Chapter 121
Chapter 121
121. Big news!
“Be careful, Mommy.”
“And don’t be afraid to face Finnic! That arrogant man deserves to be silenced.”
Kara chuckled at her children. After kissing each other on the cheek, she returned to her feet. While
Kara said goodbye to Susan, Frank looked at his children sadly.
“Do you guys want to hug me too?”
Louis’ eyes widened. “You’ve grown up. Are you a spoiled adult?”
Frank’s heart tingled when he heard that. Smiling faintly, he spread his arms. “Everyone likes to be
pampered by the people they love.”
After hesitating, Louis finally accepted the hug. He even gave Frank a pat on the back. “Good luck, From NôvelDrama.Org.
Mister Harper.”
Frank closed his eyes for a moment, soaking in the warmth. “Thank you, Buddy.”
Then, he looked at Emily expectantly. “Do you
The little girl’s eyebrows immediately furrowed and her lips pursed. Worried that she might cry, Frank
swallowed his words again.
“Okay,” he got up with teary eyes. “See you in two days, Emily.”
After saying goodbye, Frank and Kara got into the limousine. Louis. waved excitedly, while Emily just
raised her hands. Frank’s gaze. remained fixed on her.
“Frank, are you crying?” Kara raised an eyebrow, examining the CEO’s eyes more closely.
Instead of rubbing his face, the man smiled sadly. “Emily still hates me.”
Without a word, Kara patted his shoulder. What else could they do? Regret was that bitter.
However, when the limousine arrived at the gate, their attention was diverted. Several large trucks
moved in. Their load seemed full.
“What’s that?” Kara sighed with furrowed eyebrows.
The corner of Frank’s lips now released the burden. “Louis’ orders.” He handed the tablet to Kara. She
immediately looked at the list displayed.
“A set of drones, a dozen Legos, swimming equipment, story books, a complete painting tool package,
a complete design tool package, a knitting tool set, a massage chair, a greenhouse installation, a spal
installation?”
Kara’s eyes almost popped out. “Louis asked for all this?”
While smiling, Frank handed over a book. “Louis gave me a guide to make you guys happy. He laid it
out very completely.”
Kara’s jaw dropped even wider. “But you don’t have to obey him, Frank. He’s still small. He can’t yet
sort out what he really needs.”
“But I think he can, and I’m very grateful for his initiative. I should have given all of that to you a long
time ago.”
Frank took Kara’s hand and gave her a kiss. His gray eyes were so calm and cool.
“Besides, there are still many things have to fulfill. Wait until we come back. We will celebrate the
children’s birthdays then complete the list. The beautiful days will come soon.”
Kara pondered for a moment. For some reason, a strange feeling
After a blink, Kara sighed, “Okay. But please don’t pamper the twins too much. I don’t want them to be
wasteful and complacent.”
Frank smiled slightly and nodded. “Okay, but you don’t mind if I spoil you, right? Since it’s just the two
of us, how about we consider this mission as a short vacation?”
“That’s on the list too?” Kara checked the page about her wishes. Accompanying Mom on holiday? OK,
Louis wrote it.”
Frank suddenly burst out laughing. “Yes, but that’s not what I mean. I
just want you to relax. We can take the real vacation later, with the
kids.”
Seeing the man’s sincerity, Kara’s heart warmed. “I’m glad you gave us the opportunity to have fun with
you. But, you have to remember Frank. It’s not luxuries that the twins want from you. Your presence
and affection alone, that’s more than enough.”
Stroking the back of Kara’s hand with his thumb, Frank took a deep breath. His chest was tight with
emotion and hope.
“I really can’t wait to finish this cruise mission. Once your nam cleared, we can start all over again,” he
sighed.
Kara smiled and gave a small nod. She her self felt the same. She couldn’t wait to establish herself as
Frank’s companion.
However, once they reached the port, her enthusiasm turned to tension. The number of journalists and
cameras at the entrance to the ship far exceeded expectations.
“Kara, are you okay?” Frank could feel the hand in his grip freeze.
Kara faked a smile on her pale face. “Yeah, I just need to stick with you, right?”
Detecting lies in the wavering voice, Frank ordered the driver to stop.
‘Hey, it’s okay, Kara. Everything will be okay. Now calm down, catch your breath.” Frank massaged his
lover’s hand, trying to calm her fears.
Meanwhile, on the cruise ship, several middle-aged women were
enjoying the crowd. From the edge of the deck railing, they talked and laughed.
“Melissa, you are very lucky. Your son is so handsome and well- established. Your future daughter-in-
law is also no less rich and
pretty. They really are the perfect couple.”
“You’re right. I can’t imagine how wonderful their children will be. If I were in Melissa’s position, I
wouldn’t wait for my grandchildren to
arrive.”
Covering her laughter with a fan, Mrs. Miller patted her friend on the arm. “You are really good in
complimenting.”
“We’re not complimenting, but talking about reality. Just look! How many media are covering this grand
wedding? I’ve never seen them this enthusiastic.”
Melissa chuckled again. From the outside she looked blushing. While in fact, her heart had soared far
away.
“You are exaggerating again. My in-laws are a cruise ships owner and hotelier. They would be
embarrassed if their daughter’s wedding was held in a simple place.”
The eyes of the other two women sparkled even brighter.
“That’s why we call you lucky, Melissa. Not everyone deserves to be with Sophia. But Finnic ….”
They made amazed gestures as if no words could describe it.
“They are both lucky to find equal partners.”
Melissa’s eyes narrowed. The curve of her lips turned into a knot.
You’re right. I’m really lucky. If Finnic were still with that girl, he
wouldn’t be this successful.”
One of her friends gasped. Her finger was raised, sorting through memories. “Oh, his cheap and poor
ex-girlfriend? What’s her name? Kira? Kera? Where is she now?”
“Kara Martin,” the other said with a mocking look. “I used to wonder why Finnic wanted to be with her.
Luckily, her scandal was revealed.”
“Yeah, she’s really embarrassing. Luckily Finnic came to his senses. Young women nowadays are
scary. It’s hard to tell which ones are truly refined like Sophia.”
“You’re too kind, Melissa. Why pray for that girl? She deserves
thrown into the sea.”
“Right. Now, let’s forget her. It’s a happy day. And hey, who’s comi
