I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 63

The Slap

Her delicate face was cold and pale. Harper did not respond to Lauren. She walked directly to her, raised her hand, and slapped Lauren in the face.

The sound echoed in the air.

The slap was so hard that a bruised mark immediately appeared on Lauren's cheek.

Lauren couldn't believe what Harper had done to her. She looked at Harper. "Why? What did I do to you?"

"You are very clear deep down. Save it, Lauren. I warn you, you'd better be good. Stop your trick if you don't want your public image to collapse. Don't mess with me again."

Harper stared at Lauren meaningfully and with warning eyes.

"I don't know what you are talking about. Harper, you just slapped me. If Benjamin finds out, have you thought about how to explain it?" Lauren's hand flew to her cheek, instinctively covering the mark left by the slap. Her eyes were red, and she felt awful.

Her manager, Rue, also quickly stepped forward to protect Lauren from Harper.

Rue said, "Ms. Mitchell, you shouldn't act like this. We can talk, alright? Be civil, please."

She deliberately made her voice louder to attract the attention of passers-by.

Harper smiled faintly, "You can speak louder. Tell everybody how Lauren Davis, the big star, interfered in my marriage with Benjamin?"

Rue's face stiffened and she immediately fell silent.

Lauren stared at Harper. "Benjamin doesn't love you. You would have divorced long ago if you just let him go."

"I don't care. As long as we don't get divorced, you won't be able to get together in public. If I'm pregnant now, we'll never divorce."

"How dare you? Harper, don't even think about getting pregnant! You are insane!"

Lauren was completely out of control, forgetting to keep her public image.

Seeing this, Rue quickly held her hand to remind her.

But her eyes kept staring at Harper, and her expression turned furious.

Harper curled her lips and sneered, "Am I insane? After all, we are husband and wife. You think that we just chat on sheets every night?"

Harper ignored Lauren and turned around to leave.

She came there to give Lauren a lesson. Fortunately, the baby was fine, otherwise she would have fought with Lauren.

She would let Lauren pay.

Seeing Harper leave with arrogance, Lauren didn't know how to refute. Also, she didn't want more people to recognize her.

Rue comforted her in a low voice, "Lauren, don't be influenced by her. The most important thing for us now is to invent your public image. As for the rest, we'll figure it out someday." Lauren snorted coldly, and then she put his hair down to cover the slap mark.

She said, "I don't want to meet investors. I want to go to the Martin Group."

Rue agreed. No investor could be as good as Benjamin.

When she arrived at the Martin Group, she went directly to Benjamin's office and knocked on the door. She walked in and shed tears. "Benjamin..."

She cried so hard that her whole face looked aggrieved.

Benjamin frowned, "What happened?"

She lifted her hair to reveal the bruised mark on her cheek, which was shocking on her fair face.

Harper did it heavily.

She lowered her head. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have let you accompany me to the meeting, which would have caused Harper misunderstand. Otherwise, Harper wouldn't go to my studio... Benjamin, you and Harper have decided not to divorce. She said she would give you a child... So who am I? Make it clear to me! I can leave, and I will not disturb you.'

Benjamin frowned. He got some information from her words.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and said, "Harper slapped you?"

Lauren didn't deny it. "Benjamin, I can't work in the entertainment field if people know about this. If I make a mistake, she can talk to me, instead of slapping on my face." She cried sadly.

His expression became more gloomy.

He said, "Lauren, I will give you a response."

Lauren said, "Benjamin, I don't want to make it difficult for you. I just felt confused. Harper warned me to stay away from you. If this is also what you mean, then I can go now." Benjamin's face was extremely depressed. The mark on Lauren's cheek was not fake, so he immediately called Harper.

It got through. "Where are you?" he asked.

"At home. What's wrong?"

Harper's expression was gentle and his tone was steady.

"Wait for me at home!"

Benjamin said indifferently and then cut off the call directly.

He drove back to the Pineview Villa along with Lauren.

It took forty minutes.

When he entered the door, Harper had already been mentally prepared.

After all, Lauren would not be Lauren if she didn't tell Benjamin.

Her face was calm and her eyes were fixed on him.

Benjamin frowned and asked in a calm tone, "Harper, did you leave the mark on Lauren's face?"

"Yes, it's me." She lifted her head and met his deep gaze.

"Why did you do this? Because I attended her comeback meeting yesterday as a friend?"

"Benjamin, that's between you and her. I don't care."

Harper's voice was cold, and her beautiful face was pale and cold. Her answer made Benjamin suddenly feel distant.

He thought she was angry and jealous, but she said it had nothing to do with her.

Benjamin's voice was low and hoarse. "Since you don't care, why did you slap her?"

"Then you have to ask Ms. Davis what she did."

Harper's face remained calm, and her tone kept the same. The doctor said she couldn't get excited, so she tried to control herself. Lauren's eyes were red and she bit her lip. "Harper, I didn't do anything, and we didn't even quarrel. Rue was there, too."

Harper sneered, "Ms. Davis, you think I went all the way, just to slap on your face for no reason?"

"You..."

Lauren burst into tears. She was so aggrieved but speechless. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Benjamin frowned and shouted, "Harper, apologize. Apologize to Lauren immediately."

"Apologize for what?"

"You slapped her, you should apologize."

Harper was almost ready to tell what Lauren had done. But she didn't.

She thought nothing would change, although she told him the truth.

Benjamin had always preferred Lauren and would not trust her.

Harper pressed her lips and said with a gentle expression, "Benjamin, she deserves it. If she dares again, I will do more than a slap. I am not wrong and I will not apologize." "Harper, you've changed. Shouldn't you apologize if you hurt someone?"

"I've always been like this. It's just that you never understood me." Her attitude was tough, and her face became even colder, "Benjamin, like I said, I will not apologize."

After saying that, Harper stood up from the sofa. She was leaving upstairs, while he grabbed her wrist.

"Harper, you need to apologize!"

His cold eyes stared at her.

It hurt her. Besides, her arm was swollen after being dragged by someone in the parking lot yesterday. She frowned and said lowly, "Benjamin, you hurt me. If you insist on an apology, you can help her to slap me for revenge. Will you?"
