Chapter 148 Twins' Birthday Party
Emily smiled cutely. "Thank you, Mr. Wilson."
"Is Emily the only one who gets it?" Louis asked with slightly furrowed eyebrows.
“Don't worry, Louis. Mister Wilson couldn't possibly forget you. Look! There are two boxes in here.”
Emily handed Louis the bag she had opened. The little boy immediately peeked. Finding two boxes
decorated with crown stickers, he chuckled. “Thank you, Mr. Wilson.”
“That is special edition perfume from my company. I hope you like it," Ben explained, glancing at Kara
and Frank who were standing near the twins. It was clear that the two people were alert.
“Is it safe for children?” Emily asked, catching Ben's attention again.
The man nodded quickly. “Yes, of course it's safe. It's a special perfume for kids. You can wear it to
important events that you will often attend."
“This is an important event. Can we wear it?” Louis asked vehemently. His eyes alternately focused on
his mother and father.
"Yes, Little Bee."
"Woohoo!"
While the two toddlers were busy unpacking their gifts, Ben stood up. “Hello, Mrs. Bell, Frank, and ….”
When he faced Kara, the curve of his lips turned awkward. “Hi, how are you, Miss Martin?”
Kara glanced to the side. Frank rubbed her back. "It's okay," he whispered, soothingly.
After a faint sigh, Kara looked back at her guest. "Fine."
“Good,” Ben nodded, twitching his eyebrows. “So, how are you, Frank?”
“It's never been this good. As you can see. I'm already with my future wife and children," Frank
answered lightly. He sounded like the old, arrogant version of himself.
Ben pursed his bottom lip, almost snorting. "I know. It was obvious. Tsk, I shouldn't have asked.”
Unexpectedly, Frank let out a small laugh. “Nice to see you, Ben.” © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Ben gasped with round eyes. After a few blinks, he raised his eyebrows to the maximum. "Did I hear it
right? It’s nice for you to see me?"
While Kara glanced at him questioningly, Frank nodded. "I'm serious. I'm glad you don't neglect our
invitation. That means there are no grudges between us, right?”
After being stunned for a moment, Ben laughed too. His finger swung at Kara. “You are indeed an
extraordinary woman, Miss Martin. You can turn the arrogant and stubborn Frank Harper into this
gentle.”
"I'm not gentle, but more humane," Frank said as he pulled Kara's waist closer. “But you're right. It was
indeed this extraordinary woman who changed me. I'm very lucky, right?”
Kara blinked as Frank kissed her cheek. Her hand rose, pressed against his chest. “Don't praise me
too much, Frank. Then the guests will get nauseous."
“Don't worry, Miss Martin. We understand. This is the first time Frank Harper has been madly in love.”
Suddenly, Louis and Emily giggled.
"I agree. Daddy is crazy about Mommy," Louis admitted.
"Yes, Daddy treats Mommy as his queen," Emily continued as she put the perfume bottle back into the
bag. “How is it, Mommy? Do Louis and I smell good yet?" She spun around so that her little dress
billowed out.
"You smell so good, Little Bee." Kara stroked Emily’s cheek when she had stopped spinning.
“Then, let's greet the other guests, Louis. Mister Wilson, please enjoy the meal that has been
provided," Emily said, like an adult.
Ben laughed at that. "Okay. Thank you, Princess.” Then, he walked away chatting with Vivian.
“This really is a perfect party. Everyone we know in this town came. They even gave us special gifts,"
Emily said before putting on a sweet smile.
"Yes, you're right. But ...." Louis looked up with an annoyed expression, "Great Grandpa hasn't been
seen yet. I’m afraid he doesn’t want to come.”
Understanding her brother’s feeling, Emily's face also got dimmer. Kara and Frank were confused.
Those two toddlers had been having fun all day. How could their mood change so drastically in a split
second?
“Little Angel, why are you sad?” Kara stroked her children's cheeks.
“We will blow out the candle soon, but Great Grandpa isn't here yet. Is he still angry with us? He hasn't
changed his mind?” Louis expressed his concern.
Emily pouted too. Before the two toddlers cried, Kara quickly rubbed their shoulders.
“Little Bee, you shouldn't be sad. Look! There are many guests who love you. It's not fair if you think
about one person who is not present, while they all hope for your happiness here."
"I know," Louis said quietly. “I've also tried to enjoy the party. But, for some reason, I often looked
towards the door. I hope Great Grandpa is there. Every time I find out that he hasn't come, it feels like
there's something stuck in here." Louis pointed at his own chest. Kara was moved to rub it.
However, just as she was about to speak up, the guests looked at the door in unison. They all said the
same voice, “He's coming.”
The twins turned around and sighed in disbelief. “Great Grandpa?”
In a sudden, their sadness disappeared. With joyful laughter, they ran over to the old man.
“I know Great Grandpa will come! Great Grandpa couldn't possibly make us sad. Great Grandpa loves
us as much as we love him," Louis said with bright face.
"Yes, Great Grandpa is indeed a good person!" Emily continued.
When they arrived in front of Rowan, they immediately hugged his legs. “Thank you for coming, Great
Grandpa! We're so happy! You are finally willing to change and accept us.”
Emily looked up, giving her best smile. She looked very cute with her eyes reflecting golden light.
However, Rowan seemed unaffected. He just raised his eyebrows and pursed his lips slightly. "I didn't
bring any gift," he said flatly.
"It doesn't matter. Your presence alone is very special," Emily said as she grabbed Rowan's finger.
"Come with us to blow out the candles, Great Grandpa."
"Yeah," Louis also pulled Rowan, even if only with one hand. “Since Great Grandpa is already here, we
don't have to wait any longer. Let's blow out the candles and cut the cake now!”
The two toddlers blinked with their mouths rounded.
Rowan didn't fight back. He sat in a chair without expression or sound. After the twins went towards the
cakes with Frank and Kara, he turned to his assistant. “Sean.”
"Yes, Sir?"
“It's too crowded here. Find a more spacious place," he whispered.
After one nod, Sean entered the mansion. Jeremy quietly observed. Through his tablet connected to
CCTV, he monitored Sean's movements. Strangely, the fierce man just walked around. He didn't do
anything other than look around at every door.
“What are they planning?” Jeremy muttered.
