Her Precious Baby

Chapter 252

Chapter 252

Needless to say, Olivine was beyond delighted. Ha! Lady Luck has finally blessed me with the perfect opportunity! Even if Evander falls for Angeline again, there's no way a scandalous woman like her will be accepted into the prestigious Golding family.

“No need to get mad, Old Mrs. Golding,” Olivine gently comforted as she placed her cup down and rubbed Valerie's shoulder.

“It's not worth worrying yourself sick over a woman like that. Evander was just blindly infatuated with her.”

Upon hearing those words and realizing Angeline had tainted the Golding family's reputation, Valerie exploded with rage, “What's wrong with Evander? How could he have fallen for such an atrocious woman?”

“Let's not blame Evander now, Old Mrs. Golding. Our priority is to block the news from getting published, especially since some reporter's have already taken photos of Evander and Angeline together.”

“What?” Valerie exclaimed as she leaped to her feet, looking absolutely livid. “Which media company is it? How dare they disrespect the Golding family!”

A glint instantly flashed across Olivine's eyes.

“Well, you know how fast news spreads among media companies. It'll be hard to block them all unless we can find a way to extricate Evander from this mess.”

Perceptive as always, Valerie fell silent and began pacing around with the aid of her- walking stick. Of course, it didn't take long before a plan came to mind.

With that, she quickly turned around and held Olivine's hand.

“Olivine, you and Evander have known each since you were kids, and I've always regarded you as my granddaughter-in-law. Alas, it was never made official, and I deeply regret that. It must've been tough on you.”

Even though tears had started welling up in Olivine's eyes, she put on a brave front and shook her head understandingly.

“It's okay, Old Mrs. Golding. I'm willing to wait for Evander no matter how long it takes.”

“Air, you're a good kid,” Valerie said, tenderly patting the young woman's hand before pulling the latter toward herself. “However, you don't have to wait anymore. I'll get our butler to arrange a press conference and set a wedding date for you and Evander. I've checked the calendar before, and the fifteenth of next month seems like the perfect day.”

For a moment, Olivine was so shocked that she didn't know what to say.

Oh, my gosh. I have planned on using Old Mrs. Golding's influence to get close to Evander, but who knew she'd do me such a huge favor by deciding on our wedding? She must really hate Angeline to the core!

Despite bubbling over with excitement, Olivine eventually snapped out of her daze and lowered her head with a look of feigned coyness.

“Hmm... But wouldn't Evander be mad that we didn't get his opinion?”

“He nearly brought shame to tire entire Golding family. What right does he have to disobey me?” Valerie scoffed.

I love my grandson a lot, but this time, I have to harden my heart and do what's best for him and the family!

True enough, even though Valerie usually seemed like the peace-loving matriarch, everyone knew better than to defy her orders when she was in a rage.

Otherwise, how could someone who had merely married into the Golding family have kept the clan going strong for so many years?

Now that the tables had been completely tinned against Angeline, Olivine was filled with indescribable joy.

I'm glad tlrat all the years I spent visiting the Golding residence and cozying up to Old Mrs. Golding have not been in vain. Ha... So what if Angeline is good at seducing men? She still lost in tire end!

Meanwhile, Angeline felt as though she had slept for a century as she continuously wove in and out of nightmares.

It took a lot of effort, but she finally opened her eyes and bolted upright in bed, panting heavily as her sweat-soaked clothes clung uncomfortably to her skin.

Just then, a bright, chirpy voice rang out beside her. “Angel, are you okay?”

Angeline instantly looked up, only to see Floretta, with her two pigtails, standing by tire bed. Huh? Am I still dreaming, or is this reality?

“Floretta? Ar en't you supposed to be at the Golding residence?” she asked suspiciously.

“Air, thank goodness the fever didn't turn you silly,” Floretta replied as she felt Angeline's forehead. When the little girl realized the latter's fever had gone down, she sighed heavily and explained,

“School's over, and I pleaded with Franny for ages before she brought me here. You've already been sleeping for two days, Angel! You lazy piggy!”

Angeline couldn't help but frown in confusion. What? I had a fever for two days? Wiry don't I know' anything?

It wasn't until she looked up and saw the half-empty IV drip that she finally knew' she wasn't dreaming.

Feeling utterly helpless, she held up her hands and massaged her throbbing temples.

I can't believe it's been two days... How's Sebastian doing, then?

Unable to calm her anxious droughts, Angeline promptly tried to remove the IV needle.

“No, Angel!” Floretta said sternly as she shot a hand out to stop the young woman. “Daddy said you can't leave until you've finished your IV treatment and has also instructed me to stay with you at all times.”

Undeterred, Angeline gazed at her little nurse and gently pleaded, “Don't worry. I'll be fine. Sebastian, however, needs to be cared for. I have to go to him.”

“No!” Floretta replied firmly. “That can wait.”

Angeline sighed. I bet Evander must've taught her to say that. With that determined look and confident posture, she does bear a striking resemblance to him.

Before she could say anything else, Francesca entered the room with a bowl of stew and walked to the bed. “That's right, Ms. Sorelle. There's no hurry.” After using a thermometer to take Angeline's temperature, she added, “The fever's finally gone down.

You haven't eaten in two days, so I brought you some food.”

“Thank you,” Angeline said gratefully as she accepted the stew and began stirring it mindlessly. “So, did anything happen when I was unconscious?”

Knowing what worried Angeline the most, Francesca instantly curled her lips into a smile.

“Don't worry, Ms. Sorelle. Mr. Sebastian is safe and doing well. Mr. Golding sent him to a psychiatrist and persuaded him to undergo treatment. From what I heard, his condition has improved a lot.” This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Angeline heaved a sigh of relief and took a sip of her stew. “I'm very grateful for his help.”

As long as Evander's in charge, I know I can always trust him to do the right thing.

Sadly, given that she had only just recovered, Angeline didn't have much appetite, nor could she taste her food very well. Nevertheless, she knew' she had to regain her strength for Sebastian, so she forced herself to finish the stew.

As soon as she was done eating and felt a little better, she gazed fondly at Floretta, who was sitting quietly beside the bed and drawing away.

I've been so busy recently that I completely neglected her. Would she blame me for it?

The next second, Angeline got out of bed and sauntered to Floretta's table. Not wanting to disturb the little girl, she leaned forward and grabbed her phone.

Well, I'm sure my public admission of having given birth before has sent the internet into a tizzy. I can already picture the amount of news I'd be inundated with.
