It Take To Adapt

Chapter 43 How Long Will It Take To Adapt

Sadie withdrew her feet in time, leaned her back against the door, and quietly listened to it. The person

who came seemed to be Mr. Read who she met in the elevator last night.

"Mr. Read, how's it going?" Julian's voice was cold.

Mr. Read... Sadie raised her hand and rubbed her temple. Suddenly a name popped up in her mind—

Samuel Read.

"Mr. Mccarthy seems to be determined to win this cooperation with Mr. Gallagher's team."

"Who told you that?"

"Why do you have to be so mysterious? Unfortunately today, I am about to leave. Let's get together

someday."

"Bye."

As he finished, the man's powerful footsteps sounded, followed by the sound of the door opening and

closing of the private room.

Sadie took a deep breath, pretended that she didn't hear anything, and went out casually. The

bathroom was separated from the dining area by a screen, so Samuel did not see her.

As she sat back next to Julian, his hand reached to her immediately. His hoarse voice rang in her ears.

"Sadie, do you decide what you're going to give me?"

Sadie bit the bullet, turning her head to meet his dark eyes. "What do you want?"

"You." Julian simply said one word, his eyes gleaming.

He guessed that she was shocked. Her fair face slightly flushed, turning light pink.

He narrowed his eyes and couldn't help kissing her forehead.

Sadie raised her arm cautiously, hesitating whether she should push him away, but then he said again,

"Go back and live in school next week. Wait for my call."

"Uh..." Sadie was taken aback. Then he suddenly lowered his head and bit her lip very lightly.

Maybe it was because of his breath or the strong sunlight of the private room, she gritted her teeth and

her back soon became sweaty due to the heat.

Julian didn't stay for too long. He moved away and asked in a bewitching voice. "You are unwilling,

huh?"

Sadie took a deep breath, recalling Cohen's reminder and calmly pushing him away. "Don't go too far. I

only promised to act with you. Nothing else. Besides, even if I need to act, it takes some time to adapt

it."

Cohen said that Julian was very reasonable. If she didn't want to be hurt, she should make every effort

to fight for herself.

She raised her head lightly, her clear eyes gleaming. She looked quite calm.

Julian looked at her for a moment. Excitement flickered in his eyes. He curved his lips. "How long will it

take to adapt? Three months?"

Three months... Sadie hesitated and nodded in agreement.

After three months, it would be time to take the final exam. She could find all kinds of excuses to avoid

him. Even if he was a visiting professor of the school, he couldn't kidnap her from the school.

Just as the waiter knocked on the door and came in, Julian looked back. She lowered her head, picked

up the tissue, and rubbed his smell away from her lips so hard while pretending to be inadvertent.

The dishes at Lake Restaurant were much more delicate than those in PH Restaurant. They were

small dishes, but the taste was amazing.

Sadie had no appetite at first. But after she tasted it, she suddenly fell in love with the taste.

Back to KY Hotel after dinner, Julian had something to do. Sadie went upstairs first, directly got into the

bedroom after entering the door, and fell heavily into the bed.

As she was lying on the bed, she was in a daze for a while. When she thought of Samuel, she couldn't

help but pick up the phone to search for his information online. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She had no impression of this name. The search page popped up. She clicked on one of them, pursing

her lips and looking down at the page.

He was the youngest of the Read family, currently in charge of the business of the Read family. He also

graduated from the Wharton School, majoring in finance.

That was all the information about him. She couldn't find anything else online. The most widely

released news was that the club was open a few days ago.

The reason why she was familiar with the club was that she felt familiar with Lake Restaurant.

When they entered, Samuel only told her the location of the private room but she was able to find it,

which was really unexpected. After searching for ten minutes, she still found nothing. Therefore, she

closed the browser and got up to watch TV in the living room.

Julian was not there, so the pressure he put on her reduced a lot.

Sadie watched TV for a while and gradually fell asleep.

Julian sat on the chair, looked coldly at the middle-aged fat man kneeling on the ground, and said with

a cold voice, "Are you sure you didn't touch her?"

"I swear to God, please let my son go!" Haris Grant knelt on the ground, tremblingly begging for mercy.

"The girl’s face is so ugly. I thought that I had spent the money anyway, so I should have some fun with

her. But before I did anything to her, I was knocked out. And the guy warned me that he would kill my

son."

"How old is that guy?" Julian raised his eyebrows lightly.

Someone was secretly protecting Sadie, but why did he let her stay in the orphanage?

It was simply a place where people were ruthless and greedy. According to the information collected by

Khalid, the girls admitted into the orphanage would be arranged to raise donations after they reached

fifteen years old.

To be blunt, the orphanage treated them as playthings and sent them to those wealthy businessmen.

At this moment, Julian was thankful that Sadie didn't go through these things. Therefore, he wanted to

know who had been following her secretly.

"I don't know..." Haris shivered and stammered, "His voice sounds very young. He's probably forty

years old with very strong strength. My hands were broken by him and haven't recovered yet."

Just because he touched the ugly girl, both his hands were broken.

About forty? Julian signaled to Khalid, slowly got up and squatted beside Haris, and sneered, "Did

these two hands touch the place they shouldn't have touched?"

"Uh..." Haris was startled, and his mouth opened wide.

Julian let out a disdainful sneer, straightened up, and walked away gracefully. "Deal with him."

Khalid waved his hand to the bodyguard and walked up to Haris.

"Aargh..." The painful wailing came from behind.

Julian opened the car door and sat in the back seat.

Khalid got into the passenger seat, closed the car door, and turned his head hesitantly. "Mr. Cayde left

two people to stay here. What should we do with Lady Sadie? Samuel seems to have arranged

someone to follow you."

"Let her move back to school and send two people to protect her." Julian leaned back in the seat lazily,

reaching for a bottle of water and unscrewing it.

Khalid nodded and sat back slowly.

That was the best they could do right now. They didn't need to worry about the Read family now.

Before the final negotiation result came out, they wouldn't believe it even if they found out anything.

But it would be a bit tricky to deal with Cayden. The house was in a mess due to that people who

pretended to be Sadie. This time, Cayden suddenly came over to force Julian to go on a blind date.

The car drove into the underground parking lot of KY Hotel. It was already over ten o'clock at night.

Julian put on a coat, swiped in the elevator with his room card, and carefully recalled what Haris said.

Who was about forty years old in the Chambers family and also had strong strength?

As he entered the guest room, the TV was still on. Sadie curled up on the sofa and fell asleep with

tears still on her face.

He leaned over and carried her. Probably because the feeling of being suspended suddenly disturbed

her, she suddenly opened her eyes with a ferocious expression. "Do not touch me!"
