Her Precious Baby

Chapter 192

Chapter 192

“Since Joseline wants them, I’ll just let her have them.” Wilfred’s tone was as calm as ever. It was as though he could not be bothered with the company anymore.

Mr. Clarke let out a long sigh. “All right. I’ll do as you ask.” He only agreed in a deep voice as he dared not say anything more to refute.

With that, he left with the documents in hand. However, just when he reached the door, he heard Wilfred call out to him again. “Mr. Clarke, I’ll have to trouble you to draft another will for my private assets.”

At the Jetroinian restaurant, Evander made a reservation and requested a window seat overlooking the night scenery of the entire city from the staff. The place was lively as lights illuminated the city, and the street was flooded with cars.

With a gloomy expression, Angeline looked out of the window and cradled her chin in her palm.

“What would you like to eat?”

She only responded with a shake of her head when she heard Evander’s question. Her voice was a touch hoarse when she replied, “Go ahead and order. I don’t have much appetite.”

Evander didn’t force her. Taking the menu from the waiter, he randomly ordered a few signature dishes.

While leaning against the couch, he couldn’t help but fixate his gaze on Angeline.

The weather in October wasn’t too cold, and she wore a furry white long dress with a high collar covering half her face. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail, making her look extraordinarily innocent and delicate.

“Are you still thinking about your grandpa?”

Evander’s words managed to bring Angeline back to her senses. She lowered her gaze and gave a bitter smile. “Yeah. Although Grandpa kicked me out of the Sorelle family and cut off all ties with me, I couldn’t bring myself to hate him after I found out about Joseline’s despicable behavior.”

“I understand.”

Hearing Evander’s response, Angeline was stunned and arched her brows. “What do you understand?”

Evander raised his eyes to glance at her. It was as though he could gaze right into her heart. He then answered faintly, “Old Mr. Sorelle is on his deathbed, so you can’t bring yourself to reprimand him. Yet, you still can’t let go of all the grievances you have been suffering over the past five years after you were chased out from the family. Or maybe—”

He then paused for a moment.

Meanwhile, Angeline was slightly taken aback. Minutes passed by, and Evander finally continued, “You’re wondering if you didn’t get kicked out of the family, perhaps you could have successfully given birth to the baby back then, and it wouldn’t have gone missing.”

Everything he claimed was correct.

For some reason, Angeline felt relieved after hearing what Evander said. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

At that moment, she felt at ease like never before because she had someone who knew her so well and was willing to share her pains.

“Mr. Golding, your dinner is ready.” Just then, the servers showed up with trays of food in their hands.

Evander gestured with his eyes, and they served all the Jetroinian dishes to the table.

The tableful of scrumptious fare was mouthwatering.

“You’re dismissed.” Evander waved the servers off. The next second, he rolled up his sleeves, revealing the sparkling invaluable watch on his wrist.

He removed the shells of the fresh shrimps and placed the plate of shrimps in front of Angeline before uttering tenderly, “Eat some food first. If you’re unwell, Joseline will be the winner.”

Following his reminder, Angeline pulled herself together and began to dig in.

However, a wave of nausea hit her after she had taken only a few bites, so she left the food aside. It wasn’t until she took a few sips of warm water that she finally felt better.

In the meantime, Evander picked up the glass of wine from the table and slowly sipped at it, looking gentle. “You don’t have to worry so much. On the contrary, I think the outcome wouldn’t have been any better even if you didn’t get kicked out of the Sorelle family. It might even be worse,” he drawled.

“What do you mean by that?”

“Even though you didn’t tell me about the father of your child before, are you sure your child went missing by accident?”

His question left Angeline speechless.

“If I’m not mistaken, someone must have been manipulating things secretly. In fact, that person probably had their sights set on you since you got pregnant!”

Angeline clenched her fists under the table when she heard his remark. She couldn’t suppress her emotions even after taking a deep breath.

Judging from Evander’s words, he was telling her that someone had set her up. Hence, no matter whether she was kicked out of the family or not, the ending would be the same.

Besides that, he hoped that she wouldn’t forget who it was that she should truly be taking revenge on because of her grudge against Wilfred.

As Evander’s words enlightened Angeline, a flash of gratitude fluttered across her eyes. “Thank you, Evander.”

This time, she didn’t address him as “Mr. Golding” in a distant tone. It was as if the stone wrapped around her heart was slowly cracking without her knowing.

In truth, she had already forgiven the Sorelle family. It was just that she needed a breakthrough that could allow her to willingly let go of the hatred she had been holding for the Sorelle family for years.

Because Evander knew her like the back of his hand, he had successfully helped her to accomplish that.

Bang! Bang!

At that moment, fireworks boomed outside the window.

Angeline immediately turned around to gaze out the glass. From her angle, she could watch the fireworks clearly.

Countless fireworks bloomed in the sky like dazzling flowers.

A surprised look crept onto Angeline’s face when she saw the fireworks. Since it’s not the festive season, the city center wouldn’t allow people to light fireworks. Who’s so bold to do so?

Despite that, she was on cloud nine. She hurriedly jumped to her feet from the chair and plastered herself against the window before she spoke to Evander with excitement. “Look! How beautiful! It’s my first time seeing so many magnificent fireworks since my return to Hallsbay all those years ago.”

Evander remained seated on the chair. He couldn’t take his eyes off her as he noticed the happiness reflected in her eyes. “Yeah, me too.”

Below a commercial building a near distance away, three people were gathered around to play with the fireworks and have fun.

Floretta twirled around with sparklers in her hands, giggling with excitement all the while. “Thank you, Ms. Nancy! The fireworks are so pretty. I’ve never played with such a fun thing before.”

Nancy pulled Floretta under the roof and gazed at the latter lovingly. “You’re missing out on your childhood because your daddy is too strict with you. When I was your age, I almost drowned in the river when I caught fish in the countryside. But look at me now! I’m still alive and well,” she said with a smile.

Meanwhile, Roger walked over after he finished lighting the fireworks. While rolling his eyes at Nancy, he grumbled unceremoniously, “You have got to be kidding. Floretta is not as crazy as you! Be careful. You’d better not be a bad influence on Floretta!”

Upon hearing his words, Nancy became furious. She then pulled Roger’s ear and roared, “Are you looking for a beating? Hmph! Have you learned your lesson yet?”
