Chapter 149 Special Cake For Rowan

Jeremy caught a signal from Frank's gaze. Feeling that the situation was still under control, he nodded

faintly.

Meanwhile, the candles were already lit. The guests sang for the twins while occasionally glancing at

Rowan. Frank and Kara were doing the same. Although they were suspicious and feeling threatened,

they applauded as if there was no problem.

Thinking their party was going as intended, the twins smiled ear to ear. They were too innocent to

recognize the danger. They even didn’t realize that Rowan had silently disappeared.

“The first cake is for Mommy. Thank you for giving birth and raising us, Mommy!”

Kara smiled and stroked the twins' heads. After kissing their cheeks one by one, she accepted the

cake. "Thank you, Little Bees."

"You're welcome, Mommy."

After giggling, the twins took another plate. Together, they gave it to Frank. “The second piece is for

Daddy. Thank you for coming back with us, Daddy.”

Frank sighed proudly. He showered the twins with kisses. Amused laughter escaped them, spreading

the warmth. After that, Frank received the piece of cake as if it were a jewel. “Thank you, Kids.”

"You're welcome, Daddy!"

Then, the toddlers turned to Susan. Their faces were still bright when they gave the cake to her.

However, as they were about to bring the cake to Rowan, their eyebrows rose.

"Where's Great Grandpa?"

Everyone turned to one point. The chair that Rowan had been sitting on was empty.

“The Great Master is inside. He said that the air outside was too cold for him," a guest exclaimed.

Frank and Kara looked at each other. Their feelings were the same, possessed by an unpleasant

premonition.

“Shall we go in?” Kara whispered.

Before Frank had time to answer, Emily had already walked over to bring the piece of cake for Rowan.

Louis walked behind her with a spoon in his hand.

“Everyone, please enjoy the meal! We’ll be back after we deliver the cake to Great Grandpa," Louis

exclaimed with sparkling eyes.

Frank sighed heavily. He glanced at Jeremy. His assistant just shrugged his shoulders. Together with

Kara, Frank finally caught up with the twins.

“Great Grandpa … Great Grandpa …!”

Louis and Emily's voices echoed. With small steps, they explored the mansion until they entered the

east veranda. Rowan was sitting in one of the chairs looking at the night sky.

"Great Grandpa!"

Emily quickened her pace, but not much, afraid of dropping the cake. Louis also walked carefully. He

seemed ready to catch the plate in case Emily tripped over her own feet. When they arrived in front of

Rowan, they both smiled warmly.

"We've finished blowing out the candles and cutting the cake. We gave the first piece to Mommy. The

second piece is for Daddy.”

“The third piece is for Grandma. But when we wanted to share the fourth piece, Great Grandpa wasn't

there. It turns out you’re here.”

Rowan's eyebrows rose. "You want to give me the cake?"

Kara secretly clenched her fists at that cold tone. Frank even shut his mouth tightly. However, the twins

didn't think it was a problem at all.

"Yes! Birthday cake should be distributed to special people first. Since you are our great-grandfather,

you get it too!” Louis exclaimed, vehemently.

“Take it, Great Grandpa. This is special for you.” Emily handed the plate in her hand with a very sweet

smile. Meanwhile, Louis offered the spoon.

For a few seconds, Rowan stared at the cake. His unfocused eyes implied something. After one deep

breath, he muttered, "I don't like sweets."

"But this is our birthday cake, Great Grandpa. This is a sign of our love for you because you are special

to us." Louis pushed the spoon closer.

Rowan snorted. His eyes narrowed slightly. "Why do you guys think I'm special?"

"Because you’re our great-grandfather, and we are family," Emily answered in a sweet voice. “Come

on, Grandpa. Eat it! The tip of a spoon is fine too.”

Kara and Frank started to move restlessly. Rowan's refusal was too obvious. However, just as they

were about to pull the twins back, the old man took the spoon from Louis' hand.

The twins spontaneously stifled a laugh. Their toes wiggled in their shoes, excited.

“Is that so? I am special because we are family?” Rowan brought the spoon closer to the plate.

“Yeah! You are the best great grandfather in the world. And you know what, Great Grandpa? Mrs. Bell

gave us vouchers for free shopping at a toy shop. We can go there together later.”

Rowan let out a dry laugh. Then slowly, he moved the cake to the edge of the plate until finally ... it fell

on the floor!

Frank and Kara were stunned. It's hard to believe that Rowan would have the heart to say something

as rude as that to the twins, his own great-grandchildren.

Meanwhile, Louis and Emily had been pouting. Beneath their furrowed brows, disappointment began to

well up.

“Why are you so mean to us, Great Grandpa? In fact, we really love you," Louis said softly.

Instead of pity, Rowan laughed contemptuously. “If you really love me, you can't possibly keep your

mother. You should choose me.”

“Misleading?” Rowan's expression also hardened. “I lead you to a better future, but you call me

misleading?”

Suddenly, Rowan pointed his finger towards Kara. "You don't realize who she is? Kara Martin. Has

anything great been reported about her? Is there any big news about her family?”

After lowering his hand, Rowan shook his head. "Nothing. She was completely unknown to the world.

Because of what? Because she doesn't have the ability. She has nothing to be proud of.”

“She is the mother of my children.”

Frank took a quick breath and gritted his teeth. Shaking his head, he muttered in resignation, “There's

no point in me talking to you. You’ll never understand. The only things you care are just money and

reputation."

“Yes! Great Grandpa is really bad! We shouldn’t have invited him!” Louis exclaimed between sobs. Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

“I think Great Grandpa could change. I think we could be a happy family. But it turns out Great Grandpa

is still evil," Emily continued while shedding tears. Her eyes and nose had turned red.

Seeing the twins crying in Kara's arms, Frank's chest became tighter. His frustration was doubled. “You

really have no heart, Grandpa!”
