Chapter 62
My mother took my hand and led me to a room with Astraeus close at our heels. When she closed the door, they both hugged me tightly.
I was taken aback by the gesture and stood awkwardly between them. I moved my hands up hesitantly to hug them back and just as I did, they both moved back in sync. I looked at them weirdly and both their eyes were filled with awe and love.
This was a strange sight to see from two people that were very strong and poised.
My mom started to rub my belly and things seemed to get even stranger as her eyes glowed while looking down at my belly." Is the little one treating you well?" Lucian:
I was having one hell of a headache today and even after popping a lot of pain pills, it seemed to be one of stubborn nature refusing with all of its might to go away.
I tried my best to listen to both the pack meetings and the business meeting but I found it hard with this throbbing headache.
It felt like a cat had sunken its claws into my scalp, refusing to let go. I stared at the screen trying to concentrate on all of the business talk, but it seemed like a task that was impossible. Suddenly, the office door barged open. Revealing a panicked Damian.
I muted the call and rubbed my head. "What's wrong now Damian" I groaned.
"It's Scarlet", he said frantically, making my head whip in his direction.
I stood up and flew past him. "Keep me updated with the meeting" I said before running out of the pack house and jumping into my silver mustang.
I sped down the road to where they were having their spa day. I was anticipating the worst. When I arrived, I saw the wolves that were supposed to guard her all in a panic. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
When their eyes landed on my car they all mouthed f*ck in unison before a couple scattered and those brave enough stood at attention like army men.
"WHAT HAPPENED?" I growled at them, only receiving a shiver.
I took a deep breath attempting to calm myself down. "Should I repeat myself?" I said in a calmer tone. The men all shook their heads in unison.
"Sir", one stepped forward further down the line. I walked up to him, looking him straight in the eyes.
"The situation is hard to explain.
A witch seems to have acted as an employee and has placed the Luna in ... a... trance of some sort. She said that if we removed her fingers from the Luna's head, the Luna might end up being lost forever."
I turned my head to the side, cracking my neck in the hopes of easing the tension that was building within me.
I could feel my wolf wanted to come forth and rip the witch to shreds, but I knew this course of action was too risky. A risk I wasn't willing to take.
I swallowed a lump that had formed in my throat. "Lucian?", I opened my eyes to see a teary-faced Layla in a gown. She seemed like a woman that had just escaped hell anticipating me to have the solution to all her problems. And at that moment I didn't have one for myself. I felt so stupid for not believing her earlier. I should've done better.
I was the reason that she was placed in a weak position and taken advantage of. My plan was to give her a relaxing time and now it's turned to hell.
"Take me to her", I said, and Layla nodded whilst sniffing.
We walked through the spa and right in to the mud bath room. When I entered the door, I growled at the sight that was before
me.
"Alpha" the witch said, followed by a nervous giggle.
She was an old hag with long white hair and glowing green eyes. "Let's get to the point", she said, and I looked down at my princess, who seemed to be in a deep sleep.
She would've looked so peaceful had it not been for the witch digging into her brain. When my eyes met the witches again I felt a bit of relief.
I knew she wasn't here to kill my mate because, if so shed already be dead. "I think that would be a brilliant idea", I said in a professional, emotionless tone.
"I'm just the...messenger...and... and have no problems with you or your Luna.
However, I was approached by Zeus himself to just help your Luna's astral project so they could have a meeting that's all.
When they are done and she is ready to come back, my work will be done and you can have your Luna back" I fisted my hand into a ball.
"And when would that be?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"That wasn't information shared with me" "Well can't you just join in" She shook her head violently.
"Only gods and god's descents can enter Olympus without serious repercussions.'
She said in a worried tone. I sighed. "Well, can you send me in?" She shook her head again.
"No sir I was under strict rules to keep you out of this, I've already said too much and I value my life too much", I sighed. Here I was with my hands tied. I had nothing that I could do but wait.
I sat next to the bath and took hold of her muddy hand, just waiting and watching her face. It moved like she was dreaming and her expressions were shown clearly.
She was weird out seemingly and I couldn't help but giggle a little. I felt Layla's hand rest on my shoulder in a reassuring way. "Don't worry too much Lucian, she's strong. She will be back soon enough"
"thank you" was all I could muster up to say. And now more than ever I wished I had listened to them and been more cautious. I won't allow them to step foot close to her in any way ever again, even if it was the last thing I did.
