Anthony saw that Zane remained silent and approached him a bit, saying, "I've done my research.
Brandon's rumored love interest is his childhood friend. Do you think that a random person can
compare to someone from his past?"
Zane glanced at Anthony indifferently and replied briefly, "Brandon won't go back to the past."
Anthony shrugged it off, "I'm not a saint, so I'll definitely take advantage of an opportunity."
Upon hearing Anthony's words, Zane's brow twitched slightly, but he didn't say much.
Anthony continued, "So, does this count as a favor owed to me?"
Zane glanced at Anthony's face and calmly said, "Yes."
Anthony nodded, "Good, just remember it. I'm outta here!"
After exchanging greetings with Zane, Anthony left with his gang on motorcycles.
Once Anthony left, Allan and Evan approached.
Allan looked in the direction Anthony left and asked, "When did you become so friendly with Anthony?"
Zane replied in a low voice, "He's useful."
"What's the plan?" Allan inquired.
Zane didn't elaborate and focused on their injuries. He looked at Allan and said, "Do you live at Mitch's
place?"
Allan nodded, "It's convenient to take care of Reed."
Allan had something to discuss with Haider about the small apartment, but he hadn't had the chance
yet.
Zane nodded, "I'll give you Haider's contact later."
Allan agreed, "Okay."
Zane turned to Evan, "Thanks for your help tonight."
Evan waved it off, "No problem."
Allan asked Zane, "Want me to drop you off?"
Zane checked the time on his watch and nodded, "Sure."
Evan had some other business to attend to at the black market, so he didn't join Allan and Zane.
"You guys go ahead. I still have something to deal with here," Evan said.
Allan agreed, and the two of them left the black market together.
On their way to D-king Castle, Allan asked Zane, "I heard Yanis got hurt. Is it serious?"
"Who told you that?" Zane asked.
"Just heard," Allan replied.
Zane said, "There's nothing to worry about."
Then Zane turned to Allan, "What are your plans now?"
Allan leaned back in the seat, thought for a moment, and then said, "I don't have any concrete plans
yet, but the most important thing right now is taking care of Reed. Everything else can wait."
Allan had decided to stay in Manches City for Reed's sake. Now that Reed was pregnant, Allan
entrusted many matters to Evan, hoping to be a hands-off boss. However, Evan had his own
responsibilities to handle, so Allan's plan wasn't going as smoothly as he had hoped.
Zane didn't delve further into the matter.
When Allan stopped the car at D-king Castle, he said, "I won't go in. I'll tell Reed I'll be back in about
two hours."
Zane raised an eyebrow when he heard this and nodded, "Okay, go ahead."
After Allan left, Zane stood by the car for a moment. Bonnie was still around.
Zane turned and walked back inside, sending Haider's contact to Allan along the way.
Once he put his phone away, Zane headed to the living room and sat on the sofa.
Not long after he sat down, his phone rang again. It was an unfamiliar number.
Zane looked at the number for a few seconds before answering the call.
"Zane, it's me," Lisa's voice came through.
Zane had already guessed it was her, so when he heard Lisa's voice, he asked in a low voice, "What's
up?"
"Thank you for saving Jo," Lisa said, expressing her gratitude.
Zane's tone remained indifferent, "He's part of the Lawrences; it's my duty to save him."
Lisa couldn't miss the implication in Zane's words. After a brief silence, she said softly, "I'm willing to let
Jo stay in the Lawrence family, but I have a condition."
"What is it?" Zane asked.
"I want Jo to stay with you, not with Dylan. If you agree to this condition, I won't ask for any money, I
just want the chance to see him in the future," Lisa said quietly.
Hearing Lisa's words, Zane's brow twitched, "It's improper for him to stay with me."
"I don't care about propriety. I only have this one condition. Otherwise, no matter what, I won't easily let
Jo return to the Lawrence family. You can discuss it and get back to me," Lisa said before hanging up.
Zane sat on the sofa, maintaining the posture of answering the phone for a while. When he heard
footsteps coming down the stairs, he finally regained his composure and looked up.
